Chapter 6- It is all connected

Carlos held his head and closed his eyes. His teeth were chattering as his face squeezed. He appeared to be in great pain as the voice continued

"Negative - Left! Negative - Right!"

Carlos screamed as he envisioned where a crowd instantly turned to zombies.

"Negative - Left! Negative - Right!"

The voice continued. Carlos's scream increased when a squealing sound mixed with the electronic voice.

"No!"

He screamed and collapsed instantly.

"Carlos! Carlos!"

Virginia screamed and Claire asked her to move aside so she could examine him.

She checked his pulse and they were vibrant and active as well.

"What could have happened to him?"

She murmured to herself.

Carlos regained consciousness immediately and stared at Claire without a wink. Observing this, Claire moved aside but Carlos continued staring at her initial squatting position.

"Negative - Left! Negative - Right!'

Carlos said and stood up immediately

"I have to go Mom "

"But wait, what is that in your pocket?"

Claire asked pointing at Carlos's pocket where he kept the circa.

"I have to go now!"

He said and drove off immediately. Unknown to him, the circa fell out of his pocket when he was activating his bike.

Claire picked the circa and gazed at it curiously

"What is this?"

She said as she stared at the circa. It looks like a ring but to Claire, that wasn't a ring. It had a curve which a ring doesn't. She observed it closely and remembered that Carlos's shorts were shaking when he was screaming. Not just his shorts but the pocket where he kept the ring.

"This is all connected!"

Claire muttered to herself as she searched for her phone and remembered that she had dropped it in the tattered house.

Carlos was sure that he had seen the road where the crowd turned to zombies.

"This has to be connected!"

He muttered to himself as he drove faster. He remembered his sweat dropping on his bike earlier which increased its speed. He wiped his sweat and dropped it on the gear surface of his bike and the speed automatically increased.

"Negative - Left! Negative - Right!"

Claire muttered to herself and tried to remember where she heard that before Carlos said so. She raised her eyelenses after remembering where she heard that statement.

"Dad! I can remember the day Dad muttered this same word to himself in his secret lab! Negative - left! Negative - Right!"

"Any problem?"

Virginia questioned and Claire explained her discovery about hearing the same word from her dad.

Carlos's bike didn't stop driving faster as he increased the speed. He finally got to the same place he saw in his imagination.

"This is the same place! I am sure of that. I saw a lot of people in this place, they were confused and the next thing - they transformed into zombies!"

He said and shook his head

"A fluid! I did see a fluid. It was coming from nowhere and two metallic arrows were pointing at it. Each with two buttons- White and red!"

He paused and gazed around while still trying to recollect everything he saw in his visions.

"Each of the buttons with an inscription N and P!"

He moved his eyes in the calculation

"The circa! It has the same inscription on two of its buttons- N and P!"

"What could this mean?"

He added to himself while still moving around to see if there was anyone around the lonely road without traces of cars. Only chirpings from birds and the falling sun. It also had vegetation surrounding it.

"The circa!"

Carlos put his hands inside his pocket but didn't see the Circa.

He widened his eyes.

Claire was still gazing at the circa as she touched every part of it. It was small, even smaller than a normal ring.

"This is more like a ring!"

Claire wondered to herself as she sloped her hands below the Circa and felt something like a button. She turned it and saw many buttons with different colors. The button was unclear as it was too small; Therefore, the inscriptions on it were blurred.

But Claire observed it closely and saw the inscription "_N" on the left round part of the ring and another inscription "_N" on the right part of the round Circa. She remembered Carlos's utterance, "Negative - Left! Negative - Right!"

"This is all connected!"

She added to herself as she yelped.

"I have to leave right now! This place is not safe, the most presiding of all my problems is the Circa. Where is it?"

Carlos muttered to himself and attempted to hop on his bike when someone gripped his hand.

He looked back and saw thousands of zombies!
