“Young master?” Landon frowned.

[“Yes young master where are you right now?” ]

Landon was confused. The female voice on the other end of the phone was too enticing to listen to unfortunately this lady must have mistaken him for someone else. He’s anything but a young master.

“I’m sorry you must have the wrong number.” Landon replied and he was almost about to hang up.

[ “No, no, no! Young master, I have the right number!” The female voice replied frantically on the phone. “I want to see you so that I can get you to catch up on things. I’m sure you must have already met him already. I’m sure you must have met our lord.” ]

Our lord? What lord? Landon had to pause because he was so confused at the moment.

It was almost as if the voice on the other end of the phone saw Landon’s confusion so she spoke again:

[ “You must have met our Lord. The Crimson silhouette.” ]

Landon was unconvinced with what the lady was saying on the other end of the phone but when he heard her words again his attention was definitely caught.

“The Crimson Silhouette?” Landon could not help but mutter out.

So his encounter with that thing yesterday really was real and not a dream? If it was a dream how did this mysterious caller know about his encounter with such a thing? This mysterious caller just helped him confirm it if he had any doubts before.

Right now, all he has are questions. So many questions and maybe this lady he’s on the call with can answer them.

“So…that thing is real…I have questions…what is that thing?” Landon asked with a serious tone.

[ “That is why I called you in the first place Young master. Tell me where you are and I’ll come meet you?” ]

Landon wanted to tell her to come to his dorm room but that was a bad idea. There will be no privacy. Maybe he should just see her in a cafeteria on campus. No, after what happened yesterday the last place he wanted to see this mysterious person would be inside the campus.

“Let’s meet at McDonald’s outside the Cradle Valley University campus.” Landon replied.

[ “Okay young master! I’ll be there in 30 minutes hope you don’t mind young master?” ]

“No, I don’t mind at all. I’ll see you there in 30 minutes.” Landon replied and the call ended.

To be honest, being called a young master was something that felt extremely odd to him.

“Who was that?” Jude asked, seeing how odd Landon’s replies were while he was on the phone.

“A friend. Guys, I have to go now.” Landon picked up his phone and rushed out of the dorm room before anyone else could say anything.

Jude and the rest of his dorm mates all looked at the exit door, Landon had disappeared into.

“Umm…Is he going to be okay?” One of his dorm mates asked feeling confused.

***

Landon quickly left the boy’s dormitory. On his way through the campus, he could feel various people gazing at him as they laughed and chatted.

Landon was not a fool to know what was going on.

The attention he was getting from almost everyone had to do with Xander’s post.

However, he frowned and ignored them. Landon hailed a cab and 15 minutes later he was at the McDonald’s restaurant.

Of course, he could have gotten here earlier if not for traffic but nothing was spoiled. The lady on the phone said 30 minutes. From the looks of it, he still has like 10 minutes before she arrives.

He entered the restaurant only to see it a bit crowded with people enjoying their meal. The reason why he loved this spot was because it was the only place that provided almost anyone with affordable food.

Speaking of food, Landon was pretty hungry. He checked his pocket only to gather the change in them to amount to ten dollars. It was his last money but this can at least get him a burger and fries.

Landon got into the cue leading to the food register.

“Hey, How much are all those?”

“A thousand dollars sir.”

“My God! Even with so many burgers I haven’t spent much. Now I can see why this place is just for anyone. I don’t know why everyone on the team just wants to eat burgers!”

“Sir…do you want to buy more or should I wrap all your orders up?”

“Buy more! This is enough! Wrap it up! Here’s $1500 cash! Keep the change!”

“Oh…thank you very much, sir! Thank you very much! I’ll wrap all your orders now!”

Landon felt the customer’s voice in the front was familiar and indeed when he looked at the front at the cashier spot he was not wrong.

‘Damn it!’

It was Xander. Tricia was even standing next to him while holding his hand and then there was Xander’s bodyguard standing behind them.

‘Damn it! The two of them are really the last people I want to see here!’

“Wow, he tipped the cashier $500 just like that? What a rich gentleman! He even has a bodyguard.”

“This beautiful lady next to him must be his girlfriend. She’s pretty lucky to have such a handsome guy as a boyfriend.”

“Isn’t that Xander Taylor?”

