“What was that for?” Landon was very annoyed right now.

Landon had said he would give her money in a couple of minutes. He just needed to withdraw and that would be all but instead, he got slapped by Elena.

“Are you stupid?! Really a few minutes?! So is that the lie you want to tell me so that I will let you go away and I won’t see you again for a while?! You are a very terrible human being! Was I a bad person to borrow you some money?! Tell me?! You are not only poor but the worst person ever!” Elena yelled.

“But I said I just need to withdraw so that I can pay you so why do you have to slap me?!” Landon was fuming right now.

“Oh really?” Elena replied unwilling to believe him. “You want a few minutes to go withdraw the money huh?! Who do you take for a fool? If you want to pay me my money you will ask for my account details and make a transfer! You don’t need to go withdraw away to go make a withdrawal you imbecile! Just admit it you want to ditch me without paying me today!”

“That’s not true!”

“Then if so just do the transfer!”

“I can’t do a transfer right now…but I can make a withdrawal!” Landon replied calmly after realizing they Elena was simply misunderstanding him.

The truth was that he couldn’t really do a transfer because there was no money in his personal bank account.

He only has money in the black card Eve had given him which was why he needed to withdraw and pay Elena in cash. Maybe later he may decide to transfer some funds from the black card to his personal bank account using an ATM but Elena does not know this. She mistook his attempt of trying to pay her for him escaping.

“Liar! You think you can get away without paying my money but you are going to pay me today!”

“I will pay you your money just let me make a withdrawal!”

“Just a transfer goddamn it! Why can’t you transfer to me right now if you don’t have cash.”

“That’s because I can’t…”Landon did not know how to explain himself out of this situation but he could not tell Elena about his black card so he could only insist on his excuse. “Please I have the money. I can’t transfer you just have to let me make a withdrawal.”

Elena grabbed Landon’s shirt and was about to give him another slap until the young man she was with held her hands.

“Dear, you don’t need to do this. You are a classy lady. Don’t let this filthy trash ruin our day. Tell me how much he owes you?”

“Fernando this imbecile owes me 300 dollars and today he’s going to pay!”

“It’s okay dear. It’s okay.” Fernando replied. “I’ll make a transfer of 1000 dollars to you on his behalf just let the lowlife be and we will be on our way.”

At this point, people had already gathered due to the scene Elena was causing and Fernando’s gesture was instantly noticed by the ladies around.

“Oh wow, he sure is handsome.”

“He’s also a gentleman as well. He doesn’t look like a student.”

“I wish I could have a boyfriend like him.”

People started praising Fernando and it made him feel good about himself. In fact, he’s not really a student but a graduated corporate heir who loves to pick beauties on campus. Elena was indeed a beauty and he planned to take her shopping today so behaving gentlemanly was one sure way to get into Elena’s heart and then her pants. Haha.

“Fernando you don’t need to pay for him!” Elena insisted.

“Don’t worry I insist. Just let go of the trash don’t let him waste our time! ” Fernando smiled.

“Elena let go of the Low life. We still have to go out after all.”

Slap!

Listening to Fernando Elena let go of Landon’s collar but not without giving him one more slap.

“Better thank goodness you are lucky that Fernando helped you today you poor imbecile.”

At this point, Landon gritted his teeth in anger. This is the second time Elena had slapped him.

To be honest he was tempted to return the favor ten times but he decided against it because she was a woman. Before Landon even had time to react Elena and Fernando had walked away not caring about his opinion at all.

“Hahaha. Hey imbecile! Try to make some money so that you won’t be slapped like that again!”

A voice was heard among the bystanders which caused laughter to erupt among the crowd.

Landon had been placed in a bad mood because of the embarrassment he had just received. He only simply wanted to pay Elena back but two slaps was what he received in public.

Ring! Ring!

The sound of his phone ringing caught his attention from what was going on.

It was Jude.

[ “Bro where have you been all day? Are you okay” Jude asked after sensing Landon’s tonality. He could tell Landon was not in a good mood. ]

“I’m fine bro. I just submitted my term paper. What’s up?”

[“Where are you, bro?” ]

“I’m coming back to the dorm why?”

[ “Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten what today is?” ]

“Huh?….”Landon replied, feeling bewildered. “What’s happening today?”

[ “Bro come on! It’s Kara’s birthday today! It should be starting in an hour so find a way to be there! We don’t want you to be late so find a way to be there! Besides, there’s no way you are missing the fun today! We won’t be happy if you do” ]

Landon felt like he had been struck by lightning when he heard Jude’s reply. He had absolutely forgotten about Kara’s birthday.

“Don’t worry I’ll be there. I’ll definitely be there!”

[“Okay bro we will be waiting for you. I know you are going through a lot but let’s use this party as a means to forget our problems and have fun okay?!”]

Landon chuckled. “Of course, I’ll meet you guys there bro.”

Landon hung up and the minute he did his phone rang again.

It was Kara, herself!

Landon answered the call. “Hello, Kara.”

[ “Landon I called to remind you today is my birthday hope I’ll be seeing you this evening?!” ]

“Yes. I’ll be there.”

[ “Okay good. Remember it’s at Oceanic Oasis bar! I’m expecting to see you there!” ]

“I know I’ll be there.” Landon hung up and sighed.

