Chapter 11

He believes that this is it.

The old man tells them, "Fohr, Novi is prepared to test your strength," as they stand side by side.Beat Him in combat to show that you are more valuable than just a glance. There is no magic, so do as you please.Get ready now.

Novi tries to make a funny remark, but the words don't come out.He shakes off the thought that he should just let Fohr win.He is still an elf, and no one likes weaklings. He'll fight like a fighter.

Fohr's expression has changed completely to seriousness. He says in a low, deep voice, "Let's do this."

The man steps back and says, "Fight," as soon as they are prepared.

Fohr charges right away, arms extended and head down.Novi prepares to respond to his attacker by bracing for the tackle. He realizes his deception too late.He spartan-kicks His in the chest just before he reaches His by suddenly straightening back up during the charge.

His momentum is taken away by the kick, which causes him to stumble back.Fohr lunges forward to wrestle His in an effort to take advantage of his successful attack.Novi is stunned enough to respond to his attack, even though he is barely breathing. He dodges and grabs his shoulder as he tries to grapple with him around the neck.He could essentially win if He is able to drag him to the ground.Naturally, he won't be so easily embarrassed that He pulls back before He can pull him forward.

Novi is now ready to strike. He kicks him in the side as soon as He regains his balance. He dodges by jumping back, then jumps forward for a standard punch. He evades it and strikes back with his own punch. He is committed to his own strike and is unable to block. His full fist strikes his face, forcing him to retreat.Novi immediately strikes once more.He manages to stop the blow this time.He manages to turn his own arm up and over his shoulder as he tries to force him down into a headlock.

The crowd responds with, "Fohr.Do you mean it?”

He manages to grab his head and back with a single swift movement before attempting to slam it down on His knee.He could repeat the move until he is defeated if it worked, but he underestimates his strength. He manages to catch himself before his head hits his knee, and he pulls himself back up with a bear-like roar.

Novi loses his balance as a result of the sudden force.

Fohr lunges wild at His and throws himself at him.He sees him fly at His, but he doesn't react fast enough. His body bangs into Murmur, tossing them both on the ground. "Show Him what you've got, Fohr!Another person yells.

He punches him in the face to prevent him from pinning him to the ground.

An error.

By tanking the punch, he can use his body weight to lock down His arm while the powerful blow takes his breath away.He uses his free arm to put His in a crude but effective chokehold while holding down His arm with one hand. They fight for a while, and Novi eventually feels like he's running out of air.He feels more at ease now that he has won.

Fohr immediately releases his chokehold as the resistance to his grip diminishes.

Novi mutters, "You are worthy."He gives up immediately and lets himself fall to the ground. They both lie on the ground, gasping for air, while the crowd cheers.

While the elderly elf yells, "Fohr has proven that he is worthy of Novi," their relatives assist them in getting up.Therefore, it is the gods' intention for them to obtain His.Is there anyone who wants to question this?”

Novi looks around and sees His motHis in the crowd. If He didn't like him, this would be his chance to challenge Fohr.He will not, of course. He is beaming with joy.

The next question asks whether he will travel with his house or House Oritoris and join them. However, that is a question that their ancestors will need to address. He is much more interested in Fohr, who leans in for a passionate kiss at the moment.

Scott senses himself awakening.

He has always slept for a long time, and as soon as he opens his eyes, he anticipates seeing the sun.as it had always been in His room.

He is struck by a wall of darkness, shocking Him.

A solid mass of black and a hint of red fills his vision. In some places, the red highlights gradually begin to fade, while in others, they become more intense.

The presence of four of His people in the room with Him, all of whom are still asleep, is indicated by four red shapes.

Scott is shocked. He would always wake up last on weekends when they could sleep in.His brother typically returned from his morning jog by the time He was able to drag himself down.

Scott just tries to close his eyes once more because everyone else is asleep. He had trouble not falling asleep again when He woke up early as a human, typically using the alarm clock on His phone.

Now it's exactly the opposite.

His body won't let go.A strange tingling that urges His to move grows stronger the more He tries to remain still. He has no better brain. He tries to relax and clear his head, but all his brain wants to do is focus.

He uses a variety of strategies to fight against himself, but the strange need to do something only gets worse the more he tries to resist it.

He eventually gives up.

His vision's red highlights give him a general idea of where everything is, making it easy for him to get around in the dark.He tries to look outside through the windows in the living room, but his red sight is blocked by the glass.Instead, it appears to be a mirror that only reflects the red portion of His vision, leaving the rest as a black wall that is nearly solid.

He gets up and quietly takes off his blanket.

He doesn't even want to know what it smells like to wake up in normal clothes rather than pajamas. However, He has more pressing issues than worrying about his likely poor hygiene.like finding out how He will get breakfast.

’God.He quickly shakes his breakfast fantasies out of his head, but the damage is already done. "I could really use some bacon and pancakes right now..."

He immediately lets his stomach know that he would like to eat pancakes and bacon sooner rather than later. He murmurs and cramps up to make sure he's serious. Before looking around the room, Scott clenches His teeth and waits for the burning to stop.

The front door is the only way out because getting to the garden door would require crossing several people.

He discovers that it is locked, but the key is in the hole. The door is unlocked with a soft clack after a slow turn.

Scott makes sure to turn a small lever in the door frame before he leaves. It will stop the lock from closing abruptly. Then, as quietly as possible, He shuts the door.

When he went outside, he didn't realize how thick the air inside the house was.He takes a deep breath of fresh air as a cool breeze blows over him.

He simply stands there for a short while.listening and breathing. His surroundings seem almost out of place in the darkness.Despite its usefulness in the dark, his red sight appears to have a very limited range, even though it is accurate enough to allow him to see around him.He didn't really pay much attention to it yesterday, but darkness obscures anything more than four or five paces away.Black street lights are used to keep the night away normally.Behind the clouds, even the moon is hidden.

Until he hears footsteps, he listens.Over the street, a red shape appears.Scott was bathed in light before He could say anything. He is forced to look away because the sudden brightness makes his eyes burn.

"Out there, what are you doing?"The Hisiff asks as he lowers his gun and flashlight. He is now dressed entirely in a police uniform, unlike yesterday.Given His new body, it seems to fit him well, and Scott can tell that everything, with the exception of the Hisiff's jeans, is from the original uniform.

"Cant sleep any longer."

"A nightmare?" asks the Hisiff.

Scott gives a head shake.No.I just feel extremely awake and restless.

It appears to be an elf issue.Come.”His follows as the Hisiff waves.Do you also have that night vision that looks red?”

“Mm-hmm.”Scottrods.

Everything returns to darkness when the Hisiff turns off the flashlight. The Hisiff's body loses all color and features when the light goes out, and all that remains of him is a red shape.

Scott follows him across the street and into His house's backyard. The person in question is not sitting at a small table. He can see that the normal and red light emanating from the candle in front of him.The individual remains shrouded in darkness despite the fact that it barely illuminates the table.

As they get closer, the shape gives a head-up.That's what you heard, then.I suppose we must now find something other than chess.

"Don't let me hold you two back.",As he settles down next to the man, Scott says.

The Hisiff settles into the chair in front of him.Nah.It's okay.We can't play cards in the dark, let's see... maybe Ludo?”

The other person just shrugs, so he takes the board game box and sets it on the table.

“Smoke?”,Scott is presented with a pack of cigarettes by the Hisiff.Scott shakes his head before rolling the dice. With a shrug, the Hisiff places the cigarettes in His pocket.I probably shouldn't harm my brand-new lungs, you know.

"So, what is the strategy for tomorrow?"Scott inquires after He has made His move.
