Gideon returned home in a complete mess. Many of his dreams had been shattered. In fact, he had no one to complain to.

Gideon looked at the remaining money from his college savings. There was only $500 left, and he didn't know how much longer he could survive on that.

"Why is everything getting harder?" Gideon complained. His sighs were filled with frustration.

He had been so excited to finish college quickly, thinking that if he got top grades, he would easily land the job he wanted.

But everything felt strange when several companies rejected him for no apparent reason.

He stared at the window, which was still open. His gaze was fixed straight ahead. "Maybe I'll try again tomorrow."

Gideon quickly pulled the door shut, then lay down and closed his eyes.

He didn't know how long it took him to fall asleep, but he finally drifted off.

The next day, Gideon was neatly dressed. Wearing a shirt and holding a job application document in his hand, he walked down the street to apply for a job. Even though he was a top graduate from a top university, it was still difficult to find a job. He even heard that some of his colleagues had already worked at well-known companies. This was quite strange.

Could it just be bad luck?

This made Gideon even more frustrated with his situation. But he couldn't give up. Jolie's betrayal had truly broken his heart. At least he could prove himself to be a worthy man.

Now his gaze fell on a construction project. Suddenly, a glimmer of hope flashed.

"I'll ask about the job there," he said softly.

This wasn't what he had always dreamed of after graduating top of the class from a top university. He should have found a more decent job. But he couldn't hang on to hope with so many rejections from all the major companies.

Gideon sighed. He walked toward a building. The few people busy working barely noticed his arrival.

He stopped and looked around. Knowing everyone seemed busy, Gideon held back. "I'll ask when they're finished."

Gideon didn't see any leaders there. Everyone was just workers, so he didn't want to disturb them.

He saw a dirty bench. He walked over without hesitation and sat down. He sat and pondered his plight.

He wasn't just struggling to find work. It seemed as if there was nothing he could hope for in his miserable life. He realized he had no one left in this world.

Gideon sighed. He stared up at the ceiling of the unfinished building. "Maybe I'll work here."

This time, Gideon took the mineral water he had bought earlier. He took a small sip to quench his thirst. Meanwhile, he had to endure the hunger that was making his stomach growl. He just wanted to save money.

Suddenly, he heard the sound of objects scraping from above. The sound became clearer and more transparent.

Gideon frowned. He looked around to determine what was happening. But he only just realized how eerily quiet it was. He no longer saw the previously busy workers.

Gideon felt strange, "Where are they?"

The noise grew louder. He raised an eyebrow. Suddenly, he saw a block of concrete fall beneath his feet. With a swift movement, Gideon managed to dodge it.

Gideon looked up to see what had happened. However, he was immediately shocked when he saw a concrete block aimed at him.

The large piece of concrete shifted and fell on him.

He was just about to move to avoid it. But the force of the concrete was even faster than his movements. Before he could escape, in the blink of an eye, it was upon him.

He felt a hard impact on his body. Simultaneously, he could hear the sound of his bones shattering. A warm liquid pooled around him.

Slowly, he felt excruciating pain. He wanted to scream, but his plight robbed him of his strength.

"Am I going to die?"

Slowly, the pain was truly tormenting him. His chest tightened, making every breath excruciating.

Everything seemed dark. Until, slowly, he stopped opening his eyes. He thought he was going to die. But in this state, he wasn't actually dead or unconscious.

There was no movement or sign of help, and that made him resign himself to his situation.

But suddenly, while his body was still crushed by the large concrete slab, he felt someone's footsteps approaching. Calm footsteps, without panic.

Gideon slowly opened his eyes. But everything was dark. He could only make out the silhouettes of two people standing beside him.

They did nothing to help him. Instead, they simply stood there, staring at him strangely.

Until one of them spoke in a whisper, "He's a worthy man."

Although faint, the voice was very clear to his ears. Despite this, Gideon didn't understand anything. He simply waited for the two people to help him and take him to treatment.

But the increasing blood loss left him helpless. Before he could open his mouth to speak, Gideon felt his vision darken again. He was truly going to lose consciousness.

“I’m really going to die.”

A few moments later, Gideon began to regain consciousness. He didn’t know how long he had been unconscious. But the more he opened his eyes, the more the pain became more pronounced.

“Arrhhhhh!” His screams echoed loudly.

He felt excruciating pain in every inch of his body. It was truly excruciating.

He had to endure the agony for a while, until he felt his body drenched in sweat.

But after a few moments, he felt something strange about his body. Now he could even move his hands freely.

This left him speechless for a moment. Previously, he couldn’t even open his mouth to speak, but this time, he could move not only his hands, but his entire body.

Gideon tried to pay attention to his body. He opened his eyes wider, and realized that the block that had been pressing down on him had disappeared.

This was surprising.

Gideon raised his hand and rubbed his head. This time, he felt the previously excruciating pain disappear.

“What happened?” Gideon got up. He only realized that he was now in an empty room.

Gideon looked back at his body. His two arms were still intact and his legs were completely unharmed. Even the warm blood that had pooled around his body had completely disappeared. It was as if nothing had happened.

He had clearly felt excruciating pain before. He had even thought he was going to die. But now, he was in an empty building.

“Am I dreaming?” He scratched his head in confusion.

Gideon sat up. His breathing became more even. He looked around cautiously and found himself alone in the empty building. He no longer saw the few workers who had been busy earlier. He was sure he had seen several people there before. But now he was alone. He didn't even see the two people who had come earlier.

“Is this really a dream?”

He sighed and tried to make sense of everything. It all seemed so real. But nothing terrible had happened to him. Even the large block that had fallen on him had disappeared without a trace. And the distinct sound of bones cracking hadn't paralyzed him at all.

Gideon looked at his watch. He was shocked to see that it was already 8 a.m. This surprised him.

But seeing Gideon's face right in front of him, he remembered who he was.The Gideon he recognized was his friend's son. He wasn't wrong about that, and he had more than a passing knowledge of them. He knew that his friend—Gideon's father—was poor.He had witnessed Gideon's father living in poverty and struggling so hard just to survive. It was impossible for parents like that to raise their son to such a great person; it sounded like a ridiculous and implausible fairy tale."No." He shook his head and smiled, trying to calm himself, taking Justin's words as a joke.Unlike Gideon, Justin was an important person he needed to deal with properly. She knew Justin as well as she did Gideon's background. Justin was a senior executive at White.Inc

William raised his eyebrows in surprise, but that surprise quickly turned to anger. He glared at Gideon. "This place is reserved for important people. He wouldn't be able to act arrogantly in front of William, who held power at White.Inc Corp.Sensing that Gideon's anger wasn't enough, Jolie added further spice to it, "I've already told him that, sir, but this man is arrogant and still sitting there. He truly has no sense of self."William's gaze sharpened, focused on Gideon. Jolie's words rang true because even now, Gideon was sitting cross-legged, unassumingly in front of her, who held power there. "Get your feet out of there right now!" the man said firmly. But Gideon didn't budge. He remained where he was, ignoring William's instructions."Who exactly are you, and why did you come into this place? Who gave you permission to come?" The man questione

Normally, he never ignored her, acted coldly toward her, or even contradicted her.The Gideon she knew was a cowardly man who obeyed whatever she said, lacking the courage to challenge or even assert his opinion in their relationship. She tried to dial the same number again, but just as before, she still received no answer. Her brow furrowed even deeper. "What is he doing? Is he really that busy that he can't even answer my calls?" She took a deep breath to calm herself. She was supposed to be meeting with Handy today. He had scheduled a contract signing for her today, but since this morning, he had disappeared.
