.

.

Blink.

Landon opened his eyes to see a familiar scenery.

He was back in his dorm room.

‘What happened?…’

It was then the memories of yesterday night flooded his mind.

This got him to sit up.

Slap.

Landon gave himself a slap on his cheek, trying to wake himself from the little slumber that was still left in his eyes.

‘What a dream?…’

{ “You will be the most capable man in the world but it would come at a price..” }

A memory of his conversation with the strange being flooded his mind.

Landon frowned. He knew he was forgetting a lot of things regarding his communication with this strange being but he clearly remembered one thing.

In a state of his injury, this being had promised him all the wealth in the world but he had to pay a price. He knew that he had a long conversation with this being but he could not remember anything.

{“You will be the most capable man in the world but it will come at a price”}

The only thing he could remember was that. Just a few words from this being… then there’s something else.

{ “I…I..accept your deal.” }

He had accepted the deal from this being. Landon did not blame himself for accepting in his dream. Who wouldn’t accept to pay almost any price to become rich?

{ “You come from one of the most powerful family in the world.” }

Then there’s the part that of the dream where this being told him he is from a very important family.

Landon was still trying to make out every memory about his conversation with this being in his dream but no matter how hard he tried to regain his memories was not coming to him but he knew deep down there was so many important things he was forgetting in his conversations with that being.

Seems like those Meganovel web novels I usually read are beginning to get to me.

‘I’m such a fool? How can I think that I’m from an important family that is rich? Maybe my desire to become rich is making me dream of nonsense and those Meganovel Web novels are definitely getting to me!’

There’s nothing about his world that has changed. He was still in his dorm room, wearing his pitiful clothes so his encounter with that strange figure was only just a dream…I can’t even remember this being having a face so it has to be a dream!

However, a realization struck Landon at this moment.

Something about him did change.

‘All my injuries are now…gone.’

He also vividly remembered Xander’s bodyguard beating him up. He was so beaten to the fact that he was weak with injuries and bruises all over his body. But now he felt as good as new!

There was not even one injury on his body!

‘…Was that betrayer with Tricia also a dream as well?’

This thought made Landon’s heart thump loudly in his chest. He knew how badly it felt to see Tricia cheating on him with Xander. It was very painful.

He wished that such a reality was an actual dream.

‘It has to be a dream. It has to be a dream..’

Landon quickly took his phone out of his pocket and dialed Tricia’s number.

Her phone rang for a full minute on the other end of the call but there was no answer.

‘Huh?’

Not demotivated by it Landon dialed Tricia’s number again fortunately this time she answered.

“Hello, babe?”

[ “Why are you calling me Babe Landon?! Why?! What don’t you understand?! I am over you! You can’t take care of my needs! I’m with Xander now! You saw it for yourself yesterday! You better continue on with your poverty-wretched life! If you call me again I’ll ask my boyfriend to put you behind bars!”

“Hahaha…is that pauper still disturbing you my love? I really should teach him a bigger lesson.” ]

Just before Landon could say anything, he was met with Tricia’s retorts of ridicule and mockery along with Xander’s voice in the background before the call got cut off.

Landon could not believe it.

‘…So it really was not a dream? So all that was real?’

Landon felt like crying. The memory of Xander’s c*ck in Tricia’s mouth was like a blade that cut deep into his chest. It hurts so bad that he would cry any moment soon.

‘No! I won’t waste even a drop of my tears for a thing like her.’

Landon knew he had given his all in his relationship with Tricia but she just cheated on him and she still had the guts to ridicule him like he was a piece of trash. All because he has no money. All because he is poor.

Why should he cry for a person like that? That would be a waste.

‘I will make them pay one day! I just wish I could make them pay!’

Just then his memory drifted back to his encounter with that being. The Crimson silhouette. Was that also reality as well and not a dream?

He remembered being beaten by Xander’s bodyguard to be thrown in an unknown alleyway before Crimson silhouette appeared. Was that just a figment of my imagination?

However, the puzzling thing is that if it’s a figment of his imagination why are all his injuries gone?

Slam!

Just then the door to his dorm room was opened, interrupting his reverie. It was his dorm mates,

“Landon! Have you gone on the school page?!” Jude asked

“Yeah! I just can’t understand. It’s you on the school page!”

