"President Su, you are being deceived." Lin Ruoxue screamed across the ballroom.
Ruoxue rushed forward and stopped just a few feet away from the billionaire CEO.
Her beautiful face twisted into an ugly mask of jealousy. Seeing the man she considered garbage holding the most powerful woman in Jiangbei City broke her fragile vanity.
"Do not let him touch you." Ruoxue pointed a manicured finger at Ye Tian. "He is my husband. He is a useless penniless house servant who scrubs my floors and washes my laundry."
The elite crowd gasped. Whispers erupted among the platinum tables.
Su Qinghan did not pull her arm away. She did not even blink. She kept her posture tall and elegant.
Ye Tian did not look embarrassed. He did not bow his head like he used to do in the Lin family kitchen.
He looked at Ruoxue with the cold amusement of a king watching a struggling insect. He let the whispers fill the room for a few seconds before he spoke.
"Correction." Ye Tian projected his deep voice. "I was your husband."
Ruoxue scoffed and crossed her arms. "You are still legally bound to me. You are still the dog my grandfather forced me to adopt."
"Yesterday you stood in your grandmother's hall." Ye Tian continued smoothly. "You demanded an open marriage. You stated you wanted the freedom to sleep with Zhao Feng while keeping me tied to your house."
The whispers in the crowd turned into loud murmurs of scandalized amusement. Several wealthy patrons openly pointed at Ruoxue and laughed.
Ruoxue felt her face burn. She smirked to hide her rising panic. She thought he was throwing a public tantrum to win her back.
"So what?" Ruoxue raised her chin. "I deserve a man of status. You provide nothing."
"I was foolish to refuse your generous offer yesterday." Ye Tian smiled. "Today I see the profound wisdom in your arrangement."
Ruoxue frowned in confusion. "What are you talking about?"
"I formally accept your proposal for an open marriage." Ye Tian declared loudly. "You are free to entertain your billionaire. I am free to accompany President Su. We both get what we want."
Ruoxue's face drained of all color. Her mouth opened but no words came out.
The elite crowd erupted into outright laughter. The socialites mocked her foolishness. Her grand plan just backfired in front of the city.
She demanded an open marriage to humiliate him. Instead she handed her trash husband legal permission to upgrade to a billionaire queen.
A burning jealousy seized her chest. Her nails dug deep into her palms until they drew blood.
"Now step aside." Ye Tian dismissed her with a wave of his hand. "You are blocking President Su's path."
Ruoxue staggered backward. She bumped into a cocktail table and knocked over a silver tray of appetizers.
Zhao Feng watched the disaster unfold. He saw the lucrative harbor contract slipping through his fingers.
He needed to regain control of the room immediately. He needed to prove his superiority over this peasant.
"Enough of this nonsense." Zhao Feng stepped in front of Ruoxue. He ignored the marriage drama and focused his desperate eyes on Su Qinghan.
Zhao Feng snapped his fingers high in the air.
"Bring the treasure forward." Zhao Feng commanded.
His lead bodyguard A Hu rushed forward. The martial artist carried a heavy velvet box. A Hu placed it carefully on the nearest dining table.
"President Su please ignore this peasant and his vulgar drama." Zhao Feng placed his hand on the velvet box. "I came here tonight to offer you a genuine miracle."
Su Qinghan narrowed her eyes. "I do not need miracles from the Zhao family."
"You need this one." Zhao Feng smiled with renewed confidence. "I know your esteemed grandfather has been suffering from a mysterious chilling illness for the past year. The best doctors in the world cannot warm his blood."
Su Qinghan tensed. Her grandfather's illness was a closely guarded secret. The old man was freezing to death from the inside out.
"Speak carefully Zhao Feng." Su Qinghan warned.
"I spent one hundred million yuan to acquire this artifact from a wandering Tibetan Grandmaster." Zhao Feng unlatched the box. "It radiates pure Yang energy. It will purge the cold from his bones."
He flipped the lid open.
A dark red medicinal pill rested on a bed of white silk. It was the size of a marble.
The moment the box opened a heavy exotic fragrance swept through the ballroom.
The mortal guests breathed in the scent. The air of the crowded room suddenly smelled like rare spices and sweet nectar. Several elderly businessmen sighed in comfort.
"Incredible." Old Madam Lin hobbled forward on her cane. Her eyes locked onto the dark red pill. "Such a potent fragrance. Zhao Feng truly possesses limitless resources."
"This is the Thousand Year Blood Pill." Zhao Feng puffed his chest out. He shot a victorious sneer at Ye Tian. "This is real power beggar. This is what wealth buys."
Su Qinghan looked at the pill. A flicker of desperate hope crossed her stoic face. She would trade her entire fortune to save her grandfather.
Ye Tian channeled a fraction of his newly formed true Qi to his eyes.
He activated the Heavenly Emperor's Sight.
The mortal illusion vanished. Ye Tian saw a swirling vortex of pitch black rotting Yin energy.
Thick tendrils of ghostly black smoke slithered out of the red pill. The sweet fragrance was merely a chemical mask designed to hide the foul stench of death.
Ye Tian laughed.
"What is so funny?" Zhao Feng glared at him.
"A miracle cure?" Ye Tian shook his head slowly. "You ignorant fool. You brought a murder weapon to a banquet."
"Shut your mouth." Zhao Feng shouted. "You are a jealous vagrant. You know nothing about spiritual medicine."
"That is a Corpse Rot Pill." Ye Tian pointed at the dark red sphere. "It is not a Tibetan treasure. It was refined from the toxic blood of a thousand year old plague corpse."
The room grew very quiet.
