Ch 12: It was time

Ethons was curious about the skeletons they had just battled against.

"The answer to that question is pretty simple to how they came back on their own. They are restless and haven't not the prepared place to be buried and so rise like that of a vengeful spirit coming back to wreak havoc on the living."

"Could this happen often, Collin?"

"Sometimes here and there at certain places in this world. Yet problems like this are always taken care of."

"By who." Ethons and Collin walk with each forward since there wasn't a point to hang around broken and beaten undead skeletons.

"Well, adventures of course they take on simple quests like this for money."

"Adventures huh Collin why didn't you become one. I bet you would have made quite the money with your skills."

"It's not a thing for me. I am someone who likes to just travel around the world Ethons."

Ethons does wonder about the adventurer job should it be something he could take up.

There is the problem of him being a cursed Dragonborn which makes this life difficult to live.

If anyone were to discover this secret of his, well everything will become a problematic situation to have to deal with.

"Anyway best to seek a place to stop at and take the time to rest. I had my intentions that a town shall be not far from us."

"Great could do with a rest after traveling for a while."

"I know, but remember be careful not to give away what you are when in the town."

"Hey, haven't I always been good at doing that these past years?"

Collin believes that, but it is the future that worries the man because the time they have with each other is drawing close to an end.

When that has come to happen Ethons will be on his own for then on to make whatever choice on whatever path he takes.

"Ethons when we reach a town there is a matter of an important discussion that needs to be had."

《Random town Moring time》

Night time has changed to the daytime morning where Collin and Ethons arrive at a town they have come across in finding.

This town's name is Caister, an average-sized place.

As Collin handles the guards soon both if they were let inside.

The first thing they did was seek out an inn right away to rest their body and get some sleep.

It took about a few hours and the morning went into the evening close to being Nighttime.

As Collin and Ethons had their nice sleep they left the inn to go hang out at a tavern to drink and eat.

"So what exactly is it that you want to talk about Collin."

Ethons bring that up as the two of them sit down and order their drinks and food.

"Yes, the discussion is going to involve you, my friend."

"What do you mean have I done something wrong?"

"Nothing like that, it's just our time together. Time has come for that to come to an end."

"What!? Why."

Collin foresaw this reaction and was ready with words to say to Ethons.

"The 10 years traveling with you since that day is always going to be memories I will hold dear. Yet there is nothing more for me to teach you and I think it is time for yourself to be going alone."

"I didn't think this was going to happen though we were traveling together like this forever, I guess."

"Sorry, but that won't be happening anymore, I have matters that will take me elsewhere, and besides you are ready Anyway."

Ethons doesn't know what to think, he never saw this come to an end.

"What do you think I should do once on my own?"

"That is not for me to make for you, it is a matter that you must decide on your own."

"Well that is not going to be easy, I don't know what I want to do with this life of mine."

"Here you two go, your drinks are ready, but your food will take a little longer."

The tavern maid placed both cups of their drinks on the table.

"That's fine with us thank you."

"Yeah, thank you."

"Oh, no problem at all if you need anything else don't hesitate to ask me personally."

The tavern maid places a hand on Ethon's arm drawing it slowly across while winking at him as she soon leaves.

"You are quite the lady-man Ethons wherever we go they always throw themselves at you."

"I am cursed with the looks of beauty."

"Ha, I am not half bad myself on looks yet I always envy you elves blessed with beauty along with living a long time."

Collin laughs and Ethons just chuckle where Truthfully at this moment he had yet to experience that of the opposite flesh.

"Do you think I can do well alone as I am?"

"I think so, but you must keep what you are completely

"Yeah, I will definitely…."

The sound of the tavern door burst wide open as two fingers covered in armor walked inside cutting Ethons as he was speaking.

They were not the guards or adventures given to what these two were wearing to show the strangers belong to some order.

"Greetings ladies, gentlemen, and any other races hanging at this tavern. My partner and I have come to refresh ourselves after battling and killing an earth wyvern. So I say this to you: all drinks are on us dragon hunters."

The crowd inside cheers highly by the free drinks they will be getting from the newcomers and their news of killing an earth wyvern.

It didn't take long for them to be certain of attention by everyone inside coming to speak with them.

"Dragon hunters, I can smell the blood……"

"Of that wyvern, they have just announced killing."

"You don't sound angry by it, given what the other half of you is."

"Just because I am half dragon doesn't mean I have to show emotion every time one of them gets killed."

Collin says that about himself yet at the same time Ethons was feeling anger and hate toward the Dragon hunters.

Such feelings do not belong to him much, but that of the soul inside of them.

"Calm yourself Ethons allow not the emotions of the dragon soul to control you."

"I am doing my best here Collin, it's just hard to control it."

"Come now we have been training on this, I know you can keep the soul at peace just remember what you have to do."

Ethons pay attention to bringing the dragon's soul down instead of getting out of control to where they are.

Soon it worked. He was doing well and the man was impressed at how fast it was happening.

"Good now keep it that way going to have to since we can not leave just yet."
