chapter 4

Trevor was instantly reminded of how he stole not only Elijah’s fortune but also his wife and children, and that as a result, Elijah is not only returning to fight for his wealth but also for his family.

Trevor grew outraged and summoned security, who threw Elijah out of his residence. He told him he didn’t want to see him anywhere near his family again, but Elijah, confident in himself, simply laughed at Trevor and told him to get ready because his coming for him and everything Trevor stole for him.

He vowed to make him pay for what he had done to him.

“Trevor Wilson, I’m coming for you. I’m coming for all you took and everything you got, and it won’t be good.”

Trevor recalls Elijah’s words as they dragged him from his home.

Though Trevor was now realizing that his half brother meant business, his arrogance would not allow him to reveal that he was becoming terrified. He needed to appear unfazed and ready for anything, so he yelled.

“You can try, but you’ll fail just like hundreds of times before!” He shouted, trying to remind Elijah of the many times he tried to use the connections he thought he had to find a lawyer who would help him fight Trevor and get back what was rightfully his, as well as fight his ex-wife for custody of his children, but he failed because people he thought were connections and friends turned on him the moment he also lost his wealth, and Elijah couldn’t fight Trevor.

“Trust me, brother, I am more than ready to crush you this time. I’ve already begun, and if you were wise, you would have noticed.” Again, Elijah’s last statement while he was being drugged outside Trevor’s apartment rings in Trevor’s ears.

Trevor is currently standing on his balcony, staring at the passing cars as he tries to come up with a quick way to deal with Elijah while waiting for the private investigator he hired to find out how Elijah quickly became wealthy again so he can expose him and stop him before Elijah attacks him further.

Despite Trevor’s gruff attitude toward his half brother, he is realizing that Elijah means business. His threats frightened him, and he felt he needs to fight back soon before things get worse.

Trevor is still standing on his balcony as his wife shouts whilst she walks up to the balcony.

“Darling! Trevor!”

“What’s going on? Why are you yelling?” Trevor questions as he turns to gaze at her, taken aback by her tone.

Trevor can tell by the look on his wife’s face that whatever she has to say isn’t good.

“Have you seen this before? Have you seen how your name is generating news on television and on social media? Trevor, I thought you said Elijah was bluffing, and that you had this under control!” Leon yells once again as she shows her husband the cellphone in her hands, causing him to frown immediately.

Trevor doesn’t need to look at what’s on his wife’s phone to know it’s awful; he already knows and is beginning to realize that he underestimated Elijah and that Tracy and his board members were correct; Elijah was out to harm Trevor’s reputation, and he is succeeding.

For a brief period, he became deafeningly silent.

“What is going on, Trevor? How is Elijah doing this? He’s supposed to be poor and on the streets, why is he ruining our lives?” asks his wife, putting salt to the wound, when she realizes his silence.

Trevor gives her a brief glance.

“I’ll take care of it. I promise.” He says, hoping to quiet Leon down, but Leon does not appear to be calm.

“How? Your reputation is...” She tries to continue speaking, but Trevor cuts her off by placing his lips on hers and passionately kissing her.

Trevor, who appeared tough and arrogant, is now terrified not just of Elijah destroying him, but also of him reclaiming his ex-wife, therefore he is doing everything he can to prevent this from happening.

As he knows, he only stole Leon from His half brother because his half brother had lost everything. Now that his half brother is no longer torn and Elijah is coming from him like he did with him, he fears Leon will leave him for Elijah, which he cannot have.

His resurrected multimillionaire half brother, who is furious at Trevor for everything he has done, is delighted with the progress he has made on his plan to bring Trevor down and take everything from him.

His even delighted that he has diverted the media’s attention to his brother so that they can assist him in attacking Trevor without asking too many questions about his sudden personal transformation and how he quickly stopped drinking and become a multimillionaire in a short period.

The man knows that, while Trevor actually became a millionaire by stealing everything from him, Trevor is also unscrupulous and associates with dubious people, so if the authorities investigated him, they will undoubtedly find something to charge him with.

That will make life easy for him. Despite this, he will continue to wage war against his half brother.

The multimillionaire is considering taking Leon to court to fight for full custody of his children.

“But I must warn you that this will not be easy; your ex-wife and her new husband, and otherwise your brother, will fight you hard on this. They will go to any length to ensure that you do not win.” According to his well-known pit bull lawyer,

The attractive hunk looks her in the eyes and responds.

“Whatever Trevor and Leon do, I’m getting full custody of those kids, come hell or high water. I can even...”

He says, almost revealing to his lawyer that even if it means bribing the judge, but he soon remembers Trevor is not to be underestimated and that he may have him watched, which could jeopardize everything and swiftly stop.

Gonzales, his bulldog lawyer, peers at him.

“You can even what?” She inquires.

The man smiles as he looks at her.

“Select the best attorneys.” He responds with a fib, forgetting that she is the best lawyer in town whom he has already hired.

When she hears that, advocate Gonzales sighs slightly and looks at him again, saying

“I am the best attorney. and unfortunately, no matter how unfair it sounds, the court prefers to favor moms in circumstances like these.”

When he hears it, he smiles and says, “I know.”

“Good. I will contact you.” advocate Gonzales says, as she exits his office.

A few minutes after the advocate has left the man’s office, he was astonished to see a familiar face enter his office. Jeremy Wilson, Elijah’s son.

“Jeremy.” He says this as he rises from his chair and looks at the 13-year-old child who is staring at him with sad eyes.

For a few while, the boy glances at him saying nothing.

“Are you all OK, Jeremy?” He inquires.

“How could I be when all I had to hear from the media was that my father is no longer an alcoholic and is rich again?” Jeremy, Elijah’s son with Leon, asks.

When he visited Trevor’s house and got kicked out, Only Elijah’s daughter Layla was present. His son Jeremy wasn’t hence his reaction when seeing him for the first time in a long time

Even though Jeremy’s not happy by his father’s actions,

“But you know why it has to be that way. Your mother has forbidden me from seeing you and your sister. I even came yesterday. You weren’t there and Trevor kicked me out.”

“Yesterday? When did you get back, Dad? You couldn’t even tell me a few days ago. You know you didn’t have to come to the house to visit me because we had a secret meeting place and I always sneaked out to see you even when you were alcoholic and broke, but then you became a millionaire you forgot about me.”

Jeremy and Elijah are so close that even when Elijah was a laughingstock to many, he was still daddy Elijah to his son Jeremy, which is why Jeremy is so disappointed to only hear about his mighty return in the news.

“Jeremy, please accept my apologies.” apologies the millionaire.

Jeremy glances at him for a time and notices no regret in his eyes, as he usually does when Elijah apologizes.

“No, you do not.” He says this while looking back at him with sad eyes.

Jeremy is an emotive person who struggles to conceal his pain.

“I am, Jeremy, and I’m trying to make things right; I spoke with a lawyer about fighting for custody of you and your sister.”

For a moment, Jeremy looks at him saying nothing. As if he’s taken aback by everything.

“How did you regain your millionaire status, Dad?” he finally inquires.

“I’ve never...” He tries to lie, but Jeremy cuts him off before he can finish his sentence.

“Seriously? You’re trying to sell me the same nonsense you’ve been peddling to the media?” Jeremy laughs. “I actually thought we were closer and trusted each other more than that. I guess I was mistaken.” He yells before angrily rushing out of the office, leaving the man to yell.

“Jeremy! Wait!” He yells, attempting to get Jeremy to alter his mind and stop, but Jeremy appears to be too upset to care.

“Do not bother!” He responds by shouting back before disappearing, leaving the man to continue shouting to stop him.
