Chapter 01

“If you have no further objection, just sign here.” Delilah said, her voice filled with mockery and insults as she slammed the paper in front of Oliver.

Oliver, shocked, looked down at the papers and then back up at Delilah, he knew that she had always hated him because of his poor status but he only shrugged her off and hoped she would change.

“Delilah.” Oliver called, he was astounded, unable to believe that something like this would happen. He never saw it coming.

“The last thing I want is for my name to come out of your filthy mouth, you poor dog.” Delilah shot at him, anger burning in her eyes.

“What do you want?” Oliver finally asked with a frown across his face, he already knew what she wanted and he could see the title ‘Divorce’ written on top of the paper.

Delilah smirked, her eyes mocking him as she sized him up and down. She doesn’t want him with her daughter and she will do everything within her power to separate them.

“You’re really asking me what I want?” Delilah demanded amidst laughter, she would stop at nothing to mock Oliver and rub what kind of loser he is to his face.

“I want you to sign the divorce papers and stay away from my daughter.” She answered, her voice authoritative and arrogant as she slammed her hand on the table.

“In three years our family business boomed, we started with just a shop and now it’s a top company in the city, do you think I still want a wretched man around my daughter?” She finished.

Oliver had never been more disappointed in his entire life, the way Delilah spoke to him was hurting but just because of the love he has for her daughter, he kept enduring it.

They had absolutely no idea that Oliver was the reason behind their booming business, it was because of his help that things had turned around for them.

He had helped them secretly and even offered the sum of 1 million dollars as a start-up business but they didn’t know that and now Delilah is offering him a divorce papers?

“I will sign the divorce papers,” Oliver sneered, “but I need to see my wife first, after all she’s the one who wants the divorce.” He added.

“And I will not sign the papers unless I speak with Sienna first.” He finished, his tone firm.

“You can’t see her,” Delilah said, rejecting Oliver’s request, “my daughter is a very busy woman, she can’t see you because you didn’t make an appointment.” She further explained.

“She’s my damn wife, you can’t tell me that I can’t see my wife.” He almost yelled. Oliver was furious, he couldn’t believe his ears and there was a short argument between him and Delilah when the door opened.

“Enough of all the noise and yells!” Sienna shouted as soon as she got in, her eyes were cold and even her face looked like she was angry.

“You’ve seen me, can you now sign the divorce papers?” She asked, hissing as she looked away from Oliver.

There was once love between the both of them but ever since her company boomed, the love faded and Sienna felt like she deserves more than what Oliver had to offer.

“I don’t have much time over here, just sign the damn papers and let the whole thing be over with!” She added firmly when Oliver didn’t say or do anything.

Sneering, Oliver walked closely to her, he still couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that Sienna was the same woman he married years ago.

“You’re now a CEO,” he started, the mockery could be heard in his voice as he looked at his wife, “you’ve become so busy that you can’t even finish your own divorce?” He added with a raised eyebrow.

“Yes, I’m a CEO, I’m very busy and I can’t let something so little waste my time.” Sienna answered, her voice showed no emotions.

“Really, so, if I want to divorce you I need an appointment?” Oliver asked, shaking his head.

Sienna’s facial expression was still cold, she needed to be somewhere really soon but here she is because her husband wanted to see her before signing the papers.

“Look, like I said, I don’t have much time, just sign the papers and I’ll make it up to you.” Sienna started, she tried to explain to Oliver but soon gave up.

“I’ll give you money, a house and a car of your own if you want it. I’ll make sure that you’re satisfied.” She added.

“Do I look like a greedy person to you?!” Oliver snarled, “do I look like I need your money or house?” He added.

“After all these years of marriage, you think all I want is material things? Is marriage the same as a trade deal to you?” He finished. He was angry.

“You must be so crazy making those huge amounts of money that you now have a problem in your head!” He yelled, banging on the table.

His eyes showed his anger and his heart was beating so fast that he could do something really stupid, something he’d regret.

“Everything is a trade deal to me.” Sienna answered, her eyes staring coldly at Oliver as every word rolled out of her tongue.

“So is marriage and love, it’s nothing of importance to me and if you can’t catch up to me I’ll have no other choice than to leave you.” She finished.

“What?” Oliver asked, everything happening in front of him was unbelievable to him and he had to pinch himself to be sure he wasn't dreaming.

“You can start a new life elsewhere, become a better person, Oliver,” Sienna continued, her voice was low now and her mind was already made up.

“Sincerely, I wish you could just try to improve yourself and if you do that, everything will be different but for now, we have to go our separate ways.” Sienna finished.