"The sweet fragrance is an illusion." Ye Tian explained to the crowd. "It masks the rotting Yin energy trapped inside. It will freeze a man's organs and devour his soul within minutes."
Zhao Feng slammed his hand on the table. "Lies. You are making up ghost stories because you have nothing to offer."
"You think I am lying?" Ye Tian released Su Qinghan's arm.
He stepped forward. He looked directly into Zhao Feng's eyes.
"If it is a miracle cure, swallow it yourself." Ye Tian challenged him. "Prove me wrong. Eat the pill right now."
Zhao Feng broke out in a cold nervous sweat. He looked at the dark red pill. A deep primal instinct warned him not to touch it.
"This is too precious." Zhao Feng stammered. He took a step back from the table. "It is meant for the Su family. I cannot waste a hundred million yuan on myself."
"He is scared." A wealthy businessman whispered from the crowd.
"If he paid a hundred million he should know it is safe." Another socialite murmured. "Why is he sweating?"
The elite crowd started whispering louder. The pressure mounted on Zhao Feng to prove his grand claim.
Cornered and desperate, Zhao Feng grabbed his lead bodyguard. He shoved the martial artist toward the table.
"A Hu will test it." Zhao Feng declared. "He is my most loyal man. He will prove the pill is safe."
A Hu looked at his boss in confusion. He hesitated.
"Scrape a piece off and swallow it." Zhao Feng ordered through gritted teeth. "Do it now or you are fired."
A Hu nodded reluctantly. He reached into the box. He used his thick thumbnail to scrape a tiny fraction of the dark red pill.
He placed the red powder on his tongue and swallowed it.
The crowd watched in breathless silence.
At first A Hu felt a rush of heat. The raw energy flooded his meridians. His face turned bright red.
A Hu grinned. He flexed his arms. The muscles bulged under his tailored security suit.
"I feel incredible." A Hu shouted. "It is like a furnace inside my stomach."
Zhao Feng laughed triumphantly. He turned to Ye Tian with a vicious sneer.
"Do you see you, useless beggar?" Zhao Feng pointed at his bodyguard. "It works. It provides boundless Yang energy. You know nothing."
Ruoxue smirked and let out a long sigh of relief.
Ten seconds later the false energy vanished.
A Hu let out a sudden agonizing gasp. His eyes rolled back into his head exposing the whites.
He dropped to his knees. He grabbed his throat and vomited a puddle of foul black blood onto the marble floor.
A Hu collapsed onto his side. His skin turned an unnatural freezing shade of blue. He began to seize violently on the ground.
"Help him." A woman in the crowd screamed in terror.
The elite guests scrambled backward to get away from the dying man.
Zhao Feng backed away in shock. He stared at his loyal bodyguard thrashing on the floor. He abandoned the dying man to save himself.
Ye Tian stepped forward. He ignored Zhao Feng and knelt beside the man.
"Hold him still." Ye Tian ordered the other security guards.
Two guards rushed forward and pinned A Hu's thrashing shoulders to the floor.
Ye Tian used his returning spiritual Qi. His fingers moved with a blur of supernatural speed. He struck several vital pressure points on A Hu's chest and neck.
He hit the Renzhong point above the lip. He struck the Shenmen point on the wrist. He drove a surge of his immortal Qi directly into the man's frozen heart meridian.
The sheer force of Ye Tian's Qi pushed the Yin poison out of the mortal system.
A Hu let out a rattling cough. He leaned over and spat out a mouthful of dark toxic sludge.
The seizing stopped immediately.
A Hu gasped for sweet air. The terrifying blue tint faded from his skin. His normal healthy color returned to his face in seconds.
The crowd stared in silent awe. They just witnessed an ancient medical technique save a man from certain death.
A Hu pushed himself up onto his hands and knees. He breathed heavily. His mind was clear.
He realized his boss forced him to eat poison. He realized Zhao Feng abandoned him to die on the floor. He realized the trash son in law just saved his life.
"Get up A Hu." Zhao Feng ordered nervously. "Stop making a scene and get back in line."
A Hu ignored his boss. He turned to Ye Tian. The bodyguard remained on his knees. He bowed his head until his forehead touched the floor.
"You gave me a second life." A Hu projected his loud booming voice to the silent room. "My previous loyalty died when I swallowed that poison. From this day forward my life belongs to you sir."
Su Qinghan stepped around the puddle of black blood. Her beautiful face was a mask of murderous fury.
She turned her sharp eyes toward Zhao Feng.
"You brought a cursed poison into my presence." Su Qinghan's voice cracked like a whip. "You tried to assassinate the patriarch of the Su family with your blind ignorance."
"No." Zhao Feng pleaded. "I was tricked by the monk. I wanted to help."
"The Zhao Corporation is finished." Su Qinghan declared loudly. "I am canceling the harbor contract effective immediately. I will personally ensure your family faces total financial ruin by next month."
Zhao Feng let out a choked sob. He fell to his knees beside the velvet box.
Su Qinghan turned away from the sobbing billionaire. She deliberately ignored the Lin family standing nearby. She did not even glance at Old Madam Lin or Ruoxue.
Ruoxue stood frozen. She trembled in fear and realization. She tied herself to a sinking ship. The man she threw into a ditch now held the favor of the ruling queen.
"Let us leave this place." Su Qinghan said softly to Ye Tian.
"Come." Ye Tian commanded A Hu.
A Hu stood up quickly and took his place behind Ye Tian.

The unmarked medical van sped away from the swirling boundary of the red fog. Driver Chen gripped the steering wheel and kept his eyes fixed on the dark asphalt of Silver Avenue. Traitor's Decree
Elder Gu crushed the communication jade in his sweating palm. The magical stone crumbled into useless green dust.