“I can’t seem to understand, how can that guy in the video be you?”

Landon was really confused at this point. “What about me?”

Jude felt that it would be best to show Landon the video rather than trying to explain it so he handed Landon his phone.

Landon took the phone and on his school page was a post with a headline.

[ “HAHA. THIS HOW WE TAKE OUT THE TRASH WHERE I’M FROM!” ]

There was a video underneath the headline so Landon clicked on the video to play and his eyes shudder.

It was a video of him being thrown away by Landon’s bodyguard on the dirt in the Alley bin.

The video zoomed in to reveal his bloodied and swollen face in a miserable state. He looked extremely pitiful.

There was an extra write-up below the video so Landon read it.

[ Haha. This idiot caught me with his girl yesterday and he was whining about why his girl would leave him…Well, I showed him what a capable man can do in front of his girl. Lol.]

This was a post from Xander’s account with so many followers, making the video have a lot of views amounting to thousands.

Landon did not want to but his curiosity caused him to open the comment section.

[ “Lol. I can’t stop laughing. This needs to become an emoji. What better way to express throwing out the trash!”

“Wait did he really feel his girl won’t leave him? No beauty wants to suffer! Every lady wants to be pampered! If he’s placed against a handsome hunk like Xander, every girl will throw him to the trash a thousand times!”

“Lol. Well, his girlfriend did the most logical thing! Besides not taking the trash can lead to serious problems!”

“Well done Xander! You really know how to put these peasants in their place. I don’t know why Cape University provided such poor people with scholarships. Such a thing like a scholarship should not even exist to prevent these wretched poor fools from getting close to us!”

“I agree!” ]

Landon’s face became very ugly as he read the comment section. It was very evident that his mood had plummeted.

Everyone was raining all sorts of mockery on him because he was poor. Because he’s poor does that mean he doesn’t have the right to do what a human would do? Did they all have to publicly embarrass him like this?

Why did the school page even allow such a thing on their page?! Isn’t this video against the school rules?!

At this thought, Landon frowned.

The rules were only followed by the latter when it was the rich involved. If it’s the poor people like him, the school authorities will ignore it like it never happened.

Indeed the bitter truth of life is that one is nothing without money.

“Bro, is this true? Is it true that Tricia cheated on you with Xander?” Jude asked.

“Yes,” Landon answered with a dejected expression.

“I’m sorry bro.”

“It’s okay.”

“Wait did this thing in this video happen yesterday? Was it the reason you couldn’t attend the party yesterday?” One of his dorm mates asked with a curious expression.

“Yes.” Landon nodded.

However, this caused a confused expression to appear on his dorm mate’s face. “…Then how come you have no bruises or injuries right now?.. I mean in this video you have been beaten to a bad state. If this really happened yesterday then it should take a while before you would be looking totally this fine…”

This was indeed a good question.

That is exactly the same thing Landon was confused about. However, he, too, was still yet to figure out the answer to such a question.

‘Or…Was that situation with the crimson silhouette real yesterday?’

Ring! Ring! Ring!

Just when Landon was silent in thoughts his phone rang.

He picked up his phone to see that the caller was an unknown number.

He picked up the call with a serious look. “Hello?”

And then a fine English accent of a woman was what he heard on the other end of the call.

[ “Young Master…”]

  • The Almighty Landon — Chapter 483

George pressed the buttons on the console, one after another, his fingers moving in frantic succession until a sharp click echoed through the checkpoint booth. The sound was unmistakable—the current flowing through the massive iron gate had been cut off, and the locks disengaged with a dull thud. For the first time since his ordeal began, freedom was within his grasp. He quickly stepped out of the checkpoint building, his movements brisk yet cautious, as though he feared someone might appear to snatch this slim chance away. Without hesitation, he rushed to the gate, placed his hands firmly against its cold metal, and heaved it open manually. The iron groaned under his effort, but it yielded, and as the gap widened, George slipped through with a surge of relief that coursed through every vein in his body.Stepping outside that cursed facility, George drew in a deep breath of the cool night air. He felt the weight of confinement leave his chest. Yet, his relief was short-lived. Just as

