Power, authority, fame and prominence isn't measured by Decibel but then this—

The striking escorts, chrome accent cars that seem to be sculpted out of gold, each one gleaming under the streetlight, catching the attention of onlookers and stealing it.

The atmosphere seems to split. Literally.

The street was quiet with everyone watching the fascinating reality in shock.

The woman on the second floor almost collapsed as shock pulsed a tremor through her heart. Her knee buckled under the weight of disbelief that crushed on her. She held the railings for support.

The boy they called a beggar earlier. The same boy who they bathe with murky water. They're.. they're escorting him like a king. Like some kind of celebrity or a monumental Politician on decoy.

Ben himself opened the door of the Maybach gls 680 for Elijah. He bowed gently and stood behind the gilded door, waiting patiently for his master to enter.

Elijah paused. Reluctance flickered in his eyes but then..his emotions warred between hesitations and Curiosity..the smooth feminine voice he heard earlier, calling him son..Mum...His mind was burning with curiosity.

He gulped.

He glanced at Ben briefly to see him giving a gentle nod and an assuring smile.

Elijah swallowed hard again.

His eyes lurched to the interior of the car. It was... breathtaking and wondrous. It looks like an entire world carved out from the segment of paradise.

Elijah Blinked.

The bodyguards flanked behind him, waiting for him to enter before they move from their spot.

Elijah has never seen this kind of car before, thoughtless of entering one. Not even in his wildest dream. He never imagined he could smell the air of such a kind of luxury in three years time but here he is—it was waiting for him.

Gently.. rather, Cautiously. He stepped into the car. Immediately he settled in, the door closed behind him gently with a faint thud.

The conversations outside died in his ear instantly. It was replaced with a soft beat coming from a soothing hip-hop playing from the stereo of the car.

The cool air conditioner in the car brushed his skin. It didn't buzz, it whispered, threading with the soft melody from the stereo.

At first, Elijah didn't relax but the soft milky coloured sofa seems to be pulling him into its comfort.

The air was thick with the smell of rich Cologne and air freshener which tilted from the handle of the rearview mirror.

Elijah, half–settled scanned the interior.

Ambient lighting glowed in the interior, bouncing off the sleek dashboard, just faintly. Too faintly not to blind.

Soft milky coloured leather hugged the seats, their surface cool and tempting to touch. Elijah reached out slowly, his finger tracing on the leader, passing over the fine stitches— straight and precise...the feeling was inexplicable.

The dashboard itself glowed with sharp digital read–out, Alive with data, displaying the functions of the car. The gear sat like a dagger between the frontal seats and every surface screamed precision and eloquence.

It was less of a machine but more of a High–tech lounge.

Ben entered the front seat, beside the driver. He turned halfly immediately the door closed behind him.

“Should we get going now, young master?” He asked with a tone that carried much reverence.

It actually caught Elijah aback. Was all this all about him?

He nodded his head as an afterthought.

“Set the car in motion.” Ben told the driver immediately head– gestured by Elijah.

Three cars, Cadillac CT6 flanked behind, with the Maybach gls in between while the other two Cadillac CT6 were at the front.

It wasn't the regular convoy.

Streetlight moves in blur. Time seems to sprint rather than tick. Elijah was lost in thoughts.

Who could the Queen Emilia be? The way they carried her name. It wasn't just about respect. It was fear— Same demeanor the men were displaying before him. Like they're going to be doomed if they merely peck his cloth.

The cars pulled to a stop at the front of a towering black gate hinged to a Sky–high fence. From the car, Elijah could see CCTV cameras mounted on top of the fence.

A single horn from the first car, and the gate parted slowly, sliding to the side.

Elijah has never seen this kind of gate before. Not even in movies. It must be some high–end crazy tech Gate.

The car drove through the gate, the wheel crunching under the gravel then it pulled over in the space, some distance away from the main building.

Ben stepped down quickly and rushed to Elijah's side of the door. He opened the door slowly, waiting for Elijah to step out but what Elijah saw had completely stolen his attention.

The landscape is breathtaking. Elijah let out a soft gasp of shock.

A towering Mansion spread upward before him, cloaked in the darkness. Soft light glowed from every corner of the wall, CCTV cameras rooted on the walls like sentinels.

At the front, a fountain of water sprinkled down on petunias. At another corner, is a swimming pool, reflecting blue as it caught faint light from the wall.

Under a long shade in the compound were sleek of cars lining up as if displayed for sale.

Elijah jaw slacked. He was wrapped in shock.

It isn't just a Mansion. It is an empire. Elijah was beginning to believe there truly lived a queen inside of the mansion..Queen Emilia, as stated by Ben.

Elijah can't wait to know who she is.

“Young master, we're home.” Ben's voice came calmly with respect but it startled Elijah out of his awe.

He blinked, pulling his jaw together. Then he stepped down.

Ben was at the front, like a loyal servant lending his master into a fortress while the bodyguard walked behind them.

Each step they took Forward reveals the astonishing features of the place. It was magnificent, imposing and.. different— special.

Elijah was surprised to see more security guards taking stand at different spots, rifles hanging on their shoulders.

Elijah swallowed hard. The earlier fearful thought flooded his mind again. What if he was going to be killed.. He's not going to escape it. Everywhere is heavily secured— to the teeth. No breathing space. Not a chance.

Getting to the door of the threshold, Ben fished out a smart card from the pocket of his suit and placed it closer to the card scanner on the door.

With a soft ping, the door gave way and revealed..

Oh God!!

  • Sasha Li

The door of the hall gave way. The room shifted and even the air seemed to freeze. Two men, huge, tall and sharp looking in black suits that could cut a glass pushed the door open with effortless practice. Then— In walked her. Sasha Li. Charred ashes suit cut to her fitness, neatly pressed under the pressure of a hot metal. No rumples, not even specks. Her black velvet sling back heels seem to war with the marbled floor. It clicked sharply like a threat, echoing in the ear of everyone. And they didn't sit. They all rose to their feet. Even the air evaporated, hanging tension loosely over the room. Her hair wasn't weaved. She had a cut. Smart, sharp, curling over her face as though she doesn't have that time to waste sitting in a Hair studio. No jewelry except a pair of princess cut stud diamond earrings catching scattering faint light. As she walked further, the air parted in front, her expensive perfume choking out the air behind. “Miss. Li...” Clinton Kenneth hurriedly met

Now, both of you should get lost!” She spun. “Hey..bring me his paper.” A male student hurried to her with Dave's question paper and the answer script.
