Con didn't tell Adeline anything more than he had already told and she didn't pull the trigger on him.

He had seen her hands shaking slightly and he had heard her heart pounding in her chest. He could see tears shining in her bright brown eyes and he could see how much she was trying to hold herself together.

He knew she had made a connection.

Xavier and Mark had been good friends.

There was every possibility that Mark had mentioned the silver haired man and there was every possibility that he hadn't.

Con would have liked to believe he hadn't, if not for the question Adeline had asked him after she pointed the gun directly at his head.

Adeline Highton wasn't foolish.

Con knew a man that would have liked to think she was. His father would have thought she was foolish.

Something about Adeline pointing a gun to his head made Con think of his mother, and of home.

Not home but rather the house he spent a few years of his life in.

His crew had been his home. They would always be his home
