The cold metal handcuffed was used to bound his hands as he was being dragged to the Prison's Van. His uncle kept calling him but he refused to spare him a glance.
If he had a supernatural power, he wouldn't have ceased dealing with him at that moment.
All hope was lost as he entered the van and the door was closed.
"Am I really going to prison?" He asked himself, not wanting to believe the situation.
Two drops of tears dropped from his eyes as he tried to sniff in the tears that were threatening to fall.
The prison guards who were staying with him paid no attention to his emotional feelings.
Suddenly, he heard a loud sound outside, which made him jerk away from his thoughts.
The van started shaking rigorously, as if there was an external force fighting with it.
The two guards that sat beside him were surprised, likewise him.
They tried to reach out to the driver, to ask what was the problem was until they heard a very loud sound, when a truck when over the van from the overhead bridge,
Desmond screamed out loudly and everywhere became dark. His van just had an accident.
***
The beeping sound of the machine woke him up from sleep. He opened his eyes Weary and everywhere was dark.
"What's happening?" He thought, trying to stand up but his head was heavy and he couldn't raise his head.
A young lady, putting on a white coat, walked closer to approach him.
"Hi, are you awake?" She asked, checking the beeping monitor.
That was when the reality set in, that he was at the hospital.
He recalled the accident and let out a sigh of relief, thanking goodness that he was alive.
"How is my health? Hope there was no internal bleeding or whatsoever?" He asked the lady, but was shocked about what just happened.
The voice that was ringing in his head was not his, it sounds strange
"Wait, what happened to my voice?" He added, getting up from the bed.
"Hey! You need to be careful. You might collapse again if care isn't taken" the lady scolded him. She was an intern at the hospital.
"Did anything happen to me? What changed my voice? Oh my goodness!" He was still in shock and wanted to leave the bed but the intern immediately pressed the red button to call the attention of the senior doctors. It seemed that he was running mad.
Two doctors entered, rushing to meet him.
"Mr Ryan, how are you feeling? Is there anything wrong with your body? The scan results showed that everything is fine. Do let us know if there is any place that is making you feel uncomfortable" one of the doctors asked.
"My voice, it has changed. What happened to…" he was still asking when he noticed the change of his skin color.
With immediate effect, he removed the drip that was attached to his hand and ran to the corridor.
"Mr Ryan, where are you running to? You still need to undergo some checkup" the intern doctor also ran after him
He stopped at the corridor where he saw a glass door. He glance at his body and realizes that it wasn't him
Typically, his soul was inside another body. The Strange body felt different. The stature, body color, voice and others but his soul was inside the body
He had no idea of the person's name, talkless of his background or family status.
He was beyond shock and fell on his buttock.
"How did I get here?" He asked no one in particular.
"Don't you remember? You are coming from the club. According to your father, you left home in annoyance after a little misunderstanding" she answered.
"Oh my goodness! This can't be happening to me. I think I'm going crazy right now" he murmured, trying not to believe his current situation.
Ana, the lady was wondering if something happened during the surgery. Probably, something that has affected his health.
She rushed to call her senior doctors, and together, they bundled Liam back to his Hospital ward despite his wailing not to be returned there.
He was forcefully given some injections to calm down his nerves. That was when he noticed the beautiful room, despite being a hospital.
"Only VIP patients can afford this" he thought.
"I guess he is going through a Partial memory loss, which makes it difficult for him to recall the past incidents. When the chief director comes back, he will not know what to do about it" Ana was informed.
"I thought as much. It would have been a disaster if he was having mental issues. His father would not take it easy on the hospital at all. I could remember him discussing with the director about taking him out of the country if we cannot treat him'' Ana retorted.
"Taking me out of the country? This guy must have been lucky to have a rich father. Gosh! I envy him" he thought.
"Ehm, can I ask you a question?" He cleared his throat before asking.
"Sure, you can" Ana gave him the go ahead.
"You said I was involved in an accident, where are the other victims or am I the only person that got injured?" He questioned, hoping he would know where his body was kept.
"One of our doctors was involved and some prison officers. One of them died while the other two got a little injury but our doctor is in a coma right now" she humbly answered.
The place was silent that a drop of pin could be heard. It was not apparent that his body was in a coma while his soul got switched.
The new body was younger and handsome. The skin was also smooth and milky. He must have taken good care of his skin.
He was about to ask another question when he got interrupted by the sound of the door opening.
Ana and other doctors had heads bowed immediately.
"My son" the man, in his middle fifty called and rushed to check on his body. He was delighted to see his son.
The face seemed familiar to Desmond in Ryan's body. He was trying to recall his face when the television displayed a video of him at an event.
"The president?" He suddenly blunted out..

