"Dad, are you sure this won't cause any problems?" Jenna asked worriedly as she watched her father ask his wife to put poison in the food.

Bobby clicked his tongue, "It won't. People will just think he overdosed on drugs. He just got out of the hospital, no one will suspect anything."

Jenna swallowed hard, still looking anxious. But Liza turned to her daughter, "Call him now and be nice so he doesn't get suspicious."

Jenna nodded in understanding. The woman walked towards the guest room where Mikael was staying.

Before she could knock on the door, it opened.

Mikael raised his eyebrows, looking questioningly at the blonde woman, who was actually quite beautiful.

"Dad asked me to call you for dinner."

"Oh, did you tell him I wanted to talk to him?" Mikael asked as he walked out of his room.

"Yes, I think so ... you can talk about it at dinner."

Mikael nodded and followed Jenna, who was walking ahead of him to the dining room.

Mikael saw Old Bobby Brown smiling warmly at him, and even his mother-in-law, Liza, looked at him without a reproachful gaze.

"Sit down, Mike! Let's eat together!" Liza also smiled broadly at him.

Mikael furrowed his brow, looking surprised by their completely different attitudes.

Mikael easily understood that something was wrong.

Growing up in a military world, Mikael was always alert to everything happening around him. Especially such a striking change.

This time, he could see that everything the Brown family was doing was fake.

What were they really planning? Mikael wondered.

"Mike, eat up! I cooked it especially for you. You ... like salmon, right?" Liza asked in a friendly tone.

Mikael raised his eyebrows and became even more surprised when Liza took the salmon she had cooked and put it on his plate.

Mikael ignored it and immediately asked Bobby, "Mr. Brown, since I'm getting a divorce from Jenna, I want my father's old watch back."

Bobby chuckled softly.

He waved his hand casually, "About that ... you don't need to worry. I'll give you your watch tomorrow after you sign the divorce papers."

"Besides, I ... don't need it. I only confiscated the watch because you were being annoying at the time," Bobby added.

Mikael didn't respond.

Jenna glanced at her father briefly.

Bobby frowned but quickly smiled again at Mikael, “Now, you should just enjoy this dinner. Consider it my apology for making you uncomfortable during your time as a son-in-law in this family.”

Mikael was stunned.

The current situation reminded him of an incident that had occurred some time ago.

Everything was quite similar.

This made Mikael even more suspicious.

Mikael immediately thought that perhaps they intended to harm him through the food or drinks on the table.

So without touching any of the dishes, Mikael got up from his chair. "Mr. Brown, Mrs. Brown, Jenna. Thank you for the hospitality, but ... I'm not in the mood to eat or drink right now."

Jenna was surprised but didn't know what to do.

"I'm going back to my room now," Mikael added.

Liza quickly rushed to stop her son-in-law, "Wait a minute, Mike. I worked hard to cook all this for you. How can you not want to eat it? You didn't even taste it, even just a little."

"I ... want to thank you for saving my life. At the hospital earlier, I ... I couldn't think clearly, so I spoke carelessly. So, please accept my thanks and eat!" Liza explained.

Bobby, who didn't want his plan to fail, also said, "Liza is right, Mikael. Besides, we don't know when we'll be able to have dinner together again. This ... might be our last family dinner, so ... why are you leaving?"

Mikael was silent.

Seeing how the two of them were holding him like that only increased Mikael's suspicion.

Of course, he wasn't going to let himself be fooled by their pretended concern.

"I'm sorry, but I'm ... really very tired. You know ... I just got out of the hospital and I need more time to rest."

Mikael turned away, but Jenna, who was annoyed, said, "You ... are really very arrogant, Mike."

Mikael stopped walking and turned to the woman who would soon be his ex-wife.

"You never did anything for this family. All you did was live off my family. And ... now that my parents have been kind to you, you arrogantly refuse to accept it. Are you even human?" Jenna gritted her teeth.

Seeing how Jenna spoke, Mikael quickly understood her motive.

It was clear that Jenna wasn't angry because he had ignored his parents' kindness, but because she was afraid that their plan would fail.

Mikael glanced at the cooked salmon and then, still standing, sliced the meat and put it in his mouth.

Bobby held back a smile at Mikael's actions, and Liza looked relieved that her son-in-law had fallen into their trap.

While still chewing, Mikael said, "Are you satisfied?"

Jenna was silent.

Mikael immediately left the dining room and hurried back to his room.

In the dining room, Jenna immediately asked her father, "He only ate a little, Dad. Will it work?"

"It's a deadly poison, Jenna. Even if it's just a little, he'll definitely die," Bobby said with a wry smile.

"The effect is quite slow, but it will definitely work," Liza added.

Bobby nodded, "We'll wait until midnight. Once he's dead, we have to throw his body into the sea."

Jenna suddenly became nervous. But she knew that if they didn't do it, she would never be free from Mikael.

At midnight, Bobby, Liza, and Jenna walked to Mikael's room.

Before they began their plan, Bobby had ordered six of his men to stand guard at the door.

They would, of course, have to carry out the task of disposing of Mikael's body.

They slowly opened the door, which turned out to be unlocked, and entered the room.

The room was dark. They couldn't see anything.

Apparently, Mikael had turned off all the lights in his room.

"Jenna, turn on the lights!" Bobby said .

As soon as the lights were turned on, something unexpected happened.

They saw Mikael leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. "What are you doing in my room? Why did you sneak into this room like a thief?"

Bobby's eyes widened in shock. "You ... how could ...."

"Mikael. You're still alive? How is that possible?" Liza asked with a dumbfounded expression.

Mikael raised his right eyebrow. "What kind of question is that?"

Mikael sighed. "But ... let me explain why I didn't die like you wanted me to."

After eating the salmon, Mikael rushed into the bathroom and vomited all the food that was still in his mouth.

After that, he rinsed his mouth several times and drank a large amount of water.

Jenna was stunned. She never expected Mikael to be so smart.

Seeing the situation beyond her expectations, she immediately shouted. "Guards. Everyone come in!"

Mikael sighed wearily when he saw with his own eyes his wife's treachery.

Several guards had entered, all armed.

Mikael looked lazily at the six large men dressed in all black.

"Just die, you worthless son-in-law!" Bobby said coldly.

Dilon let out a long sigh, his gaze softening as he looked at Arion. “Don’t twist it like that,” he said softly. “You’re still my friend. You always have been. That hasn’t changed.”Arion fell silent for a moment, but his jaw tightened. “But you just said we’re here to compete.”“Yes,” Dilon replied firmly. “As participants, we are rivals. But that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped considering you a friend.”The explanation made sense, but for some reason it only made Arion even more annoyed. There was something in Dilon’s tone-too rational, too cold that made him feel like their relationship was being weighed, not lived.“I don’t like the way you think,” Arion muttered finally.Dilon frowned. “Arion, it’s not what you think. You’re just-”“It really doesn’t matter if you consider me a rival too,” Arion cut in quickly. He turned around, then walked away, choosing to sit on the other side of the room.
