Grey pointed at Mr. Bobby who had just entered the room and walked confidently to stand beside Sonia. His eyes narrowed as anger surged in his chest. He could barely hold himself back.

“That’s him,” Grey said, his voice cold and clear. “That’s the man Sonia was cheating on me with in her office.”

Everyone’s head turned sharply, and even Grandma’s eyes widened.

Mr Bobby glanced sideways at Sonia, clearly shocked.

The whole room fell quiet. People looked at the pair, mouths open in surprise. Some guests exchanged looks, others whispered to each other.

Sonia’s cousin couldn’t help the little smirk curling on her lips.

Grandma cleared her throat. “Sonia,” she said slowly. “Is this true?”

Sonia quickly shook her head, trembling as she spoke. “No, Grandma! He’s lying! He wants to disgrace me. He’s just trying to ruin me after cheating on me himself.”

Mr Bobby looked at Sonia, then stepped forward and raised his hands slightly. “Wait, what’s going on here? Sonia, what are they talking about?”

Sonia gave a short nod and leaned closer to him. “He’s saying I cheated on him… with you.”

Mr Bobby’s face turned pale. He instantly understood what Grey was talking about. The visit to the company.

He clenched his fists at his sides, then flashed Grey a deadly glare. He hated him for interrupting that day. He hated him even more for bringing it up now.

“That’s nonsense!” Mr Bobby snapped suddenly. “A complete lie!”

Grandma turned to him. “And what is your name, young man?”

“I’m Bobby Loren, ma’am,” he answered quickly, adjusting his collar.

“And what is your relationship with my granddaughter?”

“I’m her boss. I own the firm she works for. We had a meeting at the office regarding a possible business deal with your family’s company. That was the only reason we were in the office together.”

The crowd started nodding slowly.

Sonia exhaled quietly, her palm resting on her forehead as she tried to calm herself. She had thought the worst had passed, but now things were crumbling again.

Mr. Bobby continued speaking with a serious tone. “Our company is about to partner with your family. A very large investment deal worth millions is on the table. I went to her office to deliver the confidential documents myself. That’s all.”

Some people in the crowd even started to applaud lightly.

“She’s hardworking and professional,” he added. “There’s nothing between us outside of business.”

Grey bit his lower lips, refusing to speak. He could already see the shift in the air.

Sonia looked up at her family, pretending to wipe her tears. She played her role well.

“Then what about the voice record he claimed to have?” one of the cousins asked.

“It was fake,” Bobby said without missing a beat. “I don’t know what kind of software he used, but it’s completely edited. Deepfake technology is very dangerous nowadays.”

Sonia nodded in agreement, quickly adding, “He probably created it to blackmail me or to ruin my image here because he knew everyone would be present.”

Gasps rose from the guests. A few people muttered words like “evil” and “desperate.”

Bobby looked around at the room. “And let me remind everyone, our company was about to offer your family a joint deal worth over ten million dollars. Why would I risk that over something foolish like this?”

Everyone stared at him in admiration. They believed every word he said. People started whispering praises.

“Such a calm and honest man.”

“He sounds very professional.”

“No wonder he owns a big company.”

One of Sonia’s uncles stepped forward and clapped Bobby on the back. “We are honored to have you here, sir. Don’t worry about that boy. He’s not one of us.”

Grey stood there, watching it all unfold. Everything was being turned against him.

Bobby smiled faintly and stepped beside Grandma. “Madam, I am so sorry about this mess. I truly respect your granddaughter, and I respect your family. I hope this won’t affect the business relationship we were about to build.”

Grandma nodded slowly, but her face was now full of disappointment as she looked at Grey.

“You come here,” she said sharply to him. “With lies and noise. You ruined our meeting, embarrassed our family, and almost destroyed an important business deal!”

“I was only telling the truth,” Grey said, his voice quiet but steady.

Grandma waved her hand. “Enough. Don’t say another word. You have shamed us for the last time.”

Sonia’s face glowed. Her cousins no longer had a reason to laugh at her.

Her uncle whispered something in Bobby’s ear and both of them laughed quietly.

Grey glanced at the uncle who had a proud, nasty grin on his face.

“Didn’t I tell you this one was a troublemaker?” the uncle said. “He’s not just disobedient, but look at him causing problems everywhere..”

Grey’s lips tightened.

He could feel the family turning against him and nobody believed him. The truth had been twisted and the evidence was dismissed as fake. And all of them… they were siding with the rich and powerful.

Bobby raised an eyebrow at him and gave him a cold smirk, the kind that said: “You’ve lost.”

Sonia smiled and leaned on Bobby’s shoulder like a helpless victim.

Grey stood in silence. All around him, people mocked him with their eyes, smirking and laughing among themselves.

Grey knew now that they had all turned against him. But he also knew something else: They were about to learn the hard way…

Just then, he received a message from one of his loyalists that read:

‘sir we just acquired the company you requested.’
