Chapter 5- Negative Left! Negative Right!

Where are you going to?"

Virginia questioned after grabbing Carlos's hand.

Carlos held her tight and closed his eyes. 

"Don't worry, Mom. I will keep you safe"

"All we have to do is follow the direction of the glow!"

Carlos said and Virginia held him back

"How are you so sure that this glow means good and not harm to you? I have a strong feeling about this, let's go to your sister "

Virginia said and Carlos hugged her tight

"You have to understand what I am feeling now. The torture is too much! I have to abide by what these visions tell me"

"How are you sure that the visions are correct? How do you know the right place to be at the right time?"

Virginia asked in fear of the future

"Mom, the glow will lead me. Let's go"

Carlos and his mom walked away and straight to an abandoned building close to the petrol station.

"I think it's here "

Carlos said and followed a route inside the tattered house but the glow disappeared.

"Mom, I think that we are following the wrong route!"

He said and his glow brightened instantly, implying a grave danger yet to come.

"Why is it becoming so bright?"

Virginia questioned and Carlos said while biting his teeth

"They are painful as well, I think that something dangerous is around here!"

Immediately after his statement, a male Zombie who appeared in prison attire grabbed his hand and forced himself to bite the glow but Carlos hit his head and the teeth broke and spread on the floor.

Carlos raised his head and threw him to another zombie on prison cloth.

The two zombies made their way to attack them.

Carlos pointed his glow to their eyes and moved his hands horizontally to the nearest wall, making them baffled.

He gave his mother the signal to run back and he would follow.

He ran off and the zombies lost their sight after the glow was removed from their gaze.

Virginia continued running without even realizing that a zombie was approaching her.

She fell flat on the floor and the zombie brought his mouth to bite her.

Carlos flipped on the Zombie's neck and gave him an elbow kick. The zombie fell but stood up instantly and grabbed Carlos's clothes.

To free himself, Carlos tore his polo and used it to tie the Zombie's face; And further threw him far from their reach.

The glow became brighter and torturing. Giving Carlos the thought that the person he was aiming at saving must be close.

"Somebody help me!'

The lady screamed, drawing Carlos's attention.

"Let's go, Mom!"

"No! You are not going anywhere. I can't afford to lose you. Just ignore this glow and leave already. We still have to save your sister, remember?"

Virginia said in haste as she dragged Carlos's hand intending to pull him away.

"No Mom! We have to save her"

Carlos clutched his mom's hand as they walked closer to the room

"Are you sure about this, Carlos?"

Virginia inquired and Carlos gestured positively to her inquiry. His hand continued glowing as the Zombie moved closer to the lady.

"Don't touch me!"

The young lady with a slim and stable posture warned the zombies which were almost close to her. 

She was clueless about what exactly she ought to do at that time. Seeing the zombies with their unstable walking posture and unresisting pleasure to devour her, the young lady threw her phone at them. It distance their attention.

Meanwhile, Carlos's glow became brighter as he approached the room.

"What!"

Auguste said as he stood up from his chair

"What do you mean by that? Claire ought to be home by now, don't tell me that she isn't here yet!"

Auguste screamed at the top of his voice in anger. He dialed her number but no response.

He threw the phone away out of anger.

Meanwhile, the young lady's phone was ringing, dragging the zombie's attention. She seemed more like an observer as she watched and waited carefully for the zombies to move to the phone.

She attempted to walk out through the corner but one of the zombies who is a female sighted her. She was putting on the petrol station's staff uniform.

The zombie grabbed her hair and moved her closer to her teeth.

Carlos's hands couldn't stop torturing him as he walked closer to the door.

The young lady pushed the Zombie who further pulled her single hair. She tried to run out through the door but tripped and fell on Carlos's hands.

"Are you okay?"

Carlos asked and the lady gestured. His glowing hand disappeared instantly as he handed the lady over to his mom.

He smashed the female zombie with a fierce kick which drew the attention of the other Zombie who was searching for the phone.

"Switch off the light!"

The young lady screamed and Carlos offed the lights immediately. He shut the door and the zombies started banging on it.

"Let's go!"

Carlos said and they all ran off.

"Now you go out there, find me, my daughter. Make sure not to return until she is here"

Auguste said angrily to Diego.

As Diego wanted to walk away, Auguste said

"One more thing! Don't come back until Carlos is dead. You may find my daughter but make sure that Carlos doesn't escape this time around. He should be bitten by a Zombie, is that understood?"

"Of course godfather "

Diego and Rhea walked away and Auguste continued dialing Claire's number.

Carlos drove his mom and the lady he saved to a safe place. A lonely area owned by his late father.

"Here is safe and far from the city, you guys should stay here while I go bring Chloe home"

He said to them and the lady whom he saved earlier gave him her diamond earring

"Take- have it"

"But for what?"

Carlos asked, astonished

"That's for saving me earlier. I appreciate your effort earlier"

The lady added and Carlos grinned

"By the way, I am Claire"

The lady added and Carlos stared at her

"Carlos!"

He added and a voice like that of an Artificial Intelligence system started echoing in his head.

"Negative - Right! Negative - Left!"