“It is definitely him. One of the richest playboys in Cradle Valley University and the captain of the Cradle Valley’s Crimson basketball team.”

“Oh wow..I wish I was the lucky girl in the place.”

In a second, Xander’s presence was already known in the entire restaurant.

Xander smiled feeling good about himself, his bodyguard picked up his neatly wrapped high numbers of burgers and they turned around to leave.

Landon wanted to turned around to leave the cue before Xander spotted him but unfortunately, his cover got blown.

“Landon!”

Tricia was the one who called out.

Xander stopped in his tracks and turned around with a frown on his face. Since he had already been caught there was no use trying to run

“It is really you! I can always remember a poor rat like you from afar! What are you doing here don’t tell me you are stocking me?!”

“Stocking you? And why will I be stocking you? I came here to get food just like everyone else of course!” Landon retorted.

“Food…” Tricia sneered. “Oh, I forgot this kind of establishment is for poor rats like you. Besides you can’t afford to eat in most Luxurious places in Dimvale city but my dear Xander can…and I’m happy you know that you both are not on the same level, isn’t that right honey?” Tricia boasted but Xander did not answer.

“Honey?” She looked at Xander who was looking at Landon with a stunned expression.

“Hey..hey, hey…how did the hell did you injuries get healed overnight?” Xander asked with a frown.

Even the bodyguard had taken notice because he had a frown on his face too.

“Oh god! Now I remember you had sustained bruises from scorpion beatings yesterday. How is it that you look like that never happened yesterday?!”

That was a question Landon still did not have the answer to which is the main reason he’s here but he owes no explanation to Xander and Tricia.

“It’s none of your business.” Landon did not have time for the both of them so he turned around to walk away.

“You stupid pauper don’t you dare walk away from me when I’m talking!” Xander yelled.

His voice had already caught the attention of almost everyone in the restaurant.

Landon stopped and looked back at Xander dead in the eye. “Huh? I will walk away from you of course. What are you going to do about it?”

“Who’s this poor guy challenging this rich dude?”

“He looks familiar.”

“That’s Landon Cradle Valley University pauper! Hahaha! He’s the guy in the video we saw today!”

“Oh really! He looks more pitiful in person! Look at his clothes!”

“I don’t know who the guy is but he should know his place. Why should he raise his voice at such a respected young man?”

“That’s the thing with poor people struck with poverty they have no manners.”

Everyone started chattering among the crowd as they looked at Landon as if he was an animal.

Landon was displeased at the moment. Why is everyone supporting Xander?! Can’t they all see Xander is the one trying to bully him?

“Hey, you stupid pauper! I can see you have finally grown the balls to talk back at me right?! Maybe you have forgotten that you are nothing but a pauper! I don’t know how you healed your wounds overnight but you asked what I’m going to do right now! Scorpion!”

“Yes, boss.” Xander's bodyguards answered as he took a step forward.

“Beat this wretched pauper up and toss him in the trash outside! It seems like he has forgotten his place!”

At this point, Landon’s eyes flashed with anger.

He would rather die than let Xander humiliate him again.

Unfortunately, his angered expression did not stop the burly bodyguard from walking closer to him.

The bodyguard walked toward him. Without hesitation, he pulled his arm back and launched his fist at Landon’s face.

Bang!

George pressed the buttons on the console, one after another, his fingers moving in frantic succession until a sharp click echoed through the checkpoint booth. The sound was unmistakable—the current flowing through the massive iron gate had been cut off, and the locks disengaged with a dull thud. For the first time since his ordeal began, freedom was within his grasp. He quickly stepped out of the checkpoint building, his movements brisk yet cautious, as though he feared someone might appear to snatch this slim chance away. Without hesitation, he rushed to the gate, placed his hands firmly against its cold metal, and heaved it open manually. The iron groaned under his effort, but it yielded, and as the gap widened, George slipped through with a surge of relief that coursed through every vein in his body.Stepping outside that cursed facility, George drew in a deep breath of the cool night air. He felt the weight of confinement leave his chest. Yet, his relief was short-lived. Just as

