Chapter 1

South Hill Real Estate is under construction. Many workers are passing by the place. At one place in South Hill real estate, a young man was pushing a wheelbarrow filled with cement mix.

He has not stopped smiling since morning. Happiness was filling his heart.

One man came by with a wheelbarrow and reprimanded him. "Damian, can you get rid of that ugly smile?"

Damian turned his head and chuckled. They both looked familiar. "Alex, are you bothered by my smile? Come on, man. You have to smile occasionally, too."

"I do smile occasionally. But you've been smiling since you arrived. Don't you think your mouth will get dry?" Alex pouted. "Do you realize your actions could endanger you and others?"

Damian shook his head. His smile was still as wide as before. "Of course not! I won't create a work accident with just this smile."

Seeing that Alex was still pouting, Damian spoke again. "Come on, Alex. I'm just smiling. I don't work drunk."

Alex snorted softly. "Suit yourself. If the project head reprimands you, I don't interfere."

The two of them walked hand in hand and soon sent the cement mixture to several places. They worked quickly. Even so, the two still had plenty of time to chat.

Damian was a young man with a height of 180 Cm, which was quite tall. Due to his years as a construction worker, Damian had a muscular body like people who regularly worked out at the gym.

Damian, still smiling, explained to Alex that his wife had just gotten a promotion. "Serra got a promotion yesterday."

Alex was surprised but also happy. He stopped walking and looked at Damian. "Really? I'm happy to hear that. By the way, what did your wife get promoted to?"

Damian hesitated a bit as he was about to answer. However, after thinking for a while, Damian finally chose to answer. "Sekara Serra became the CEO of Allure Company after being the marketing manager yesterday."

Since he was young, Alex had never worked in a company. He did not know what a marketing manager was like, but he knew very well that the position of CEO was a very good position. He laughed and shook Damian's hand in congratulations.

"I'm very happy to have such a great wife like Serra. Her spirit makes me want to work hard and become something more than I am now."

Alex nodded in agreement. He was the one who knew best how deeply Damian liked his wife. And he hoped Damian would be happy with his wife. "I think you should work hard. If he is the CEO of a big company, then you should at least try to be the head of the project."

"I will try."

One of the construction workers who heard them chatting laughed mockingly. "Look at those two pathetic people. It's already noon, but they're still busy being delusional."

The one beside him nodded and laughed mockingly. "Lowly workers like us, let alone a CEO, even the office girl at Allure company, might not want to be our wife. You'd better wake up from your delusions."

Alex, who heard this was not happy. "What does it matter if Damian has a CEO's wife? Will it bring trouble to you guys?"

"Alex, never mind. Whether they believe us or not is none of our business. After all, in this world, the only CEO who would marry a manual laborer like us is probably Serra." Damian smiled smugly. "I should get to work. How can you be the head of a project if you're slacking off?"

Alex and Damian returned to work, leaving the other two with ugly expressions.

At five in the afternoon, Damian came out of the construction area. Today was a big day for his wife, so he wanted to buy something Serra would like.

When he saw Chovers Cakery, Damian remembered that Serra liked one of the cakes from the shop. With his clothes covered in dust, Damian entered the shop. Some customers looked at him with disgusted looks.

Damian figured out which kind of cake Serra liked, then pointed at it, choosing. "I want this cake."

The waitress still nodded despite her slightly condescending look when she saw Damian's clothes.

"The total is 120 dollars, sir."

Damian nodded and took out three bills. The price of the cake was equivalent to several days' wages as a construction worker. However, for Serra's sake, Damian would do anything.

Damian's face was happy as he carried the opera cake bag. "Although it's quite expensive, I don't think it's big enough to make her happy."

In his heart, Damian promised to buy a dress when he got his monthly salary.

The distance between South Hill real estate and her house was quite far. It would take up to an hour on foot. Having spent all his money on a cake, Damian was forced to walk.

Along the way, Damian had imagined many things. Imagining Serra's sweet smile when she saw the cake, her favorite cake.

They had been married for a year, so they understood each other quite well. Although this marriage was based on an arranged marriage, the two could live with it quite well.

Half a year ago, Serra's father set Damian up with his daughter. Despite not knowing much about each other, Serra obediently complied with her father's wishes. Eight months after they got married, Serra's father passed away.

Before she knew it, Damian had arrived at her home—a large house in the city center area. The house was still quiet. Damian guessed that Serra had not returned from her office.

Damian placed the cake on the dining table and intended to clean it up first. He went up to the second floor, where his room was. Damian vaguely heard a sighing sound from the second floor but could not be sure where the sound was coming from.

Out of curiosity, Damian called out his wife's name. "Serra!"

There was no answer. Damian was getting more and more confused. He called her name a few more times, but there was no answer.

He walked closer to her room. His mind thought of many negative things, especially since the sighing sound was getting louder as Damian stood before the door.

With a pounding heart and a heart filled with fear, he feared that what was happening was not what he thought.

Damian took a deep breath. He then said, "Sera, are you inside?"

There was no answer.

Carefully, Damian opened the door to her room. His mouth went dry instantly. Even he had trouble swallowing saliva when he saw the hot scene before him.

Damian felt his blood boil at the sight of Serra not wearing a single piece of clothing, showing her jade-white skin with many traces of red on her chest and neck, and having a hot kiss with a man who was not her!

With his voice filled with waves of anger, Damian shouted so loudly. "Sera!"
