Kalix furrowed his brow, trying to remember this incident from his previous life. It seemed like something like this had happened before, but back then, he didn't go to the back building out of fear. Consequently, he ended up getting more bullying from Lorenz.

As for now, Kalix still didn't want to go meet Lorenz. However, he also didn't want to offend the guy for the time being. It's not that his soul was the same as before. Kalix knew that his current temperament wouldn't hesitate to respond to punches with punches.

However, he still needed a scholarship at this university. He couldn't get involved in fights or anything that would tarnish his reputation.

"Alright, I'll go see him," he said, walking casually to his closet.

"Don't you hear? Senior Lorenz said now!" Jimmy shouted again. "Don't let the senior come here and cause trouble for me and Grey."

Kalix combed his hair casually and replied, "Don't worry, he won't cause trouble for you guys."

Jimmy snorted and left with Grey.

Meanwhile, Kalix continued to take care of himself.

"Go in an hour," the system spoke to him.

"Why?" Kalix asked, confused. He didn't know what the system meant.

There was a mysterious laughter echoing in his mind, and Kalix heard the system say again, "There's a great show for you. This is also your first mission."

Kalix asked a few more times, but the system didn't give him any answers. In the end, Kalix could only follow the system's words and went to meet Lorenz half an hour later.

He decided to go to the cafeteria first but found that he only had $10 left in his pocket. There was also some money in his savings, but he couldn't just take it. Even if he could make a lot of money with memories from his previous life, he was still a broke student who needed to save money and work part-time at night. He had to be frugal, right?

"What are you lamenting, huh?" The system could sense Kalix's concern. "Don't you have a little savings? Give me all your savings, and I'll invest it automatically. The money will be available on your bank card."

"Is this true?" Kalix asked with some hesitation. After all, the contents of his savings were funds he had saved to help his mother's medical treatment.

"Of course," the system assured him. "Give it all to me and use your $10 to buy food. Within 24 hours, your savings will multiply."

"Alright," Kai replied. He provided a series of bank card passwords and allowed the system to access them.

Kalix ate peacefully and then went to the back building to meet Lorenz. He didn't approach Lorenz directly but lurked to observe him first. The building was rarely visited by people, not even security guards came to check. That's why the building was used as a hangout spot for troublesome kids.

Inside the building, some people were talking, they were Lorenz's lackeys. However, there was no sign of Lorenz. The system asked Kalix to sneak into another room.

From the outside, Kalix could hear the distinct sound of people kissing. He had lived for more than 25 years, there was no way he misheard this. Kalix tried to peek, and sure enough, Lorenz was passionately kissing someone.

Kalix couldn't see the woman clearly because her body was covered by Lorenz. However, Kalix felt somewhat familiar when he saw her.

"Who is that woman?" Kalix asked the system.

The system didn’t respond, and Kalix could only observe them more closely. In the midst of his seriousness, the system suddenly spoke, “Mission: Catch them cheating and break up with Jane.”

“Jane?” Kalix looked surprised. “Is that woman my girlfriend Jane?”

The system remained silent, but in the next moment, the two people who were embracing separated, and Kalix could see the woman’s face clearly. It was indeed Jane.

“How could this happen?” Kalix wondered in his heart. He was slightly incredulous but not overly disappointed.

From his position, Kalix gazed at Jane with a complex expression. Their relationship in this life might have only begun a few weeks ago, but in their previous life, they had been together for years. Even before his death, Jane was the only one who cared for him.

The system sensed Kalix’s complicated mood but didn’t let him back down from the first mission.

“You should have noticed Jane’s odd behavior long before today,” the system said.

Kalix nodded. He had lived with Jane for years, so, of course, he had sensed something was off. However, he never made it an issue because he only had Jane in his last life. Every time he came home, Jane would welcome him, making him feel at home.

“Jane has a high sexual appetite, it’s normal for her to cheat on you frequently,” the system added.

Kalix knew this, and he didn’t argue. He even felt a bit guilty for his past busyness and lack of attention to Jane.

The system spoke again, “But the most important thing is that Jane is easily bought. Your father bought her to spy on you.”

This time, Kalix was truly surprised. He didn’t know when Mason and Jane had become connected.

“Since when?”

“Exactly a few days after you sent a letter to Mason. Mason paid Jane to get close to you and gain your trust.”

“Damn!” It made sense that Jane, who liked intimate relationships more than anything, could tolerate him being so busy in the past, especially when he had nothing now, during his university years.

In the midst of Kalix’s distress, the system quipped, “You may be quite handsome, but that’s not enough to attract anyone because you’re just a poor guy.”

Kalix rolled his eyes. “Why are you insulting me now, huh? At least, after I succeed, I’ll have plenty of suitors.”

“It’s a long way to that,” the system said again. “The first thing you need to do is detach yourself from Jane, both physically and emotionally.”

“No attachment is best,” after saying that, the system fell silent, leaving Kalix with his complex thoughts.

Kalix didn’t peek at them but took out his phone to record their actions. After their lips separated, there was a conversation between the two of them.

“What are you going to do with that bastard?” Jane’s sweet voice was heard first, with a slightly flirtatious tone that was strange to Kalix.

Lorenz snorted unhappily. They had just been passionately kissing, and now his girlfriend was talking about another man. “Just a little lesson. Besides, that old man gave a lot of money, how could I neglect my job.”

Kalix heard their conversation and understood everything. It turned out Lorenz and Jane were both on Mason’s payroll. Suddenly, he didn’t want to hide anymore.

"Lucas! Be careful!" The shout came from Eugene. Watching her son continue to run around in the middle of the grass field in front of their house sometimes made Eugene feel like she was on the verge of a sudden heart attack. How could she not? Her five-year-old son was very active and almost never wanted to sit still for more than a minute. Eugene could only laugh as she watched Lucas proudly show off his catch, a small insect-shaped ball with black and reddish-orange patterns. "Are you happy to get it?" his mother asked, answered by her son's enthusiastic nod. A blade of grass fell from Lucas's head. Five years had passed, and Eugene had proven herself capable of fulfilling her duties as a mother. Lucas was active and intelligent, inheriting his good looks from Kalix, but his personality, no one knew where he got it from. "Lucas," called Kalix, who had just come out of the house. "Eugene, are you alright?" Kalix's worried expression couldn't be hidden when he saw his wife looking pale. Eugene smiled gently. Actually, her stomach was quite upset in the morning, perhaps due to indigestion or eating something wrong. She emerged from the bathroom after vomiting her breakfast this morning. "I think I'm fine," Eugene said casually. "Shouldn't we go to the doctor just in case? I'll take you right now," Kalix suggested. Seeing how caring her husband was, her heart felt warm, but she had to refuse, "I'm okay. Besides, I already have plans with my friends today." Kalix sighed deeply, his gaze shifting to his wife's stomach. "I don't mean to stop you, but how can you go out on an empty stomach? You just vomited all your food." Actually, Eugene didn't feel very hungry, but considering the effort the man had put into preparing breakfast this morning, she felt guilty. "I'll try to eat again." It seemed Kalix didn't quite agree with Eugene's words. However, he also fel
