"What's the catch?" Shaun asked, his eyes narrowing.
[Unfortunately, the system couldn't give the user unlimited power right away. The user has to upgrade it by performing quests.]
Shaun wasn't sure how to describe the emotions he was feeling hearing those words. On the one hand, he couldn't believe that the system had actually tried to give him unlimited power right off the bat. They barely knew each other, and it thought that was the right course of action. Honestly, it was a bit terrifying. IF he had been someone with fewer morals, it would have ended badly.
On the other hand, it was nice receiving support from someone other than his parents from his previous life. He couldn't remember the last time an outsider helped him without any ulterior motives. Just thinking about how he was a complete loner with no real friends was depressing. The less he thought about how much his social life sucked, the better.
He nodded and asked, "Then what can I do right now?"
[The user can see the status of everyone around them. However, the user can only see the full details of those weaker than the user. The user can also see a difficulty rating. The rating goes from Common to Godly. Common is an easy target, while Godly is an impossible target.]
That seemed simple enough. "I assume future quests will be like the one you just gave me."
[Quest]
[Path of Revenge]
[You have suffered greatly through your two lives, and it's time to repay everyone for their actions.]
[Get revenge on at least one target within the week.]
[You will be rewarded once the week is over.]
Well, that answered that question, he mused. "What counts as revenge?"
[That depends on the user. Also, the better the revenge, the better the rewards.]
In that case, he had a few ideas on who he could target. It was unfortunate that he couldn't get his revenge on some individuals right away. He had no doubt their difficulty would be high, and he wasn't in a good position to get away with his revenge if he acted on it. For now, he needed to aim for weaker targets and further his position.
Looking back at where the heroes were, he muttered, "I swear I will get my revenge."
After calming himself down, Shaun forced himself to return back to where everyone was. He needed to know when his family intended to leave so he wouldn't be left behind. Just as he entered the room, he was suddenly flooded with all kinds of information. Screens popped up next to each person, displaying all kinds of information, from names to weaknesses.
Of course, many of them only displayed question marks. That was to be expected since the majority of the people inside were labeled Rare and higher. He grumbled when he saw that most of the heroes were Epic or Legendary. It was frustrating, but there was nothing he could do about it. Instead, he scanned to see those who were labeled Common.
Shaun was surprised to see that his half sisters had a Common difficulty. He had thought they would at least be Uncommon. All their stats were even displayed, but he looked away as he saw that some of them were quite disturbing. He didn't need to know what their preferences were. They were still his sisters, even if only half. There was no need for him to know what they liked in a man.
He shuddered. The system better not think he would want to pursue his sister. There were lines that shouldn't be crossed. Shaun refused to stoop that low to get revenge. Instead, he observed his two brothers. One of them was Uncommon while the other was rated Epic. Their father was also rated Epic. He would have to wait to get revenge on them.
Turning his attention back to what was happening, he saw how the prince was trying to bridge the gap between the heroes and the nobility. Considering who the heroes were, Shaun wasn't surprised to see that it wasn't working. The heroes were just angering the nobles with every word that escaped their mouths. Well, he couldn't blame all the heroes.
The other five were clearly good people, as they looked disgusted with the others. They must have wanted to tell the rest to stop. Unfortunately, in situations like this, the majority ruled. None of them dared speak up, as they probably sensed that things wouldn't go too well for them if they dared go against them. It was the smart thing to do.
Shaun combed through the crowd to do some more reconnaissance when he noticed someone staring in his direction. At first, he thought nothing of it as he made sure to commit to memory the targets he should aim for. However, it became apparent that their gaze was following him. It was almost as if they could see him. He immediately checked to see if he was wearing the Invisibility Ring.
It was still on his ring finger. Even without checking, he would have known if it stopped working since everyone would see him moving around when everyone was supposed to stay where they were. Unable to take it anymore, he turned his attention to the girl staring at him. The hero stared right back with a peculiar expression on her face. Could it be that she could really see him? Was this thanks to some skill she had?
In that case, he was really lucky that it wasn't one of his bullies or ex girlfriends who saw him. However, he couldn't be sure. To confirm whether or not she could really see him, he headed towards her. She started as she took a small step back and looked away. That was all he needed to confirm that she really saw him. He needed to nip this in the bud. It would be really bad if she spread around what she saw to everyone.