The Rules of the Shadow Healing
The morning after Selene's visit, Desmond arrived at the laboratory before sunrise.Researchers moved between workstations carrying trays of dried herbs. Extraction units hummed steadily in one section of the building. The sharp scent of crushed leaves and medicinal roots lingered in the air.For a few minutes, Desmond enjoyed the quiet, then his office door opened. Dr. Paige entered carrying a tablet. She looked too tired to greet him and that alone was enough warning."Morning, Dr. Paige"She placed the tablet on the table with a little more force than necessary.“ There is nothing good about the morning, Don”.“ Wow!, that's harsh”Paige ignored Desmond's dramatic expression, then she pulled out a chair and sat down."I spent half the night reviewing inventory reports. If anyone says good morning to me right now, I might become violent.""Is it that serious?", Desmond asked“ It's worse”, she answered as she slid the tablet across the table.Desmond picked it up, and the smile on h
The Midnight clinic 2
A nurse led Selene through the underground corridor. The deeper they went, the more questions formed in her mind. The facility was too organized to be temporary. It was too well staffed and too well supplied.People moved with the familiarity of those who had been working there for some time. Eventually, the nurse stopped outside an office."Mr. Liam is inside""Thank you", Selene said. She knocked once, "Come in"Desmond glanced at her with a straight face, "Dr. Selene""Mr. Liam"The door closed behind her. For a few seconds, neither spoke, then Selene took a seat."I just had a conversation with your friend outside"Desmond nodded, "I assumed you would""He told me this facility is connected to the cartel"There was no point dancing around it, so Desmond decided to come out clean."Yes"Selene watched him carefully, "What exactly does that mean?""It means the people funding this place aren't saints"The answer didn't satisfy her, "I don't think that's what it means""No, It doesn'
The Midnight clinic 1
The investigation continued even after the Ministry cleared the clinics. The public pressure had eased, but inside the operations room, nobody was celebrating.Analysts stayed at their desks through the day and often deep into the night. Every financial trail they followed opened into something larger than the last. Every company led to another intermediary, and then another, until the structure stopped looking like a chain and started looking like a web that had no clear edge.Three days after the clearance announcement, Scorpion didn’t show up for the strategy meeting.Ezra noticed first, but he didn’t say anything right away. When Scorpion missed the second meeting, Ezra finally spoke, “That’s twice now, he is acting suspicious” Desmond gave a quiet chuckle, “ Every one of his actions is always suspicious. Maybe it's related to his company anyways”Ezra shrugged, but the concern stayed with him. By the next day, he finally called him."Where are you?", Ezra asked."I'm busy", Scor
The Point of Corrections
Desmond finally understood the pattern. The headlines, the fake medication, the bribed media, and the pressure on the Ministry were all part of a coordinated effort, not aimed at Liam personally but at the system he represented. His humanitarian model was disrupting powerful interests, and what they were seeing wasn’t a personal conflict or political dispute, but a coordinated pushback from an industry threatened by its success."So what now?", Scorpion uttered.Ezra pushed off the desk and straightened, "We have enough to fight back”Desmond didn't agree, “Not yet”Scorpion was also impatient, “Why?”“ None of this reaches the people who made the decision”, Desmond explained.Ezra understood first, "They’re middle layers, so they're disposable.""Exactly. So, if we go public now, they will take the fall. Every one of them. And the system keeps moving""The companies will deny it. The contractors disappear into it", Scorpion mentioned "And nothing sticks," Ezra said.Desmond looked d
Beyond the Clinic
The next trigger came sooner than Desmond expected. It was barely seven in the morning when Ezra walked into the office carrying a stack of reports."We found it", he suddenly announced.Desmond tore his attention away from the clinic records spread across his desk"Found what?""The break in the pattern"Scorpion left the window and walked over. Ezra placed the reports on the desk and opened the first file."Every region that experienced panic received calls from media contacts within thirty minutes of the first reports appearing"Scorpion reached for the documents, “That’s not unusual in cases like this”"It is when the same communications agency is connected to all of them"That made Desmond go still for a moment. He pulled the file closer and started reading:The first few pages contained call records. Further in were internal communications gathered overnight. The names attached to the reports changed from page to page, but the language barely did. Journalists working in differen
The First Casualty
“Are you telling me a child is dead because of Liam Andrew's treatment system?”“I'm telling you that's what the reports currently say”“Reports from who?” one analyst asked immediately. “The hospital hasn't released a final statement”“A child is dead,” another replied. “Are we supposed to ignore that?”“Nobody is ignoring it”“Then stop acting like people don't have a right to be angry”“Being angry and assigning blame are two different things”The host tried to intervene, “Gentlemen….”“No, because this is exactly the problem.”“The problem is that everyone wants a verdict before an investigation.”The argument rolled on while the headline remained fixed at the bottom of the screen.HOLISTIC TREATMENT UNDER INVESTIGATION AFTER CHILD DEATHBy afternoon, the story had spread across the country. Reporters were already camped outside the regional clinic, pushing microphones toward anyone who looked like they might have answers. Inside, it was mostly movement without clarity; staff slip
