THE TRANSITION

CHAPTER 6

Dr. Maxi who was in charge of Mr. Welly’s health after he was discharged from the hospital

He got scared and frightened as a result of Churchill’s loud voice.

His hands shook as the pills fell, and the nurse broke the glass of water out of shock.

Everyone in the room was angry except for Mr. Welly and the guard who knew Churchill from the plane.

Dr. Maxi stood up furiously to look at Churchill for a while without uttering a word.

Churchill’s heart skipped a beat as everyone’s eye was on him.

He prayed in his thought and felt shy because he wasn’t expecting this to happen. He turned to look at Mr. Wallace who was standing beside him with his two hands behind him

“ I hope I didn’t cause any trouble”

He whispered to Mr. Wallace.

Mr. Wallace shook his head with a wild smile

Churchill turned back to look at them with all the courage left in him he greeted them in a low tone

“ Good morning everyone. I’m Churchill” he grinned.

They all turned back to look at Mr. Welly with no response.

Churchill wasn’t bothered because he wasn’t there to meet them.

Seeing the old man’s condition Churchill felt bad and helpless.

He tried to walk to the bed where Mr. Welly was laying to check up on him but was stopped by Dr. Maxi.

“ Hey young man !!

Stop right there!!......

And where do you think you are going to?” Dr. Maxi asked Churchill.

As everyone was curious about why Churchill was there and who he was with such boldness.

“Do you realize what you’ve caused?

Do you know how expensive this pill is?

What are you doing here?

Who invited you here anyways huh !?”

Churchill was downhearted he knew things weren’t going to be easy for him in the presence of Dr. Maxi but he wasn’t there to teach him his work but to save the master,” he thought

Churchill walked back and introduced himself again.

He told them he was invited by Mr. Welly

“I’m sorry for shouting at you earlier on, wasn’t intentional but that was the only thing I could do,” said Churchill to Dr. Maxi.

Dr. Maxi was not comfortable with Churchill’s first impression and his existence around he thought Churchill has come to make him a fool in the presence of the Welly family.

“ Young man,

I can see you are here to make trouble, isn’t it?

Do you know the benefits of these pills to the patient!?

Yelled Dr. Maxi who was very angry.

The atmosphere in the room changed to a serious conversation with the members of the family were murmuring to themselves. Mr. Welly was just on the bed looking at them.

Mr. Wallace went and tap Dr. Maxi and asked him to calm down because he was instructed by their master to go and bring Churchill.

“ I know am not qualified as you are but trust me these pills aren’t good for our Master’s health. In his condition now, taking pills will result in something worse.

They aren’t useful Dr. since he started taking these pills has there been any improvement?

I’m not sure because these pills are killing our master slowly and if he continues to take them he is going to die!

You don’t know the disease our master is suffering from do you ?.” Churchill concluded.

When talking everyone was surprised to hear such words from Churchill

“ I’m glad you have realized you aren’t a qualified doctor to teach me my work!

I can see you are here to cause serious trouble. Don’t try to teach me how to take care of my patient. If u have nothing doing go out and wait for us!.”

Said Dr. Maxi but couldn’t answer Churchill’s last question.

Dr. Maxi thought he felt embarrassed

“ I haven’t been embarrassed like this before since I started my work 20 years ago.

How can this young wretched man come from nowhere to, win the hearts of the Welly family?

No,

I have to act fast before the worse happens!

I won’t sit for this boy to take over my position!” he thought.

Sneering at Churchill Dr. Maxi knew he was too young to be a good doctor he had nothing proving he was a doctor too.

He saw that Churchill was just a young man trying to take advantage of the Welly family.

He tried to convince the family not to pay heed to what Churchill was saying because he was not a doctor and had no idea about what Dr. Maxi is doing.

“ What this guy is saying is bullshit! You shouldn’t listen to him. When a professional Doctor is talking you silly boy is here talking about you knowing better.” Dr. Maxi spoke

He turned to Mr. Welly with a straight face and asked Mr. Welly to kick Churchill out of the mansion because he has nothing to offer.

Mr. Welly after listening to the doctor turned deaf ears and looked at the other side of the room to look at Churchill instead of kicking him out, he saluted him respectfully.

Mr. Welly ignored what the doctor said and smiled at Churchill.

“ I have been in the hospital for a while now but there has not been any improvement in my health many medications have been given but still the same.

This young man saved my life the other time on the plane which we doubted before. He is the only person I think can save me because he has done it before on the plane and at the airport.

Please allow him this time around too.” Mr. Welly said

Mr. Welly was really frustrated by the actions of Dr. Maxi but waited for Churchill to prove them wrong because he knew what Churchill could do.

Dr. Maxi was still not convinced he thought

Churchill was just a young man and didn’t deserve any respect from the master Mr. Welly as he does. He was totally embarrassed, also he lost face being yelled at by Churchill.

“There are guys just like him who go out to scam people for money I hope you know?

This boy is a fraud can’t you see?

He has come here looking so pitiful to get the attention of you all. Mr. Welly doesn’t fall for his trap believe me he has nothing good to offer.

He will dupe you with a huge amount of money and then run away.

You all shouldn’t fall for his stupid prank, remember he is not a qualified doctor but a self called doctor who moved from one wealthy house to the other to prank them and immediately leave that country.

As you all can see he is not from America am very sure he did what he is about to do to you and to someone else wherever he is from.”

Dr. Maxi tried to convince the family and Mr. Welly.

The family and guards present were just looking at Churchill with the different mindsets they whispered to each other but couldn’t say anything because their master has already talked about him.

Churchill was really embarrassed by the words of Dr. Maxi.

Mr. Wallace on the other side walked to him he smiled and whispered

“ hey don’t be sad…. We know what you can do that’s why Mr. Welly asked to call you.

So don’t let his words melt your bold heart”
