THE DRAGON BLOOD

Mrs Henderson couldn't take the sight before her anymore. . Her face paled and her hands trembled as she pointed at him.

Ahh!”

She screamed at the top of her lungs and collapsed to the floor.

The bodyguard outside the door heard the scream and burst into the room, his gun drawn and aimed directly at Ethan. His face was tense, his finger hovering over the trigger.

But before he could act, a low, rumbling sound filled the air. It was deep and powerful, like the growl of a beast. Everyone froze, their eyes darting around in confusion.

The sound grew louder, and then they saw it—a massive helicopter hovering above the building, its rotors slicing through the air. It was sleek and black.

Several red laser dots appeared on the bodyguard’s chest, forcing him to lower his weapon. He hesitated, then stepped back, his face laced with frustration and fear.

The helicopter descended, its powerful downdraft whipping through the lobby. The doors slid open, and a woman stepped out.

She was tall and elegant, her movements graceful and deliberate. She saw Ethan's  golden eyes, and was surprised to perform a court ceremony for him.

She quickly bowed respectfully.

“Sir Siegfried,” she said, her voice filled with reverence. “It is an honor to finally meet you.”

Ethan was taken aback. He had no idea who this woman was or why she was calling him by that name. But before he could ask, she stood and gestured toward the helicopter. “Please, come with me. There is much to discuss.”

Ethan hesitated, glancing back at his mother-in-law, who was still on the floor, and the bodyguard, who was now disarmed and visibly shaken.

The woman followed his gaze and gave a small, dismissive wave. “They are no longer your concern,” she said. “Your destiny lies elsewhere.”

Something in her tone compelled him to follow. He stepped into the helicopter, the woman close behind.

As the doors closed and the helicopter lifted into the air, Ethan felt a strange sense of detachment. The life he had known was slipping away, replaced by something far more mysterious and far more dangerous.

The woman sat across from him, her piercing gaze studying him intently. “You must have many questions,” she said. “But first, let me introduce myself. I am the one you spoke with before, about the transaction. My name is Samantha!

I'm a descendant of the one who bathed in dragon blood.

Let's not talk about me. What matters is who you are.”

Ethan frowned, confused about her statement. “Who am I? I’m just..”

“No,” the young lady interrupted. “You are not ‘just’ anything. You are Sir Siegfried, the descendant of the Dragon Blood Man. Your lineage is ancient and powerful. The blood that flows through your veins is not merely human—it is the blood of dragons.”

Ethan stared at her, his mind racing. He remembered the blood-red liquid that had gushed from the shattered gem, the burning pain as it entered his body, and the surge of strength that followed. Could it be true? Could he really be connected to something so extraordinary?

Samantha continued, her voice steady and confident. “Long ago, your ancestors were warriors blessed with magical abilities. They were protectors, healers, and leaders. But over time, the bloodline weakened, and the powers faded. Until now. The dragon blood has awakened within you. With it, you can restore the glory of the Dragon Blood Family and save your sister.”

Ethan’s heart skipped a beat. “My sister? What do you mean? What’s wrong with her?”

Before the woman could answer, his phone rang. He pulled it out and saw his wife’s name on the screen. He hesitated, then answered.

“Hey Ethan, you have the effrontery to beat my brother to stupor! Have you forgotten Logan is still a child? His strength and power can't be compared to yours?”

Ethan was stunned by Celine’s utterance. She was really despicable. Logan is still a child? Someone that was about to kill him with a knife.

He chuckled inwardly. Celine was indeed shameless.

“You dare break my brother's backbone! I'm going to sue you for this! You should wait for my revenge, useless man!”

Her voice was sharp and angry, filled with accusations and demands. She berated him for his behavior, for leaving, for everything.

Ethan listened in silence, his grip tightening on the phone. He didn't bother to say anything, he was totally pissed by her attitude.

“I will be waiting for your revenge, Celine!”

With that, he ended the call and tossed the phone out of the helicopter.

Samantha watched him, a faint smile playing on her lips. “You are beginning to understand,” she said. “Your old life no longer holds you. Your true purpose awaits.”

