THE TRANSITION

CHAPTER 7

Churchill knew the thought of Dr. Maxi that he wants him to feel embarrassed and make the Welly family throw him out of the mansion but he regained his confidence after Mr. Wallace had talked to him.

He gathered all the boldness left in him to speak to prove Dr. Maxi wrong in front of everyone

“ I can see you are very mad at me for what happened earlier which I have apologized for,

But trust me what the old man is going through is not a matter of hospital medications he needs other medications which you as a doctor do not know.

.

I know for sure after all the screening and scanning in the hospital you were not able to know what is actually wrong with him that is why you brought him back home.

Not all diseases need medications from the hospital,. Try that you shouldn’t forget you can’t prescribe a medicine to someone for which you don’t know what the person is going through that is what you are doing now.

You are giving our master the wrong medications which can lead to death if you don’t know Dr.,

If I were you I would have stopped giving this medication a long time ago when I realized it was not going to yield any results.

The master is weak to the extent that he can’t stand by himself and if we continue to argue he might lose it which you will be blamed not me.

And for all, you said about me am sure you will regret it later when am done with everything. I ask for your permission to treat our master with my medicine which I believe with a twinkle of an eye he will be back on his feet with no doubt.

This medicine here has saved the lives of so many people from where I came from which makes it exceptional.

Not all diseases can be cured in the hospital because at my place, we don’t believe in hospitals but our homemade medicine which has been very beneficial to us all.

This medicine you see to be nothing and fraud has saved the life of old men and old women in society.

If you permit your assistant small doctor to use my medicine could stand up sooner than you think.”

They all opened their mouth in surprise after Churchill had finished talking.

They wondered who really Churchill was and how he could talk with such boldness to a well known Dr. Maxi.

Dr. Maxi could not believe his eyes and ears he was astonished by Churchill’s words he also realized that the family was surprised as he was they were curious and waiting for what Churchill could do to save Mr. Welly’s life he tried to defend himself

“ Oh….Really…

I can see how brave you are to talk back at me like this I still stand against what you are about to do because I know it won’t yield any results as you said to me.

You said scanning and screening weren’t able to detect what’s wrong with Mr. Welly how much more are you a low class young boy who has nothing to detect what’s wrong I guess what’s wrong with our master was revealed to you in your dream.

There’s no time to waste young man if you are able to prove me wrong which I know for sure you can’t I would leave here right away without wasting much time!”

Churchill chuckled as he stared at Dr. Maxi who had this furious face on, he sneered at him because what he was about to do was something easy for him which he has been doing for a long time.

He walked pass Dr. Maxi to the bed where Mr. Welly was laying he whispered into the ears of the Dr. with a smile

“ You shouldn’t walk away when am done but rather stay and jubilate with us”

Dr. Maxi was irritated by Churchill’s attitude so he made a promise

“ I promise to pay you one million dollars if you are able to make the master stand.”

The guards and Mr. Wallace turned to look at each other in surprise they whispered

“ one million dollars……….”

With their eyes widely open.

The Welly family couldn’t believe what was going on.

Churchill looked back at the doctor and mocked him

“please get it ready”

He blinked one eye as he went to sit beside Mr. Welly.

Churchill took out a bag of medicine which he had made earlier, the medicine was made with herbs he came with from the mountains where he came from it was an African medicine which has been soaked in water for some days.

He made this medicine after he left the airport because he knew the master wouldn’t recover sooner or later in the hospital since they won’t find out what actually is wrong with the old man this would make the Welly family come back looking for him soon, he was fully prepared for them.

He gave the medicine to Mr. Welly to drink and that he should not leave a drop in the bottle.

Everyone was just looking at them in dilemma.

Mr. Welly felt guilty for not listening to Churchill at the airport and looking down on him.

He took the medicine without asking Churchill any questions because he was already in pain which doctors couldn’t cure and he also believed in Churchill because he has saved him twice.

After taking the medicine his facial expression changed showing how bitter the medicine was Mr. Welly began to cough heavily hitting his chest

Churchill tapped his back telling him to lay on the bed for some seconds he will be fine he took a brownish cream made of herbs and applied it on the back of Mr. Welly.

The family members around stood up in haste but Mr. Welly was not surprised at all because he knew it was for the good.

Dr. Maxi smirked at the beginning as he looked at Churchill and Mr. Welly with a winning face but just after 1 minute, his face changed…
