His wife is special
Nathan was agitated as he watched Laura clean his hands. She was not talking. He tried to start a conversation with her, but the woman was quiet.

“He deserves it if anyone dares to insult my wife…they pay heavily,” Nathan said with a frown. He hated it when people said bad things about his wife.

“Is that why you acted like a barbarian in front of the executives,” Laura asked and pressed on his injuries so hard that Nathan cried out in pain.

“Woman!” He muttered, feeling the little sharp sting, Laura frowned even more and took clean cotton to clean out the blood.

“Bernardo's men will hold this against you…they'll try certainly to find faults, and you just gave them an excuse to crucify you,” Laura remarked more seriously. She knew how those men were. They were thirsty for power. Bernardo handing everything to Nathan was a hard blow to their dignity. It was obvious they were investigating how to dethrone him.

“I don't care, just know this,” Nathan whispered and reached for Laura's chin.
