1. Ling chen

Outskirts of Cloud View town, Cloud view Mountain...

A boy, around 13 years old, with handsome features, in ragged clothes was fighting with a tigertoothed boar barehanded. Boy was injured and panting heavily but a determined and excited glint was flashing in his eyes. He was here to get the rare herb it was guarding, a stalk of vitality grass. he needed this grass for his ill grandfather who has lost almost all his vitality and was on the verge of dying.

This boy's name is Ling Chen. In the cloud view town he is the weakest in his age group, and always gets bullied because of it. but he doesn't fear anything when it comes to his grandfather, Ling xiao. Ling Xiao is his only family member alive and Ling Chen loves him very much because Ling xiao is the one who brought him up since he was just an infant.

 His parents died in a beast tide and Ling xiao got seriously injured but despite that, he took care of Ling Chen. Now Ling xiao is almost on his last breath for the past month Ling xiao was unable to do anything, he could barely walk now. Ling Chen couldn't sit still and came to cloud view mountain to find a rare herb, vitality grass which can help restore some of Ling xiao's vitality and help him recover.

Since young Ling Chen wanted to learn martial arts but couldn't because of lack of money. he grew up weak because they couldn't eat healthy food. they were living on Ling xiao's savings after he got injured and couldn't do anything except take care of Ling Chen.

In a world where the strong prey on the weak. where only the Law of jungle ruled if you are weak you can't hope for anything. Ling Chen learned basic martial arts and breathing arts from Ling xiao and now could barely fight a wild beast. one can see despite not having any cultivation arts he reached the 2nd layer of the Body tempering realm. It is not that he is not talented enough but he doesn't have any cultivation arts. He thought of learning his grandfather's cultivation arts but it didn't suit him. as for other cultivation arts from his parents they were destroyed or stolen during the beast tide.

"I can't survive long enough, if I want to kill it despite knowing I can't, that would be utterly foolish. I have to think of some way to steal the grass and get out of here." 

"I have to lure it away and then steal the grass". After thinking about the plan Ling Chen picked up a handful of dirt threw it into the boar's eyes and fled in opposite direction.

" Roar!! "

Boar roared angrily. a weak little human dare tries little tricks in front of it. Boar charged at Ling Chen but Ling Chen was already 10 meters away. Ling Chen was weak but he was fast that's why he survived till now in cloud view mountain when he came to search for vitality grass. he came across many wild beasts, so when he saw one ran.

When Ling Chen saw the boar coming after him he smirked. " Little boar you can't catch me hahaha" 

Just when he was 1000 meters away from vitality grass he saw another wild beast, it was a fire Fox, with it were its 4 little cubs. when it saw Ling Chen running towards it, it growled.

"Don't worry foxy I won't harm you" Ling Chen laughed. He knew if he went 50 meters of its range it will attack him because it would think he is trying to harm its cubs. Fire fox is famous for its meat that's why it is hunted but it's very sensitive to another type of species. just when Ling Chen was about to reach 50 meters from it, boar caught up to him and swiped its claw at him. 

"Fuck"

Ling Chen cursed and dodge to the side but he was a bit late and its claw scratched his back he stumbled to the side, but he quickly adjusted himself and ran behind a tree. As for the boar, it couldn't change his running trajectory went in fire fox's range. firefox didn't wait and directly lunged at the boar.

"Hehe..."

"You two fight, I'm going to take vitality grass for myself" He quickly ran towards vitality grass.