  • The Almighty Landon — Chapter 490

A couple of minutes earlier—right after George Anderson had stormed out of the room where Adam and Dexter were facing each other—he wandered aimlessly through the endless, suffocating hallways of the sprawling plant facility, muttering curses under his breath. He still remembered Adam’s sharp command to leave, as if Adam had any right to order him around.“Why is it so damn hard to leave this place?!” George snapped, his voice echoing against the metallic walls. His frustration wasn’t just about the labyrinth-like building; it was also a boiling resentment toward Adam. The memory of Adam’s command replayed in his head like an irritating itch he couldn’t scratch. Adam’s cold tone, his absolute certainty—George smacked his tongue loudly, his anger swelling.“That bastard!” George hissed. “Ordering me around like we’re equals. Who the fuck does he think he’s talking to?!” His fists clenched tightly, his nails biting into his palms as he fumed. For a brief moment, George entertained the t

  • The Almighty Landon — Chapter 489

He had just come to the bitter realization that what Adam said earlier was true—there was absolutely no way to escape the suffocating grip of the plant if Andrews hoped to keep concealing himself. Every possible strategy he had considered had collapsed into dust the moment Adam’s words sank in.If Andrews truly wanted to break free, then he would have to abandon the mission and escape without the other targets. Yet that option was never on the table for him. The mission was far too important. His responsibility to the others, to their cause, outweighed even his own survival. Adam knew this, and that was exactly why he stood there, calm and steady, while Andrews was trapped in despair. It was only a matter of time before Andrews met his death at Adam’s hands.Adam inhaled deeply, his chest rising as he steadied his breath, then sighed in a tone that carried both weariness and sharp determination. His eyes, glowing faintly with restrained fury, locked on Dexter.“Now,” Adam said, his vo

  • The Almighty Landon — Chapter 488

The way Adam held Dexter up by his neck—his toes barely brushing the dusty floor—made the mage look like a ragdoll dangling helplessly in the air. Dexter’s face was turning an unhealthy shade of red, and his breath came in short, desperate rasps as the pressure on his windpipe increased. His eyes bulged slightly, and beads of sweat formed on his forehead. He tried to squirm free, but Adam’s grip was like iron. The suffocating sensation was unbearable, yet Dexter’s ego refused to allow him to plead for mercy. He would rather choke than beg Adam for release. That same stubborn arrogance that had carried him this far pushed him to gamble on one last desperate move. Since Adam had brought their bodies so close, Dexter thought perhaps he could take advantage of the proximity to land a surprise strike.Summoning every ounce of willpower left in his fading body, Dexter reached into his pocket with his free hand. His fingers fumbled, but at last they found the handle of a small concealed knif

  • The Almighty Landon — Chapter 487

Adam groaned, his tone carrying both annoyance and fatigue. Things had become far more complicated than he had anticipated. What was supposed to be a straightforward takedown was spiraling into something much more difficult.Who would have imagined that Dexter, the arrogant mage, was capable of pulling off something so dangerous—changing the trajectory of his fireballs, turning them into guided projectiles that acted almost like homing missiles? It wasn’t something Adam had expected, and it was impressive in its own twisted way. Then again, Dexter wasn’t just any random mage. He was well-versed in spellcraft, someone with a frighteningly deep pool of knowledge and experience. More importantly, he was a recognized member of Saber Synth, the most powerful and feared magical organization in the entire world. With credentials like that, perhaps nothing Dexter did should ever be considered *too* surprising. And yet, even with that in mind, this new development bordered on the ridiculous.“

  • The Almighty Landon — Chapter 486

Angry and frustrated that his last barrage had failed to strike Adam, Dexter began to unleash fireballs one after the other in rapid succession. His target remained the same—Adam, who kept darting around the room with incredible speed, evading every single attack as though the fireballs were nothing more than playful sparks.Adam’s plan was simple yet highly effective. He wasn’t going to recklessly charge in. Instead, he chose to keep moving, carefully circling and closing in on Dexter while dodging the incoming fireballs. Once he was close enough, he intended to finish the battle swiftly.Dexter, however, wasn’t a fool. He knew exactly what Adam was planning. That was why he continued to fire one scorching purple flame after another, not necessarily to hit Adam directly, but to maintain distance and keep the martial artist from closing the gap.But there was a limit. Dexter was running out of ammunition. He understood the mechanics of his own spell better than anyone else, and he kne