He’s no longer going to the dormitory. Since it’s Kara’s birthday he had to get her a gift.

In normal circumstances this would’ve been a challenging task for him but was there anything normal about him anymore?

With 100 billion dollars now in his hands getting Kara a gift would not be a challenging task at all…

On that note, Landon hailed a cab out of campus on the mission of getting his dear friend something as a gift.

Landon was seething with unbridled anger, a fiery storm raging inside him, yet at the same time, he couldn’t help but feel an odd sense of vindication. The rage boiled in his chest like molten metal, but beneath it, there was a quiet affirmation that his instincts about Trixie had been correct all along. He knew with absolute certainty that Trixie would never attack another student without cause. She wasn’t the kind of child who lashed out carelessly. For her to reach a breaking point meant that something truly provoking had been done. In this case, being insulted so cruelly and without restraint was more than enough reason. To Landon, it was justification.Normally, he would have disapproved of her getting into fights, especially with children who hadn’t laid a finger on her. But this situation was different. He understood exactly where her fury came from and why she reacted the way she did. Landon himself had endured years of ridicule and insults when he was younger. He knew firstha

“A fight? Really?!” Landon exclaimed, his voice carrying a mixture of shock, disbelief, and a sharp sting of worry. His emotions surged like waves crashing against rocks, unpredictable and difficult to control.“But Trixie would never…” he muttered, as though trying to convince himself that what he had just been told could not possibly be true. His tone was firm, but underneath it trembled the voice of a father desperate to protect the image he held of his little girl. From the very first day Landon had known Trixie, she had seemed like an angel sent to earth. Sweet, bright-eyed, gentle, and endlessly kind, she never appeared capable of harboring even the faintest shadow of violence. To hear now that she had been involved in something as ugly as a fight was nothing short of astonishing. In Landon’s heart, a conclusion formed almost instantly. He hadn’t yet heard the full story, but in his mind, he pieced it together in a way that made sense to him. Surely, it must have been the other

Step by step, Landon ascended the wide staircase of his home. Each creak of the polished wooden steps carried a certain weight, a rhythm that marked both his steady pace and his deliberate intent. With every footfall, the sound of Daisy’s voice became clearer and more distinct to him. What had first been nothing more than a faint murmur drifting through the air now grew steadily into intelligible words.By the time he was halfway up, Landon no longer needed to focus or strain to make out what was being said. He could hear her naturally, word for word. This in itself was unusual, since Landon had long trained himself not to invade the private conversations of those who lived under his roof. His heightened senses—his ability to hear more keenly than most—were a gift he reserved for moments of true necessity. Normally, he made a conscious effort to block out what did not concern him. Privacy was a fragile thing, and he respected it as much as he could. But that did not mean he was immune

..“As you can clearly see, my wealth isn’t something to be looked down upon or underestimated in the slightest,” Landon began, his tone composed but assertive. He gestured confidently towards the magnificent estate towering behind him—a grand structure of modern luxury and classical elegance. Jeremy, sitting in the driver seat of his taxi a few feet away, instinctively turned his head to take in the view of the imposing residence. The well-manicured mansion—it all spoke volumes of affluence. Once satisfied with the sight, he turned his attention back to the young Sovereign before him.“Having such a vast amount of wealth and influence naturally means I have a vested interest in being thoroughly informed about both the broad developments and minute occurrences within this city I call home, wouldn't you agree?” Landon asked, his gaze steady.“Absolutely, sir,” Jeremy replied with a firm nod, his voice respectful and measured.“I’m glad we’re on the same page,” Landon said, folding his

It had been a rather swift journey, but eventually, Landon made it back home in one piece. As the car rolled to a gentle stop in front of his magnificent residence, he stepped out of the taxi, the door clicking softly behind him. The driver, however, remained seated, completely captivated by the grandeur of Landon’s apartment complex. His eyes widened as he took in the sheer opulence that surrounded them.“Wow,” the taxi driver muttered in awe, almost to himself but loud enough for Landon to hear. “To be honest, when you first told me the destination, I genuinely thought you were either pulling my leg or—worse—playing some elaborate prank to mess with me. I mean, no offense, sir, but it sounded like something straight out of a fantasy for someone of your sta— you know what? I’m just going to end that sentence there and continue. As I was saying, that skeptical feeling stuck with me the entire ride and it didn’t go away until the moment we were cleared through that security gate. Now t

..A heavy silence settled in the room, the kind of stillness that served as an unspoken signal—the meeting had come to a close, and it was time to make their exit.Without a word, Landon, Eve, and Quincy stood up from their seats. The guards who had accompanied Eve immediately fell into formation, assuming their positions at the front and rear of the group. Their eyes scanned the environment with vigilant precision, ensuring that nothing out of the ordinary would disrupt their departure from the secluded resort. As they began to walk, Landon turned slightly to his left, casting a curious glance at Quincy. “So, where do you stay?” he asked, breaking the silence with a casual but pointed question.Quincy looked back at his older brother, a faint grin playing on his lips. “Just a hotel somewhere around town,” he replied nonchalantly. “It hasn’t been long since I came to Dimvale, after all.”Landon groaned lightly at the answer, his expression a mix of amusement and mild concern.“Speak
