Lizzy watches as the woman before her trembles, her lips quivering painfully as the wind breezes through the room.
Outside, it still rains in torrent. She looks confused as her finger digs into the sofa with the other, circling round the cup of brewing coffee that was with her. “So is that all that happened?” Lizzy questions. She was still finding all this hard to believe. She steals a quick gaze at Lilian that is standing akimbo, and lets out a deep breath as she stares out of the window again at the sky that is hovering around her. “Yes, I didn't know what to expect because I came to you. You promised that I could always come, right?” She stutters, looking utterly scared. Lizzy feels a pang in her chest, and as she walks slowly to where she is, she has a lot on her mind, and the woman right there at that moment was the least of her worries. “Everything is fine now…” She mutters. As she touched her briefly, Lizzy could feel the torrent of emotions fleeting in a burst of her adrenaline. The woman, timid and filled with uncertainty, trembled beneath her touch. Who could have made her this scared? Why was she this scared? Multiple questions creep through her mind, still she has no answers, nothing. “Tell me, do you recognize anyone? Do you have any names or ideas from where they took you to?" For a while, all that filled the room was silence. At first, as for no certain reason, she broke down crying. This wasn't from the trauma of everything that happened, rather it was from the fear… It was all glaring in her eyes, the fear that all these might not be over. The uncertainty. “It had all happened like a flash, the men dragged me away and we drove for long moments…” she sighs, voice above a whisper. She looks up at the women before her. “I am sorry that is the only thing I can come up with." Lizzy stood still, disappointed but quiet. Almost, like she was thinking all these through again. Perhaps, she feared something worse happening, or the fact that this could be a setup. Her fear was unknown to the other women in the room at that moment. One thing ran through her mind sequentially and that was the fact that she had to fix this. the feeling left a hunger for revenge… She had to do something! "I am going to find you, no matter where you hide yourself… I am going to destroy you for making me go through all of these.” She clenches her fist. Ignoring the urge to stay there and offer more comfort or ask many more questions, she had a quick look at her mother as she let herself up and practically stormed away. She had barely walked a few meters when she felt someone touching her arm. Apparently, her mother had been walking behind her all this while. She turned and could see the look of anxiety in her mother's eyes as well. “Do you believe her? What are we going to do?" Lizzy remained quiet, before she gave a deep sigh. "I don't know. Honestly, I really do not know." It had been an hour since the incident, but still it was hard to take her mind off the entire incident, mostly because she couldn't pin anything from the little information gotten from the unexpected guest. Her soul felt colder with each tick of her pulse. Something tells her that she shouldn’t be taking a walk when the answers to her questions were still at large but she couldn't help herself… While there was a need to burn off her anxious energy, this was the only way she could cleanse her mind, the only way that she could have any sanity. At this moment, she didn't know what to expect after everything that happened. Lizzy felt like she could walk that way forever, but her body soon gave way. With time she got tired and walked home. Moreover it made no sense leaving her mom all by herself with a woman she felt uncertain about. Looking tattered, soon she approaches home after wandering in the cold. Her breath comes in short clouds in front of her face as she walks, making it so noticeable that she is tired and has faced quite a critical situation. As the front porch was coming closer into view, her heart was still bleeding, bitter from everything that was happening. There are too many things to process. “Lizzy, where in the hell had you been?! You got me worried." Came her mothers anxious voice. "Where is she?” She asks, not stopping. Her mother steps out of the way, pointing in the direction of the doors. “You know all of this wouldn't have happened if not for some lame prank that you tried to play! I told you this could get very bad… I wished you had listened to me!” Part of her is furious, not at her mother that wouldn't stop talking, but at the situation of things. When she finally stopped, it was In front of the guest room. She knocked twice and got no answers. Panic shoots through her chest as she frantically knocks again. “I thought you said she was inside?" Lizzy hollered, still knocking. The door seems locked from behind which made her even more infuriated. What in the hell was now going on?! “Hold on, let me get the spare." Her mother offers. She left Lizzy who was still trying to get the door to open. When her mother arrived, she stepped back, letting the older woman to the door. The door finally opens to an empty room, and the bathroom door flies open next. All empty. “Where the heck is she?!" Lizzy hollered again, voice hoarse. From the look of things, she looks to have gotten out without her mother's notice, but how? And why? She takes a look around the room, but till that moment, nothing ever screams unsafe as it did at that moment. She was about to speak, to ask if she had seen anything when her attention caught the window open. “She left." Both women chorused. One hour later… In an attempt to find her, they had been out driving for the past one hour. But still, there was no sign of her. The car is moving at a slow speed, from time to time, her eyes darts down the road under the dim gaze of the car headlight. “Maybe we should just go home. We had been out for a long time, and there had been no signs of her.” Her mother chimes in after a while. “No one is going home till we find her. Moreover, all of this is your fault.” Lizzy rolls an accusing eyes at her mother. “You can't blame me young woman! We wouldn't be in this mess if you hadn't left home!" Her mother, Liliana, fires back, angry. Lizzy groans. She leans against the steering wheel for a closer view aware of what the indication of that truth would be. "You are part of this too." She started, without looking away from the road. "I just… I just want the best for you and you know it." Lillian starts, not giving Lizzy much as a second look. Lizzy frowns. "Well, all this is falling apart. I don't even know what I want anymore." She pauses, and looks her in the eye. "What if I fail?" Just before she can answer, she looks around and could see the familiar trees around as they were almost arriving home. Lizzy stops just before they get to the estate gate. “Everything would be fine, trust me… We are going to find whoever is behind this. We will find her too.” Her mother reassures. "What if… What if she was sent. Are you not scared of that?" "You'd need to calm down." Lillian raps her fingers against the glove compartment of the car. “You will be fine, I am in this with you." Lizzy gives her mother a smile as both alighted from the car. She moves slowly, stressed and tired. Her legs burn from the walk earlier in the dark, plus the fact that she was still usually unsettled. They walk further inside, but stop and frown when they notice it... The light that usually illuminates her apartment was on, which she thought was possibly wrong. The dark outline of the residence shines in the glow of light as both women stop in their tracks, like they both realized what they have missed. “Didn't you switch off the light before you left?" Her mother asks, unsure and a bit scared. Lizzy stands firm, her gaze not leaving the residence. She most definitely did. Something felt wrong. Beatrice has left, they just came back in search of her, so... So who is in the apartment?

