Unbeatable Chef Xenon

Chapter one.

It was another day in the famous large kitchen, different aromas circulated the air both the sweet and sour ones so long it's been heated on fire. Everyone were energetic as activities bustled around except for Xenon who was waiting for the next night nightmare to befall him.

"What the hell are you doing with the Chicken breasts Xenon!!" Madame Rossetti fired at him, making him flinch from her loud voice that the spoon held almost fell off.

"I'm t.. trying to add the flour and mash potatoes to it." Xenon stuttered, feeling his heartbeat increased his tempo. It was dangerous to annoy Madame Rossetti, the head Chef of the Royal Volt Cuisine in Venice. Her big eyeball was fire, her breathing could send cold chills, her heavy fat hands could cause an earthquake and there was he, a stuttering shaking chicken apprentice who is under her mentorship to sharpen his skills.

"Trying to add what? Are you crazy huh? Come here with that pan!" She screamed and shrieked in disgust. "....yes, Idiot! That's pan." 

She pointed at it and Xenon swallowed, knowing what would befall him next.

Whamm!!!

A loud smack landed on his head and his co apprentice and workers bursted out in laughter while he saw stars circulating his head and the pains that spread his entire body.

"This is going to be a Chicken Parmesan and not a crispy crunchy chicken idiot!! Today is a very important day and you won't spoil it for me. Get the tomato sauce for me immediately!" She ordered and he nodded, going to the store to get it but was pushed harshly by Lucas, the second head chef from another department.

"I'm sorry.."Xenon muttered, maybe he might have stepped on him or something.

"Learn to use your eyes and drop the stupid act of innocence!" He spat out in disgust and he swallowed, walking past him to the terrace of where the store is located to get the tomato sauce. It's normal for every ingredient to be in place while cooking, but it was a different case with Madame Rossett.

She loved seeing him rally around endlessly while she cooks so she could use curse words and have a reason to smack him.

Xenon successfully carried the sauce and walked carefully, he didn't want to spill the sauce lest his life would be doomed.

Today was his boss Wedding, the Ceo of Royal Volt Cuisine and everywhere was as busy as a market planet, aroma of different type of food being prepared to be served at the venue and everything had to look perfect.

"Yo Xenon, get me a pack of seasoning from the store!" His fellow apprentice yelled at him but he huffed.

"I'll get it later Rican, I need to pass this immediately to Ma'am Rosetti." He said as calmly as possible, passing him but he was dragged backwards so harshly that he almost fell.

"Did you just refuse my errands?" Rican yelled, his huge feature towering above him and Xenon gulped.

"I didn't say that, I only need to pass this!" He said again, trying to maintain his voice.

"You stupid thing, do you realize he's the senior apprentice, I bet he even knows what a seasoning pack looks like!" One of the guys yelled and mocked him..

"Hey watch out he's going to spill that sauce, his hands looks so tiny and I wonder how he ended up here as an apprentice!"

"More like the hands of a cockroach!" Another yelled and they all laughed at Xenon who ignored them and took his steps to meet Rossetti who was waiting patiently for him.

"Don't you dare walk out on him!" Rican pushed Xenon harshly and he fell really hard, splashing the bowl of sauce everywhere but with most of it covered on his face making him look like a Red stained devil.

They laughed their hearts out and held their stomach at his reaction when he frowned as if he wanted to cry from the assaults done to him. His eyes were shut and on fire, he didn't know that he took the peppered sauce instead of the tomato sauce.

"Jesus!! My eyes!" Xenon screamed.

"Please, water! Anybody help!" He cried out and wandered blindly on the floor and Rossetti's heavy footsteps could be heard and everyone scurried and returned to their cooking, acting as if Xenon never existed.

"What is the meaning of this Xenon? Do I have to wait till forever before you bring what I sent you?"

She yelled at him, feeling irritated at the sight she saw and all he did was rubbed his pepperish eyes in pain.

"What happened here?" She directed the question at the men who looked so innocent about everything.

"Nothing much, Mrs Rossetti! Chris tried to get into a fight with Andrew, and came for me but he slipped and fell!" Rican lied and she shrieked in anger, dragging Xenon's ears to stand up as she took him, soiling her legs with the pepper sauce on the floor.

"Please ma, water! My eye is.."

A slap resounded in his ears and a full bucket of water was splashed on his body from head to toe.

"Why do you want to mess up today for me Xenon? After all this month of teaching you things, you still can't differentiate between a pepper sauce and a tomato sauce huh?" Why today of all days?!" She cried and carried the post and hit him on the head when the event Informer came over to make a general announcement.

"Please make sure the dishes are ready , we're leaving in thirty minutes. The guest are waiting and make sure you have a single server!"

She said and walked out and Madame Rossetti, paced around Like a mad person, pushing Xenon with so much force as she rushed and finished her cooking. She makes the best chicken in the Cuisine so taking the dish without chicken was going to be a slap to her boss and everyone who knew a lot about Royal Volt.

She was so fast in frying, adding spaghetti with roasted peppers and chicken, chicken parmesan, chicken Sorrento and chicken piccata pasta. Each of these are considered traditional Ingredients to bring out the best taste and flavour.

She was done in no time and Xenon helped her in packaging it on the most expensive disposable plastics.

"You've failed me today and will face your punishment." Xenon gasped and felt tears burning the back of his eyes

 Her punishment were fire!!

"But you can revert it by serving at the wedding event, just serve the guest and we'll be good!" She said and walked out on Xenon who was so flabbergasted.

"How will I face those powerful people such messy clothes? Why is my life getting worse with this woman?" He thought Inwardly and bit his lips as he stared at his clothes that was stained with pepper and oil and joined the others in the car to the Venue.

"Rican, make sure to serve the guest okay?" Lucas told Rican who frowned so deeply, no one in his right senses would want to appear so inferior in such a place.

 Rican hated it so much and Xenon saw this as an opportunity.

"I'll serve them Lucas!" He said and they all murmured and giggled at him.

"Really, have you taken a look at the mirror? You look like discarded trash soaked in red oil!"

"I'll do it " He said, ignoring the pangs of laughter that erupted from his fellow colleagues and apprentice.

"Fine, take this to the reception ground. The wedding is just about to get started so be smart."

Lucas said and Xenon nodded, while Rossetti grinned, knowing that she was going to mess up.

However, Xenon froze at the sight of the bride dancing happily and sweetly with her arms wrapped around his boss, the moment he walked in .

That girl was no other person than his Fiancée.
