Shock rumbled across Abigail's face. For some seconds, she couldn't move her feets because the doctor's statement came like a Thunderbolt of joy, striking her heart and making her feet glued to the marble floor like the arms of an octopus gripping an object.

“You said you're transferring my mother to the VIP ward..like.. you'll treat her for free?" Abigail winked, disbelief laced in her voice.

Dr. Hex simply smiled and said. “Someone was kind enough to pay for her treatment."

“Someone?" Her brow creased, her confusion evidence.

Her mind spiralled with different thoughts. First, she was miraculously released from the station by someone and now again, someone who she didn't even know just paid for her mother's treatment.

“I should appreciate the kind person..I need to see her." Abigail said, taking a step closer to the doctor.

“According to the nurse who received the payment, it's him and not her and the person didn't even reveal his name." He Said.

Whoever the person may be, Abigail concluded he's an angel and deep inside she appreciated the kind gesture because it came at the time she was desperate to save her mother.

Nonetheless, after seeing her mother transferred to the VIP ward, she was totally relieved that her mum would eventually be fine so she met the nurse in the lobby who Elijah met earlier.

A smile formed on her lips immediately she sighted Rose. “Good day Miss Rose..How may I help you ma? I'll be glad to help if you need anything." She said politely, her inviting gesture surprising Rose.

“I just need to ask you something."

“What's that ma'am?" The nurse shifted on her seat.

Rose gulped hard. “I heard someone paid for my mother's treatment. Please can you tell me who?" Curiosity glinted in her eyes like twinkling stars.

“He didn't reveal his name..but I think he's just a Stranger...I mean someone you don't know." The nurse stated and Rose exhaled deeply, thinking about who could have been kind enough to offer such a huge favour to someone he didn't even know.

“Alright. Thanks." Rose said and left.

Meanwhile, at West Bank, Kate remembered she left her phone at the manager's office so she left her seat to retrieve it.

Robert, the manager was typing furiously on the keyboard of the computer before him, his eyes deeply engrossed on the screen as if what he was doing on the computer was a matter of life and death.

Kate's phone which was at a side on the table chimed, breaking not only the silence but also diverting the attention of the manager.

“Jezz!!" He lamented over the interruption but his face was still engrossed on the screen as he reached out to the phone which lay at a side and picked it up, forgetting it wasn't his but Kate's.

Before he could speak, a cracking laughter broke out from the other end which fully cut off the manager's attention from the screen.

“Your boss is really a fool, babe. The old fool will never find out about the $100,000." The voice said, his laughter with no end in sight.

Confusion etched all over Robert's face.

“I promise to double it for you babe.. We've hit the jackpot." The laughter at the other end died down when he noticed Kate wasn't replying to his conversation. “Hello babe..are you there..Kate? Hello?"

Robert Clenched his fist as anger convulsed through his body. It was definitely Kate who meddled with the bank fund!

A knock came on the door and Kate entered inside with a smile on her face but seeing her phone glued to the manager's ear, the smile dropped from her face and fear made her whole body tremble.

The manager simply stretched the phone to her. “Here, you have a call." He said, his expression unreadable and cold.

With a quivering hand, Kate collected the phone slowly. When he stared at the screen, her fear doubled and the tension in her heart tripled, almost driving her crazy.

“Go Ahead, talk to him." Robert leaned back on the chair, his expression indifferent.

With a trembling hand, Kate took the phone to her ear slowly to hear the voice of her lover.

“Hello kate.. Whatsup..who is that speaking beside you.. aren't you happy. We'll eventually secure the contract.."

“Hello..who is this..and what contract are you talking about..this is clearly a wrong number." Kate smartly cut, seeing he had been apprehended by the manager but giving up wasn't her thing.

The manager was taken aback by her statement. How could she not know the caller when he clearly mentioned her name and she even saved his number as ‘My sunshine.'

What a foolish lier who thought she's smart!

Robert simply nodded with a knowing grin on his lips and called the cops.

“Come to my office now. You need to arrest someone." He dropped the call and leaned back.

Kate dropped the call and stepped closer to his desk, keeping a composed stance as if nothing ever happened.

“Are we arresting a thief sir?" She raised her brow, keeping a calm demeanor though her heart raced within seeing the cold expression on the manager's face.

“No Kate. I'm arresting a thief and you're the one." He simply said.

Kate's eyes widened and a feigned shocking expression occurred on her face.

“What are you talking about si...." She was interrupted by the door of the office which was opened by two police men.

“They'll answer your question when you get to the station. Arrest her!" Robert ordered.

The policemen cuffed her and led her out but she struggled with them. “No..it's not what you're thinking sir..this is clearly a mistake.. I didn't take the money.." She kept ranting as they forcefully pushed her out till her voice faded away.

“What a perfect lier! Rose needs to be released. She's innocent." He mumbled conclusively and stood up, grabbed his car key on the table and followed the police men out.

Elijah had gotten a new phone and also retrieved his sim card after a series of troubles at the phone store. Immediately he stepped out of the store, his phone rang and it was his mum calling.

He smiled and picked the call to hear her mum's voice almost bursting the speaker of the phone.

“Hello Elijah..your Fiancee has been Arrested!! You need to go to the station now and bail her!!"

A deep frown etched all over his face . “Finacee?? What fiancee!?"

His mum had once told him he has a Betrothed whom she wants him to marry. He thought she was only joking not until this moment.

He exhaled deeply.

Elijah is not ready to reveal his identity to anymore not until someone passes his test and prove their worthiness.

“It's not yet time to reveal myself now. Alex should go to the station instead." He mused and called Alex immediately and informed him about the matter at hand.

Obeying Elijah's instruction, Alex went to the station to bail the unknown woman who is Elijah's betrothed.

“I told you I never did it! I'm innocent!!” The lady raised her voice as a police man was removing her cuff.

It was no other person but Kate. She's Elijah's betrothed.
