Disowned

“What was that?”

This question was directed at a 19-year-old boy with blue eyes and short pony-tailed hair.

Despite his unhealthy looks, this boy was very handsome with pale white skin and the fury and sadness burning in his eyes could not be mistaken and right now, he was currently kneeling, not of his own will, but he was being forced to do so by the two burly men beside him.

“I said you should all apologize for what you did to my mother. Her death is on your hands.”

Tears trickled down his eyes with his words directed at all the people here, most especially the man seated directly in front of him, whose eyes were emotionless while staring at the kneeling figure.

Charles, the boy who was on his knees and was once considered a part of this family was driven away with his mother by them or more specifically, the man in front of him who was the head of this household and also his father.

This happened two years ago, and it was barely a year later that his mum ended up dying in a mysterious way, leaving him alone.

He has been trying to meet them all like this and get them to apologize for what they caused.

Their apology wasn’t going to bring her back, but he still demanded for it. After all, they didn’t seem to care even after she died.

He loved his mother so much and even looked a lot like her with many features like his eye colour and the way he wore his hair, so the scars and sorrows of losing her didn’t seem like something that would ever go away.

“Look at him,” one of the women here said in disgust.

Excluding him and the two men holding him down, there was a total of seven people here.

Four were children and young adults, while three were adults.

The three adults here were his father, Annabelle, who was the second wife after his mother, and the woman who had just spoken up, also his aunt.

Right from time, they’ve always disliked him. He didn’t know why and believed that it was because of something that happened before his birth, and honestly, he never gave a damn about it, until now.

He wouldn’t be so shocked if he finds out that they were behind his mother’s death.

“I can’t believe you came all the way here just to spew nonsense. Why should we apologize for the death of that hag.”

Charles's eyes widened as he looked towards the person who just said this with killing intent.

She was Helen, one of the younger four here being slightly older than him and by their resemblance, it was easy to know that she was the daughter of Annabelle.

Charles tried standing up in an attempt to attack her. There was no way he could watch his mother get insulted. But this was futile as his strength was no way near that of the men and all he earned was getting pressed down to the ground more.

“What’s with that reaction? To think your mother breaded an animal, maybe we should’ve gotten rid of both of you earlier. Don’t you think so dear?” She looked towards her husband who was yet to say a word, just staring at the boy in front of him.

“You’re all demons. No! Even demons would be surprised at you. Why did you kick us out? Why!”

The eyes of the man who was seated narrowed.

“Argh! So noisy. Why is he even still here.”

A girl about his age sighed while dramatically covering her ears, and of course, Charles didn’t pay any attention to her waiting for the answer from his so-called father who shortly after, stood up from the luxurious chair he was seated on.

Only at first glance, anyone could tell that this was a very wealthy family. From the contents of the room to the clothes worn by everyone.

Excluding him of course.

He halted when he was a meter away from his kneeling son, towering above him. After some seconds, he opened his mouth to speak.

“You come into my house like a filthy rat just to haul out nonsense in my presence. You really are an unredeemable trash. I made a mistake giving you the name of a family such as this.

My name.

So today I would be stripping that away from you.”

Charles was slightly shocked hearing this.

“You mean you want to disown me?”

“I should have done this a long time ago. From now henceforth, Charles is no longer a member of this family and can’t use our family name for anything. If so, he would be met with severe punis…”

“Hahahaha,” Charles busted into laughter. “I was never able to use it in the first place. I agree with you on not just spouting it out earlier,” he said in amusement.

“Have you gone crazy,” Anabelle yelled in anger which Charles didn’t even bother reacting to.

“Do not interrupt me when I’m speaking boy,” the man in front of him, no longer his father glared.

“You would be given 100,000 dollars as compens…”

“I don’t need your damn money,” Charles cut him short once more causing a deep frown to form on his face.

The man leaned closer to him. “You must have a death wish, but I won’t grant it just yet.”

“Dad, I see no need to spend that much on him. Just throw him out penniless like before,” Helen voiced out.

She had always had a venomous tongue and a dangerous thinking process.

“I already planned on doing that. Take him out of my house and I never want to see him anywhere near here again,” he ordered the two men who wasted no time in lifting him in ease and taking him away.

Charles remained quiet while this happened, not even struggling.

He didn’t plan on shouting and cursing while being taken out.

Only the sinister look in his eyes was enough to know that, surely, the day would come when he would return for revenge and retribution.

It seemed impossible right now as this was a powerful family, and he was no more than a common boy.

But when that day comes, no one and nothing would save them.