Chapter 19: Trauma
Instantly, everything had gone back to normal. Shaun was no longer looking at himself and his demonic looking bullies. He blinked several times as he looked for someone who had spoken up. His eyes fell on a familiar man. It was one of the other heroes. Shaun hadn't expected any of them to step up and interfere when the majority of the heroes were in the same group.A part of him felt bitter. Back in his first life, no one had stepped up for him. Everyone always looked away, as they had been afraid to be the new target if they interfered. Of course he would have done the same, but it still left a bitter aftertaste knowing that no one had been willing to help him. No one had even tried like the hero was currently doing."What do you want?" one of the bullies asked. "Can't you see we're busy?""Why are you bothering him? He's trying to do his job," a woman said as she crossed her arms."We're heroes. It's his job to serve us," one of the female bullies said.
Chapter 18: Chance Encounter
Becky's face burned from humiliation. It wasn't her fault that she had dirtied her clothes in the heat of the moment. Shaun had been looming over her with the threat of death hanging over her neck. If it weren't for that, she would have never made such a mess of herself. Then she realized the other part of his sentence as her face scrunched up in confusion again."I'm returning to the mansion? You're letting me go?" she asked. He scoffed. "Do you really think I'll let you go without any consequences? No. You said it yourself. You'll do anything to live, so you're my slave now.""What?" Becky blurted out as she scrambled to her feet. "What are you talking about?""It's just as I said. You dared to cross me, so you're paying the price. You're my slave until I decide to get rid of you," he said. She stared at him for several long moments before saying, "You can't be serious. Slavery isn't even legal in the kingdom.""If it involves magic, it's binding," he reminded her. While it was true
Chapter 17: Second Target Acquired
"What?" Becky blurted out."You heard me. I want you to submit to me and do my bidding. It's the least you can do after everything you've done," Shaun said."I don't know what you're talking about. What have I done to deserve this?" Becky said as her eyes darted around."Don't play dumb." Shaun pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket and watched Becky become pale. "You've been selling information about the mansion to anyone willing to pay. You understand what that means, right?""Y-you're wrong," she stammered. "I'm loyal to the family."Shaun scoffed. "Don't even bother. I know there aren't any loyal bones in any of the servants. They only care about what profits them."Seeing that she wasn't going to convince him that she was loyal, she switched tactics. "Fine. I did share gossip, but that's it. There's nothing wrong with gossip.""That's true if it was simple gossip. You might not have been selling top secret information, but you still revealed a few of your masters' habits." H
Chapter 16: Confronting the Second Target
Seeing Kellie turn pale, Shaun smirked. It seemed that she hadn't considered how bad things would turn out for her if his disappearance was discovered. Depending on how she did her job and how his orders affected her actions, she would be the prime suspect in his disappearance. She might even be killed, so if she didn't want that to happen, she needed to do her job properly.Of course, that was on the assumption that anyone would notice his disappearance. Shaun doubted it, but he had Kellie cover for him for a reason. Even though he doubted she would be needed, it never hurt to be careful. It was better to be overprepared than to be underprepared. He refused to screw up after making so many preparations because of one simple thing."Dismissed," he ordered.Reluctantly, she left. Kellie clearly wanted to know more or protest, but she no longer had that kind of power. With her gone, Shaun got prepared for his trip outside the mansion. He knew a few ways to get outside without getting ca
Chapter 15: Several Days Later
[Why didn't the user retaliate? Doesn't the user want revenge against her?]"Of course," Shaun muttered. "However, it's not that simple."[You got revenge on the maid.]"You might not understand since you're not human, but it's not that simple. I could have slapped her back or blackmailed her to leave me alone. However, the consequences wouldn't be worth it. I would know," he said as he recalled his past life.Shaun hadn't been a complete punching bag in the beginning. When he was first being bullied, he did try to push back. Well, not right away. Shaun originally thought they would leave him alone if he ignored them. Of course, that wasn't what happened. Instead, they saw it as him being a doormat. That's when he changed tactics. Surely, they would leave him alone if they thought he wasn't worth targeting. In fact, he had tried to collect evidence of their bullying to report them. That should have surely scared them off if they knew they were going to get in trouble. Unfortunately, t
Chapter 14: A Slap to the Face
Unfortunately, Shaun was forced to stop following her when he saw that she had returned to the kitchens. There was no way he could confront her while there were other servants around. He would need to find another opportunity. Luckily, one of the weaknesses the system gave him was a certain habit of hers that would leave her vulnerable to him.Seeing that he had no reason to stay there, he chose to head back to his room. Wandering the halls any longer would only make him suspicious, as he typically stayed in his room except for a few occasions. Slowly making his way back to his room, he ignored the servants he passed by. However, that was just an appearance he was putting on. Out of the corner of his eye, he made sure to memorize as much as he could about the servants he passed by.While he was in his room, he could come up with more plans and strategies for other targets to pass the time. Shaun knew better than to put all his eggs in one basket. An opportunity could also appear when