The helicopter flew for what felt like hours, finally landing in an exquisite manor surrounded by lush gardens and towering trees.

The estate was grand and imposing, a testament to the wealth and power of its owners.

As they stepped out, an old man approached, accompanied by a group of servants. He bowed deeply, his expression a mix of respect and unease.

“Welcome, Sir Siegfried,” the old man said. “I am Matthew, the housekeeper of this manor. We have been expecting you, sir.”

Ethan nodded, his eyes scanning the surroundings.

“Where is the young lady?” Ethan asked, his voice firm.

The housekeeper hesitated, glancing at the woman who had accompanied Ethan. “The young lady is inside,” he said carefully.

“But there is something you should know. Another team of doctors has arrived. They were brought by a friend of the lady. They are currently attending to her.”

Samantha’s eyes narrowed. “What?” she snapped. “We had an agreement. I was to bring Sir Siegfried to treat her. Why don't you inform me about this?”

Matthew shifted uncomfortably. “I… I was not informed until recently. I apologize for disrespecting you, ma'am!.”

Ethan stepped forward, his presence commanding. “It doesn’t matter,” he said.

“The young lady’s condition is not something ordinary doctors can fix. They are really useless to her. Take me to her.”

Samantha and Matthew, the housekeeper exchanged a glance, but neither argued.

They wondered how he knew about the young lady's sickness when he hadn't set his eyes on her.

They led him into the manor, through grand halls and up a sweeping staircase.

When they reached her room, Ethan paused at the door. Ethan could feel the weight of his newfound power, the dragon blood coursing through his veins.

Ethan's fingers trembled as he gripped its cold, metallic edge on the man's face with all of his power. He had expected resistance—some mechanical lock or invisible force—but this was different. The mask breathed. It pulsed faintly against his touch, like a second skin bound by will, not metal. He was astounded at this revelation, and he wondered how possible this could be. He tried pulling with all his strength again, but he wasn't successful. The mask was like a rock that couldn't be pulled easily from its position. A thrum of dark energy rippled through the air as if something ancient coiled within the villain’s flesh, guarding his identity like a venomous sentinel.“This isn’t just an ordinary mask,” Ethan muttered to himself. “It's something more! Something I can't even explain!" Before he could process it further, Rebecca grabbed his arm and pulled him aside, her grip firm. Her usually composed face was tight with fear and worries. Ethan, fazed by her actions, snatched his

"What are you waiting for? Get out! You don't deserve me anyways, you are just useless!” She spat disparagingly. “Okay then, I hope you don't regret your decision, Celine!" He muttered, his heart heavy with hurt and disappointment. With that, he opened the door and stepped out into the hallway, leaving behind the life he had once known. “Hello, why are you disturbing me, Celine?" His voice tinged with annoyance. On the other end, his wife’s voice was sharp and furious, each word dripping with anger and accusation. “You miscreant, where have you been? I have been trying to reach you but to no avail. Do you switch off your phone because of me? Are you trying to make me angry?” Ethan chuckled at his wife's irate words. He totally forgot he had thrown his phone out of the helicopter earlier. The reason she could get through to him. “I found the woman’s contact information through the helicopter that had taken him away. Who the fuçk is that woman? Why is a helicopter here because of you?” Celine demanded, “I don't think you need to be concerned about that. We are not together anymore, you don't deserve to know anything!” Ethan mumbled. Celine was fuming over the phone, she never expected to speak to her in that manner. “You’re a coward, Ethan,” she spat, her voice trembling with rage. “You can’t even face reality

Ethan, a man in his early thirties with sharp features and a calm demeanor, sat behind his mahogany desk. His fingers tapped lightly on the polished surface as he held the phone to his ear. The voice on the other end was tense, almost anxious."How is our deal going?" Ethan asked, his tone steady but laced with authority and power. There was a brief pause before the voice replied, "We agreed before that we would help your wife's company go public, and you would give me what we need, right?"Ethan leaned back in his chair, his eyes narrowing slightly.
