Suitable Mistake

"What did you just say?" The man asked him, giving him a dirty look.

Cole looked at him in the eye, trying to suppress the alcohol effect. "You are trying to touch her against her will." He replied.

Before the man could say anything, Cole opened the door and reached for the man. He instantly slammed a punch on his face. The man also lunged at him.

The lady that was in the car slowly lose consciousness while Cole and the man fought.

The man soon got tired and after a rough push by Cole, the man fell and hit his head against a stone which caused him to lose consciousness.

Cole's vision turned blurry and he staggered forward to help the lady but he too also fell flat and he passed out.

Down the dark street, a man dressed in an expensive suit sat down in the black limousine with the window wined down. The driver that had left the car earlier stood beside the window and made a bow.

"Has he succeeded?" He asked him, dropping the cigarette in his hands.

The man gave him a curt nod. "Yes sir."

The man smirked and said. "Good. It is time for a new show. Tell him to get her into the place as soon as possible. I will pay him when everything gets done." He told him and the man nodded again.

The man in the car stared at his Rolex watch. "I think he would have done that already. Driver, move." He ordered. The driver nodded and ignited the car's engine.

He smiled to himself, this was going to be interesting.

As soon as they reached there, they met the three of them unconscious.

"What the heck is this?" He hissed out as the driver who was also shocked. Martin moved forward and looked into the car.

Relief washed thorough him when he saw that Cecilia was still in there. He glanced between the two men and turned to his men.

"Take Stephen out of here. Keep that man." He said, pointing at Cole. The men gave him a curt nod and they carried Stephen, the man who tried to molest Cecilia.

The rest came forward. Martin turned to Cecilia with a smirk.

At least his plan was not going to flop this time.

"Get her and the dummy into the planned room." He ordered.

They carried them in the hotel and it was a total surprise that they did not wake while they laid them down on the bed.

Martin smirked at the image before him.

"Sleep tight. For now." He thought.

Squinting his eyes open, Cole came in contact with the dim light of the room and a ceiling with a rolling fan.

He did not have a rolling fan in his room. He could not afford it.

So where was he?

He moved his head to the other side of the bed which he noticed was quite comfortable and a female snoring softly laid beside him.

Instantly, he jerked up with speed which propelled the female to wake up too. Her eyes went wide as a scream broke out of her. Within the twinkling of an eye, her hand hit straight at his cheek.

"What the hell are you doing here?! Who are you?! And what have you done to me?!" She yelled at him, rushing the question at the oblivious Cole whose head was pounding so hard that he could not decide the place to hold, his head or his blazing cheek.

"I... I should be asking you the same thing." He groaned out, trying to remember what happened and how he got there. But all he could remember was drinking and nothing else.

A knock rapped on the door and Cecilia was quick to pick up the bed sheet to cover herself. The door was soon pushed open and Martins stepped in with a dirty smirk playing on his lips.

"Really? Is this what you are always doing? You know I once told Father about it but he never believed me. He thought I was the pervert in the house, not knowing his daughter was the whore." He said and Cecilia began to shake her head.

Martins Downs was an uncle to Cecilia. He coveted his father's fortune and will stop at nothing to make it his but the only block he has on his way was Cecilia who was the heir to the entire fortune.

"That is not true. I have never been with a man. And you know it ... This man .... I don't know him." She stuttered out, climbing down the bed and pacing around with the sheet wrapped around her.

"I don't know this idiot at all." She argued more but Martins was not listening to her. He brought out his phone and quickly caught a picture of her and Cole.

She rushed to him. "Please don't do this. I really don't know this moron." She begged him.

Martin raised his brow and showed her the phone as he clicked the send button."Oopsy sent it already to him."

"Damn you!" Cecilia jeered back as she gripped her hair tight in anger. She did not know what to do. Her grandfather will be really mad at her and disappointed when he sees her like this.

As if on cue, men rushed into the scene and a look of surprise was on her face. Martin seemed to notice this and he said, "You did not know but father was attending to some clients in this place too and when I saw you enter the place, I alerted him."

"What the hell is happening?" Cole spoke up for the first time since Martin got there. He stood up and began to search for his clothes but he did not find them. Except for the boxers on him, nothing else was with him.

He looked straight at Martins but he did not know why his face felt familiar yet wrong.

"How am I to answer that for you? Huh? After spending a great night with my sister here, you don't remember anything, the pleasure must have gotten to your head and wiped off everything." He mocked them and her grandfather stepped in, his presence alone oozed the powerful aura that is enough for someone strong to go down on his knees.

"What is happening here?" The deep baritone voice asked as he stepped forward. The lights shadowed his stature and Cole gulped hard.

Gosh, could this day get any better?

"Grandfather, it is not what you think it is. ... This is a misunderstanding, Grandfather." Cecilia stuttered helplessly, her eyes pleading with his.

Mr. Downs's eyes were hard on her as he took note of Cole's body too. "Really? Is it not obvious enough. You know the rule and you broke it, Lia. How could you have made such a big mistake?" He asked, his expression pained. Tears began to glisten to her eyes as she could not stand her grandfather's hurt.

She had broken the rule. The rule was that she was not meant to be with any man before she married but now… Her grandfather thinks that she had defiled herself.

He faced Cole. "And you, you have no way out of this. You are my son in law now and there is nothing you can do to be free from me. You shamed my daughter like this!" He said, pointing at Cole who could not ascertain what exactly was happening.

That was the only way out of it for her. He must marry her!

How did he go from someone whose girlfriend dumped him for some rich dude to someone who now has a wife he does not love? Life must be joking with him.

"What?! Sir, I don't know what is happening here but I swear, I did not touch your daughter and..."

"Any word from you can make you spend your night in the prison, brother in law." Martin cut him with a tone of mockery hinted at Cecilia who could not stop crying.

Cole did not stop, instead he said, "Sir, I am telling you. I did not touch your granddaughter. I was drunk..."

"And you raped her!" Martin interrupted him and Mr. Downs got angry and turned to Cole.

"You were drunk and you raped my daughter! How dare you? You are even refusing the charge, you know what? Beat him up!" He ordered and Mr. Downs stepped out of the place angrily. Cecilia watched how her grandfather's men began to hit Cole.

Martin turned to Cecilia with a smile of satisfaction. "Make sure your husband comes back home healthy and if I were you, I will hand him some cash and send him to the hospital. You know grandfather won't want his dear daughter to stay outside his house." He said and whirled to leave but he stopped.

"Oh, and also put some nice clothes on him. He does not look appealing to eyes like that." He added and left Cecilia. The men soon stopped and Cecilia turned to Cole who was holding his busted lips.

So much beating for a day.

"Leave your address with the driver and my grandfather will send someone to pick you. Don't think of running away, we will find you. And the ending won't be good at all." She said and exited the room.

Cole sat there, all his body was aching and pain pounded all over him. The driver was waiting patiently by the time he could get himself up to leave the room.

Luckily, someone had made arrangements for some oversized clothes for him.

While he wore them and entered the car, he began to notice a slow, tremendous change in his system. One he always felt but always ignored because it felt strange.

The pain he was feeling was suddenly gone and he felt new like someone else again.

What was this?
