The corridor was dimly lit, torches flickering along the stone walls as the footsteps drew nearer. Nira’s and Tiffany’s gazes were fixed on the shadowy figure that was becoming more of a giant as it approached.

Finally, Selene walked out with a weird look on her face. "What is going on here?"

The word escaped from her mouth. "Aren't you both supposed to be in bed?"

Tiffany smirked, her body slightly resting on the cold walls. "Says for a lady who is supposed to be in her father's home. What the hell do you want? Did your father send you here to come and check if he is dead?"

The word hit Selene like a tidal wave, making her clench her fist in anger. "As funny as it may sound, Kael is trying to hold onto his life, and I, I am his sister. If not by my mother's side, then by my father's side. I think I have the right to be by his side, but I can't say the same for you lots."

Nira, who had been silently looking at the both of them, said nothing but began to find her way towards Kael
