On his way to the restaurant, Jack's attention was caught by a sight when his scooter stopped at a red light. Under the shade of a large, leafy tree, a group of street children sat in a circle, huddled around food brought by a young woman. They looked happy, munching on pieces of bread wrapped in white paper.

Jack's neatly aligned teeth were visible as he watched the young woman ruffle the hair of one of the children. "She’s a kind woman," he commented.

[Her name is Emma Wexler, 24 years old, and she works as a waitress at a bakery. She often brings leftover food from her workplace for the street children. She rents a place in a densely populated area with her grandmother, which is about 500 meters from here.]

Jack was stunned by the sophistication of the System, which could describe someone’s background in such detail. However, before he could respond, the honk of a car behind him pierced the air, signaling that the traffic light had turned green. Jack revved up his scooter again.

"System, is that information valid?" Jack asked, uncertain because this was the first time he had seen the young woman.

[Don’t worry, sir. You can trust me. Would you like to hear more information about Emma? I think she’s an interesting woman. You could consider dating her.]

Jack chuckled, realizing that the System was trying to cheer him up after his divorce. Though hesitant, Jack agreed to the System’s suggestion. He listened to the System’s explanation about Emma, and before he knew it, he had arrived at his destination.

Jack looked at SweetSky Restaurant in front of him. In fact, he often passed by the restaurant on his way to or from the office. He had always planned to take Elena there for a romantic dinner one day. Jack was sure Elena would love it.

Now, Jack smiled. "I think I’ll take someone else to celebrate my freedom."

A white car pulled into the SweetSky Restaurant's parking lot. A handsome man got out of the car and opened another door.

The man extended his hand, which was met with a smooth, white hand. A diamond ring was circling one of her fingers.

"You’re more beautiful than an angel." The compliment was followed by a small laugh from the woman before they walked hand in hand.

This was the first time the woman had entered a five-star restaurant that was very popular in the city. She couldn’t stop smiling, knowing her life was about to change.

"Elena, from now on, your reputation will rise. You’ll become a high-class woman."

‘I’m smart. Many women will envy me for becoming Victor's fiancée— a young, talented manager from a distinguished family background. Yes, even if it means I had to ditch Jack. Who cares? Jack is useless now. It’s only right to throw him away like trash!’ Elena thought, satisfied.

She tightened her grip on Victor’s arm. "You’re the best, Honey."

Elena’s smile and Victor’s pride vanished when two guards standing at the front door of the restaurant stopped them.

"Sorry, sir, but the restaurant is not accepting visitors tonight because someone has reserved all the seats."

"What?!" Victor snapped.

"We mean, the entire restaurant has been rented for tonight. So, you can come back tomorrow. We apologize for the inconvenience," one of the guards explained politely.

Victor found the guard’s words ridiculous. The restaurant had three floors, each with many tables. It could accommodate hundreds of guests. What’s more, the prices for meals here were extremely expensive— even if someone bought dozens of dishes, they would have to spend millions of dollars, let alone renting the entire restaurant.

Who could be the conglomerate spending hundreds of millions of dollars in one night to rent SweetSky?

If the restaurant was rented for a wedding reception or a special government event, Victor could believe it.

‘But if that’s the case, I would definitely know about it. News like this wouldn’t slip past me,’ Victor thought.

For Victor and other high-class people, networking with other elite individuals was crucial. They regularly held meetings to build businesses together or simply to deepen relationships. There was even a special group chat for families from the upper class, where members often shared information.

"I’m actually a humorous person, but your jokes aren’t funny at all. Step aside and let us in, or you’ll regret it," Victor threatened.

The guards bowed, apologizing, but not because they were afraid of Victor’s threats, but because they really couldn’t let Victor and Elena in.

"Honey, are you sure we’re special enough for this restaurant? Look, they’re treating us like we don’t belong in SweetSky," Elena whined. This was supposed to be the most wonderful night for her, having dinner at a five-star restaurant.

Elena had already imagined taking selfies and videos during dinner. She wanted everyone to know that she was no longer the old Elena. She wanted to be welcomed as a member of the elite, and after this, luxury would become a permanent part of her life.

But now, everything was in jeopardy!

Victor, not wanting to lose face in front of Elena, quickly replied, "Of course, darling, don’t worry. I even have a special membership card. While regular guests need to make a reservation, I can go straight in and get a table here."

After calming Elena, Victor gave the guards a sharp look. "You’ll be in trouble for being rude to a VIP guest. Now, call Mrs. Sisca Baker. She’s the manager of SweetSky, right? Just so you know, we’re good friends."

The two guards exchanged looks. Confusion was evident on their faces. Not wanting to take any risks, they both nodded. One of the guards said, "Alright, sir. Please wait here while we call her."

Elena waited, grumbling, while Victor looked inside the restaurant. The glass walls allowed him to see the busy staff preparing for something, as if a dinner event was indeed taking place.