  • The Almighty Landon — Chapter 490

A couple of minutes earlier—right after George Anderson had stormed out of the room where Adam and Dexter were facing each other—he wandered aimlessly through the endless, suffocating hallways of the sprawling plant facility, muttering curses under his breath. He still remembered Adam’s sharp command to leave, as if Adam had any right to order him around.“Why is it so damn hard to leave this place?!” George snapped, his voice echoing against the metallic walls. His frustration wasn’t just about the labyrinth-like building; it was also a boiling resentment toward Adam. The memory of Adam’s command replayed in his head like an irritating itch he couldn’t scratch. Adam’s cold tone, his absolute certainty—George smacked his tongue loudly, his anger swelling.“That bastard!” George hissed. “Ordering me around like we’re equals. Who the fuck does he think he’s talking to?!” His fists clenched tightly, his nails biting into his palms as he fumed. For a brief moment, George entertained the t

  • The Almighty Landon — Chapter 489

He had just come to the bitter realization that what Adam said earlier was true—there was absolutely no way to escape the suffocating grip of the plant if Andrews hoped to keep concealing himself. Every possible strategy he had considered had collapsed into dust the moment Adam’s words sank in.If Andrews truly wanted to break free, then he would have to abandon the mission and escape without the other targets. Yet that option was never on the table for him. The mission was far too important. His responsibility to the others, to their cause, outweighed even his own survival. Adam knew this, and that was exactly why he stood there, calm and steady, while Andrews was trapped in despair. It was only a matter of time before Andrews met his death at Adam’s hands.Adam inhaled deeply, his chest rising as he steadied his breath, then sighed in a tone that carried both weariness and sharp determination. His eyes, glowing faintly with restrained fury, locked on Dexter.“Now,” Adam said, his vo

  • The Almighty Landon — Chapter 488

The way Adam held Dexter up by his neck—his toes barely brushing the dusty floor—made the mage look like a ragdoll dangling helplessly in the air. Dexter’s face was turning an unhealthy shade of red, and his breath came in short, desperate rasps as the pressure on his windpipe increased. His eyes bulged slightly, and beads of sweat formed on his forehead. He tried to squirm free, but Adam’s grip was like iron. The suffocating sensation was unbearable, yet Dexter’s ego refused to allow him to plead for mercy. He would rather choke than beg Adam for release. That same stubborn arrogance that had carried him this far pushed him to gamble on one last desperate move. Since Adam had brought their bodies so close, Dexter thought perhaps he could take advantage of the proximity to land a surprise strike.Summoning every ounce of willpower left in his fading body, Dexter reached into his pocket with his free hand. His fingers fumbled, but at last they found the handle of a small concealed knif

  • The Almighty Landon — Chapter 487

Adam groaned, his tone carrying both annoyance and fatigue. Things had become far more complicated than he had anticipated. What was supposed to be a straightforward takedown was spiraling into something much more difficult.Who would have imagined that Dexter, the arrogant mage, was capable of pulling off something so dangerous—changing the trajectory of his fireballs, turning them into guided projectiles that acted almost like homing missiles? It wasn’t something Adam had expected, and it was impressive in its own twisted way. Then again, Dexter wasn’t just any random mage. He was well-versed in spellcraft, someone with a frighteningly deep pool of knowledge and experience. More importantly, he was a recognized member of Saber Synth, the most powerful and feared magical organization in the entire world. With credentials like that, perhaps nothing Dexter did should ever be considered *too* surprising. And yet, even with that in mind, this new development bordered on the ridiculous.“

  • The Almighty Landon — Chapter 486

Angry and frustrated that his last barrage had failed to strike Adam, Dexter began to unleash fireballs one after the other in rapid succession. His target remained the same—Adam, who kept darting around the room with incredible speed, evading every single attack as though the fireballs were nothing more than playful sparks.Adam’s plan was simple yet highly effective. He wasn’t going to recklessly charge in. Instead, he chose to keep moving, carefully circling and closing in on Dexter while dodging the incoming fireballs. Once he was close enough, he intended to finish the battle swiftly.Dexter, however, wasn’t a fool. He knew exactly what Adam was planning. That was why he continued to fire one scorching purple flame after another, not necessarily to hit Adam directly, but to maintain distance and keep the martial artist from closing the gap.But there was a limit. Dexter was running out of ammunition. He understood the mechanics of his own spell better than anyone else, and he kne