Beneath The Silence
Rain still tapped the windows along with the tick of the clock but Andrew stood frozen, his jaw clenched so tightly it ached. His mind was rattled, this was definitely something and the empty spot where the car had been was a clue.He stared at the empty spot where the car had been minutes ago, its absence leaving a deep pain in his heart.“I can't believe all of this." He ran his hands over his face in disbelief as a surge of fury exploded in his chest as he turned and punched the nearest wall, the sharp pain grounding him just enough.“Goddammit,” he muttered, punching out a number on his smart military watch and dialing Mason's number. It rang once. Twice.“Mason here,” came the familiar voice.“I need you. Now. At Verizon. I think we’ve had a breach.”Silence for a second.“Breach?” He stalled for a minute. " What kind of breach?”“The kind I can't explain yet. But someone was here. I saw the shadow on the hallway feed. And now… nothing. They’re gone. I need you to lock down eve
Shadow And Truth
The air inside the Verizon building had shifted and it all started the moment Andrew had spotted the car. For some reason he couldn't just get it off his mind.“Something seems off…” He muttered, taking a step backward. For what felt like a minute of eternity he listened evenly. If he could hear anything with his years in the military, he would be able to pick any slight sound. Sighing he shrugged his shoulders, there was nothing afterall…There was nothing but solace and quietness that filled the room. There was no music playing, no soft hum of janitors working through their routine. Just the dull throb of the emergency lights and the faint creak of something far away. As he moved slowly towards the sounds, Andrew slowed his steps as he reached the fifth-floor landing, every muscle in his body tense at the anticipation for what was to comeSomething was off. He could feel it in the way the building was quiet, too quiet. And he couldn't let it go.He paused again near the fire exit d
Into Verizon
It had been tiring for Lizzy at this point, she was out of options…She had to carry out her most pending plan regardless of what it felt like, risk or not.Looking out of the window of the cafe lost for a while, she took a quick look at her watch.Burke was running late as usual. She kissed her teeth in disapproval before getting lost again in the other world.Outside the sky hung heavy with dark clouds that promised a threat of rain. The Streetlights cast it shimmering light right to where she took every breath and turned at every footstep. She sat at the far end of a dimly lit cafe, enough to be hidden from everyone else but him, her eyes kept flickering between the entrance and the half-empty cup in her hand. So far the place was quiet with just a few sounds from her fingers that tapped against the ceramic mug rhythmically.“What the hell, why is he taking eternity!" She grumbles. She picks up her phone and dials his cell. "Hello, what is taking you too long? Just tell me if…”S
Echoes In The Dark
It had been hours since the team began working, and the energy inside the room was tense, but focused. As they worked tirelessly, only one thing was at the back of their individual mind and that was finding that bit of the missing puzzle:Who was this anonymous man?The question imprinted a deep worry on Andrew who sat at the far end of the room, quietly observing everyone move from screen to screen, map to map, piecing fragments together. The silence in his mind, however, was deceptive. As deep in it, was something else… Something very disturbing that he didn't know how to pin at that moment, was this another plot from Lizzy?Every possibility spun inside his head like a carousel he couldn’t get off questions, half-formed answers, that was racing through the depth of his mind. The thought that someone might be out there wearing his face, using his name, walking in his shadow, disturbed him more than he admitted aloud…Mason walked over, and placed a cup of coffee in front of him.
Return And Revelation
Soon, they left the detention facility behind as the car surged forward. Andrew barely noticed the passing scenery, or Mason's conversation with someone over the phone. Thoughts of what had just happened wouldn't leave his head. After a while, Mason turned slightly to face him and said, "Are you okay, Master? You seem... distracted.""Of course I am," Andrew snapped, and went on to tell him about the person Carl said was posing as him. Mason's eyes grew wider as he listened. "The impostor somehow knew, and then used my security codes before vanishing without a trace," Andrew finished in a low growl. "Without a trace," Mason repeated slowly. "Forgive me but I find that hard to believe. This misidentification thing is just an excuse if you ask me."Andrew nodded. Mason had just spoken his mind. "Yes... I think so too," he agreed. *******Baron was standing outside the building when Andrew and Mason arrived."Finally!" he exclaimed upon seeing Andrew. He heaved a sigh of relief a
Dopple What?
For what felt like an eternity, Andrew stood still at the spot, his face bewildered with shock and anxiety with both feelings leaving him in a thrill.“This is not possible, you should be dead!" He grimaced. He ran his fingers through his already ruffled hair as he could feel a rush of adrenaline through his blood stream that brought his heart beat almost to a halt.“Well, Commander…I must say you are the last person that I was expecting to see here.” Carl turned to the man close to where he was and whispered something inaudibly. The man gave a nod and walked away leaving the two men alone.Carl clears his throat. "I just asked that he reconfirm if we have the right person, there was no way I could have missed your name …” he sighs. " Though I never checked to see who we were going after, you know how it is for a bounty hunter like myself.” Andrew clenches his fist in anger or malice but a sense of understanding at how frustrating the situation was turning out to be.“It is fine, I