‘What exactly is going on? Why haven’t I heard anything about this?’

While Elena was occupied with her frustration, and Victor was deep in thought, checking his phone in case he had missed an important message from a colleague, a surprising group arrived.

Elena and Victor stepped aside in disgust. The people were dressed in shabby clothes, smelled unpleasant, and appeared unkempt. Some of them weren’t even wearing shoes.

Elena covered her nose and whispered, "Victor, what are these homeless people doing here?"

"Someone gave me an invitation for a dinner event here. They asked me to bring as many friends as possible. Is that true?" An elderly man handed a torn piece of paper to the guard with shaking hands.

After checking the paper, the guard smiled politely. "It’s true, sir. Please go ahead."

In his heart, he was determined to make that hope come true.Emma smiled. “I’m optimistic everything will get better. Working at Redwave Group is the dream of so many people.”“That’s good.”“Do you know why I feel so confident?”“Tell me.”“Because of you. I don’t know why, but ever since I met you, I’ve felt much more… safe.”Jack chuckled softly. “Alright then, I guess I’m a security guard now.”Emma shook her head. “Not like that. You know, maybe you don’t realize it, but you always help me out of trouble.”“Oh, so now I’m a locksmith.”“Jack, you keep joking.”“Well… it seems I have talent as a comedian.”They laughed together. Emma excitedly shared the good news with her grandmother. She beamed as she showed off the paper bag she had received from Redwave Group.Jack watched Emma’s radiant face as she took the contents out of the bag.“Grandma, it still feels too hard to believe. I—I’ve never experienced an interview this easy and fast before. I was accepted right away! And look, they even gave me these clothes.”“Redwave Group is a giant corporation, after all. Before going to the interview, I searched for a lot of information about their recruitment process online.”“From the reviews and comments I read, ninety-five percent of people said how incredibly difficult it is to pass the employee selection at Redwave Group. Many of them had to try several times before getting in. And quite a few failed repeatedly and eventually looked for work elsewhere.”“Oh my God, this is amazing. Look! These uniforms are so nice and high-quality. I feel like jumping up and down because I’m so happy!” Emma exclaimed as she he

Emma’s jaw dropped before a wide smile spread across her face. She clapped her hands and even hopped in place, like a child who had just been allowed to play in the rain.It might sound improper, but she was genuinely happy to see Jack acting a little… 'evil'.“No! I won’t do it!” Elena shouted fiercely. She stood up on her own, ignoring Victor’s outstretched hand that was about to help her.“It’s fine,” Jack said indifferently. He took Emma’s hand. “Let’s go home. Grandma is already waiting for us.”“But—”Emma felt a bit disappointed that Jack didn’t force Victor and Elena to comply with his condition. Not because she wanted them to clean her shoes, but because she wanted to show the two of them that Jack now had 'authority' that they couldn’t act however they pleased anymore.“Our business here is done. Let’s just leave,” Jack said with a smile.Emma couldn’t refuse him. She nodded weakly and replied in a low, unenthusiastic voice, “Alright.”To be honest, the situation put Victor

Although she felt puzzled, remembering that earlier the receptionists had been wearing different outfits, Emma still invited Jack to head to the main lobby with her. When they arrived in front of one of the reception desks, Emma turned her head as a receptionist from another counter called out to her.“Miss Wexler!”The woman waved with a smile, carrying a floral-patterned paper bag.Emma smiled and tugged on Jack’s hand before approaching her.“Is that my uniform?”“Yes! This is all yours.”The senior receptionist glanced briefly at Jack before giving a small nod.Emma turned to Jack, then accepted the paper bag with a radiant smile.Just as she was in such a cheerful mood, Emma was shocked by

“Madam, I can’t do that,” Victor refused immediately.Elena followed at once. “Me neither. T-that doesn’t make any sense.”To both of them, kneeling before Jack was the lowest form of humiliation. In their eyes, Jack was nothing more than someone beneath them, someone not even worthy of sitting on equal ground with them. So why should they lower themselves before a man whose status was far below theirs? But Daisy didn’t bother arguing. She said firmly, “That’s up to you. What you need to understand is that this is not an offer, it’s an order. And you already know the consequences of defying the Director.”Victor and Elena swallowed hard.Daisy stood up.“You have fifteen minutes. Victor and Elena grew even more tense. Especially after seeing the cold expression on Daisy’s face once she ended the call with Mr. Philanthropy. They had no idea what kind of fate awaited them next. Their heads hung low; neither of them dared to lift their gaze.Daisy clenched her fists.“Just a moment ago, you were even threatening me. So tell me, what’s weighing so heavily on your heads now that you don’t even dare to look at me?”Still keeping his head lowered, Victor said, “I am truly sorry, Madam. Y-you may ask me to do anything, as long as I’m still allowed to come here again in the future to submit another proposal.”“I refuse,” Daisy replied coldly. If it weren’t for Jack’s instructions, she would have slapped and thrown them out long ago.
