chapter 5

The eldest son of the Wilson family has been locked up in his million dollar beautiful house trying to find ways to eliminate his half brother with no luck, which is taking its toll on him, and as a result he has even forgotten he has an almost falling company to run, thus he is surprised by his receptionist, Tracy, coming to update him on what’s been happening in the office in his absence.

“Boss, things are really bad. Even the small investors that we had are pulling out after reading what the media is writing about you lately. If we don’t find an investor soon, I am afraid things will start falling apart.” announces Tracy sitting by her CEO, Trevor’s couch as she looks at Trevor, who doesn’t seem like himself anymore.

Trevor has been struggling for the past few days, unable to find a solution to his unforeseen dilemma. With that, reality appears to be catching up with him quickly.

He made a promise to his wife that he doesn’t appear to be able to keep because his half brother is steadily destroying him while he has no plan to fight back, which means Elijah may steal her back even if he hasn’t tried yet. Trevor is also realizing that one of the biggest companies he was once happy to take from his half brother is also slowly falling apart, and with his reputation crumbling, there’s no way he can find another investor other than Mr. Brown, who turned out to work for Elijah, and since he would rather burn than let Elijah back into the companies, there might not be a way to save it, which means it’s only a matter of time before the others follow.

Trevor glances at Tracy after hearing her add salt to his wounds.

“As I already stated, I will take care of it.” He responds calmly as he tucks his hands into his long black gown.

Trevor is wearing his nightclothes although6 it is the middle of the day, demonstrating how depressed he has become.

Tracy takes a moment to gaze at her boss before adding,

“But you must act quickly.” She says as to her, it seems like Trevor isn’t taking her seriously, not knowing the fact that he simply has no way to fix this.

“I promised to take care of it!” He yells, swiftly losing his cool.

Even in his weakest state, Trevor is short-tempered and frightening to his employees, making him look to be an even worse employer.

Tracy swiftly nods in response to his hostile comment before fleeing his luxurious house.

Things are not getting any better for Trevor and he can see that, with that, his patience with his private investigator who's supposed to find something on Elijah or how he quickly became a millionaire again is running out.

He yells and pulls out his phone, frantically dialing his number.

The private investigator’s phone rings twice, and he picks up

“Trevor.” He says.

“What do you have for me?” Trevor asks, quickly getting to the point.

For a little while, the private investigator remains silent. Trevor can already tell that whatever his private investigator says won’t be good, which irritates him even more.

“Nothing yet, boss.” He responds, reluctant.

When he hears this, Trevor Yells, throwing his phone off the couch.

While Trevor’s life appears to be crumbling around him, his vengeful half brother continues to plot against him.

The attractive multimillionaire is currently meeting in private with one of the board members of yet another one of Trevor’s firms to continue to plot Trevor’s downfall.

He invited the board member to meet with him to discuss something he hasn’t told him yet, and as a former business partner, Mr. Sanders consented.

“I appreciate you agreeing to meet with me.” Says the gorgeous Elijah, staring at Mr. Sanders, whom he has asked to meet with in one of his unannounced newest offices.

When he hears that, the man seated across from him looks at him.

“What did you want to talk about with me, Elijah Wilson?” He inquires, intrigued why Elijah requested to meet with him, as while having previously worked together, he and Elijah were never friends or close.

The multimillionaire turns to face the man and gets right to the point of their meeting.

“My older half-brother. You’re still on the board of his other company, right?” He asks, his gaze fixed on Mr. Sanders.

“The one that’s falling apart and needs investors?” Mr. Sanders inquires, puzzled why he posed that question.

The handsome Elijah maintains his gaze on him with a half-smile.

“No, the other one.” He replies.

Mr. Sanders returns his gaze for a brief while, as though puzzled why Elijah is interested in his father’s old business.

When Elijah lost his businesses to his brother, all of his employees and partners were saddened because, despite growing up affluent and spoilt, Elijah was compassionate and knew how to treat his people, unlike Trevor, who was filled with rage and always lashed out on everyone.

As a result, if Elijah wanted to purchase back all of his father’s firms, he would have their backing, including Mr. Sanders, who appears to be wondering if Elijah is approaching him about it.

“Yes, I am with Wilson Media.” He responds to Elijah’s question.

Elijah stares at him and smiles briefly before responding.

“Perfect. I want you to do something for me.” He says, surprising Mr. Sanders even more.

Mr. Sanders looks at him for a while saying nothing; what exactly does he want Mr. Sanders to do for him?

It’s been an hour since Mr. Sanders left Elijah’s office. The multimillionaire had been sitting in his chair, his gaze fixated on his laptop, when a handsome tall man who looks nothing like him walks into his office, escorted by the multimillionaire’s bodyguards.

When Elijah sees him, he gets up from his chair and smiles at him.

“You made it.” He chirps as he looks at the man.

The man returns his gaze with a half-laugh.

“I told you I’d make it; how could I disappoint my only cousin?” He laughs, and the multimillionaire rushes over to give him a big hug.

The two gentlemen, who appear to be longtime friends, hug for a moment before the multimillionaire breaks the grip and looks at the man who just referred to him as his cousin, who is still smiling.

“So, have you been keeping up with the news? How have I been doing?” He inquires.

The man returns his gaze.

“Anyone who knows both you and Elijah can vouch for your performance.” He says this while smiling at the handsome multimillionaire recognized by the world as Elijah Wilson.

“You are right, and we have Trevor just where we want him. He will pay for what he has done to Elijah.” With a smile, the handsome multimillionaire says.
