After waking up from an accident, Shaun Rodriquez was able to deduce two things. The first was that he reincarnated into a game he had played before as the illegitimate son of a baron. The second was that those that had wronged him in his first life were summoned as heroes. With the memories of two lifetimes and the support of the system, Shaun swore he was going to live the life he deserved and that started with getting revenge on everyone who had ever harmed him.

Chapter 1: Waking Up to a New Life

Shaun woke up with a gasp, sitting up as he tried to catch his breath. His hands scrambled to his chest, feeling for his injuries, but there was nothing there. Staring down at his perfectly intact body, he still couldn't wrap his mind around it.

This couldn't be right. He remembered clearly that he had died, and in a gruesome manner at that. Just thinking about his death made his stomach churn, but for two different reasons.

His bullies had cornered him when he was trying to study in the library for his exam. Even though he had wanted to avoid them, they hadn't given him a choice and had pushed him to join them. Of course, the librarian had been no help and had even urged him to get out so he wouldn't cause any more trouble in the library.

Shaun scowled. While he may be an adult, he was still a student at the college. She could have at least shown some signs of care or done something about it.

If she had, he might not have died because of the messed up idea his bullies had come up with. They even had the gall to look shocked at what happened. What did they think was going to happen if they forced someone to drink a bottle of alcohol and cross a busy street? It was inevitable that he would get hit by a car and die from being run over.

He ran a hand over his unmarred chest, unable to understand how he was alive without any scars. Actually, now that he thought about it, wasn't his chest a bit more muscular than before? Running his hands over his body, he definitely felt like he gained some muscles. He was pretty sure that wasn't what normally happened after getting hit by a car.

Finally taking a look at his surroundings, he saw that he wasn't in a hospital. In fact, it looked like a bedroom. Did his bullies take his body and throw him there so they wouldn't get in trouble? He shook his head. That wasn't likely. They would have just left his body on the street and run for it so they wouldn't be arrested for murder.

A knock on the door drew his attention, and he watched as the door opened to reveal a maid. The woman took one look at him and tsked. Unsure how he was supposed to react, he blinked. She wasn't in any hurry to say anything to him as she went towards the desk to drop the bowl of water she had in her hand. The water sloshed around and spilled over the edges.

She turned around and glared at him as she said, "Well? Are you going to get up or not?"

Still confused about what she was going on about, he dumbly said, "What?"

"You heard me," she snapped. "It's a busy day today. Get moving."

While he wanted to demand to know what was going on, he didn't dare say a word as he got to his feet. He currently had no clue where he was or what his kidnappers wanted. The best he could guess was that a creep must have found his body and decided to take it home with them.

That didn't explain how he was in perfect health, but he figured that he had other more important things to worry about, like what his kidnapper wanted with him. His mind instantly conjured up some pretty horrific ideas. He shuddered as he walked towards the maid, who had her arms crossed, and tapped a finger on her arm.

"Hurry up," she snapped again.

With no clue what she wanted, he was forced to ask, "What do you want me to do?"

The maid gave him a look of disbelief before she said, "Wash your face already and get dressed."

That explained the bowl of water. Dipping his hands into the bowl, he hissed when he found it to be cold. Looking at the maid, she just glared at him to hurry up. Sucking it up, he splashed his face with the cold water. If he hadn't been awake before, he certainly was now. The cold water acted like a trigger, causing memories that didn't belong to him to flash before his eyes.

The maid didn't seem to notice as she pushed him aside to snatch up the bowl and said, "Now get dressed. Don't keep the baron and the others waiting."

Shaun ignored her, which she didn't seem to notice as she marched out without a glance back. Water dripped down his face since she didn't even think to leave him a towel. Raising an arm to dry his face on his sleeve, he tried to calm his racing heart as he thought about the memories he had witnessed. At first, he had thought the memories belonged to someone else, but he was wrong. They were his memories.

He had indeed died, but he reincarnated as Shaun Rodriquez, the illegitimate son of Baron Rodriquez. It was odd that the person he reincarnated as had the same name as him in his previous life. However, that wasn't important. What was important was that he was basically the unwanted child of the family. As the youngest of five siblings, there were no expectations for him to succeed the family.

Well, even if he wasn't the youngest, his illegitimate status made him the most loathed member of the family. No one wanted him to become the head of the family, which was probably the reason for his "accident" yesterday. He didn't believe for a second that he fell and hit his head on the stairs by accident. Someone had set him up. Whether it was to kill him or simply to make his life miserable, he wasn't sure.

What he was more certain of was that hitting his head on the stairs might be the reason why he finally regained his memories of his previous life, though it was a bit delayed. Shaun had no clue why he didn't remember right away, but none of that mattered. What mattered was that he had his memories and needed to figure out what to do with them.

[Don't worry, dear user. The system can help you with all your problems.]
