“You are late,” A deep male voice said followed by a heavy slap to the cheeks of a young, red-eyed boy, the slap reverberated throughout the dark and poorly lit dump site.

“I'm sorry Senior, I won't ever do it again. ” Hiro the red-eyed boy said while groveling on the floor absolutely worshipping the light-skinned, fat senior.

“Sorry,? Sorry doesn't cut it, I don't pay you a plate of food a day to come late. ” The senior said before kicking Hiro once again in the stomach, shattering his ribcages.

Hiro groaned in pain as he spat out blood and his breathing became ragged, it sounded like it was a cry of pain.

“I promise to deliver all drugs early no matter what, ease don't kick me out senior. ” Hiro begged, why wouldn't he, how could a poor orphan not beg when he was about to lose his only source of income?

“Get away from me and never show your face at the water dragon tribe, ever again. ” Jason, an 18-year-old boy said before swiping his fingers, tossing Hiro away and into a dump like a piece of trash.

“Boys lets go. ” Jason said and he waved his hands signalling his minions to follow, they left Hiro there for dead, Hiro could smell the heavy stench of decaying animals and food all around him causing him to nearly vomit and forcing him to leave the dumpster.

Hiro struggled to his feet and sluggishly tried to walk home, there he was, weak, tired and smelling worse than a dead rat.

Hiro dragged his body to his tiny house and managed to open the doors, he took a shower to wash of the stench but he could do nothing to stop himself from vomiting blood, Hiro's breathing was getting worse and he had no idea it was due to his punctured lungs.

Hiro slowly made his way to the fairly sized living room with high-quality furniture and technology.

Hiro was around sixteen years of age, his dark black hair was messy and there were still some bone pieces that the shower could not wash, Hiro was six foot tall and had a scrawny or poorly fed appearance.

If only looks mattered in this terrible world filled with people whose minds had been overcome by power and corruption.

Years ago demons invaded Earth through portals, humans at first tried to reason with them and come to a peaceful negotiation on how to share the Earth but soon enough it was clear that the demons didn't come to Earth for anything good, they wreaked havoc on the human planet with their special abilities.

Some humans bowed down to the demons and worshipped them as gods and they received special powers from the demons too, the world weapons were all useless before demons who could warp space, freeze time, teleport, burn cities with a thought, etc.

The world was at its ending point when a discovery from Father Evander Justice Merion saved the human civilization was found’ and humans tapped into this energy and suddenly gained new abilities, abilities capable of fighting back against the demons.

But sold the abilities at a very high price, Hiro was an orphan, his parents had died without being able to buy him an ability, and abilities defined the standard of the world, the powerful ruled, and the weak were slaves.

Upon reaching Sixteen according to the laws of the country, an individual was required to join the Military academy situated in their countries, which was meant to teach a person how to hone his or her power and skill, on how to defeat the threatening demon race, unluckily for Hiro, he was among a rare group of people, 'The abilityless'.

As an orphan Hiro's parents had died during the first great war between the humans and the demos, all he had left of them were just stacks of empty books and, a relatively expensive-looking circle-shaped piece of metal that he had tried to sell countless times but all to no avail at least big enough to and an expensive house.

Hiro sat down on the couch of his house, trying to distract himself he turned on his television, A news channel had come on, he didn't really care about what the news was saying and only wanted to spend his dying breath on watching a movie but instead a news channel had come on.

"In recent news, a new age of warriors is about to start at the military academy, and for the ability less among them, the Catholic church has made it its mission to put an end to the bullying and discrimination, which has led to the Catholic Church Ability subsidy, which has drastically reduced the price of abilities. In other news, people are being urged to buy abilities as the lowest level has now been reduced to around $200,000." A beautiful reporter said on the TV.

Hiro switched off the news, and his mind immediately went to his parents, he could barely remember their faces or their voices, he looked towards a shelf in his house where he kept their last ever gift to him.

He curiously walked over to the shelf, he had never been able to find out what was so special about the gift and he decided to at least try today.

Hiro slowly removed a huge box from the top of the shelf, the box itself was made of pure gold and had intricate flowery patterns on it, Hiro couldn't exactly tell what was so special about the box but it looked to radiate a golden aura, at the top of the box was a red capital letter B and a golden M by the side.

The box itself was locked and unable to be opened by anyone except Hiro, he hadn't gone too deep into why that was and was only curious to discover what was so special about the object in the box.

Hiro opened the box to reveal a letter, "Dear Hiro, if you're reading this letter it means something definitely happened to us that made us unable to return home.

Hiro just know that we love you and as a way to say thank you for coming into our lives we present to you our last gift, you may not know what it is at first but someday he'll help you figure it out.

Your parents,

Derek and Amelia Bliss."

Hiro read the contents of the letter before tossing it aside.

The main component of the box was a large golden circle of around 2" tall and had eleven different glowing stones of different colors each stone pulsing with energy and the circle itself has a golden aura that felt holy.

He slowly picked up the circle and started trying to break it which all led to failure, the circle had an aura guarding it that even the most powerful weapons couldn't penetrate it, he had tried several times to break it or to sell it but all to no avail, each time he sold it, it would return back to him the next day and the customer would best him up and accuse him of stealing.

Hiro slowly began building up frustration and rapidly began punching at the circle, frustration turned into anger and Hiro began punching faster and the bones in his knuckles were beginning to break and his skin started to peel, anger turned into sadness and sadness became tears, the pain from his lungs, the stealing, the stench it was all too much.

The pain from his broken knuckle made him begin to shed tears, Hiro's tears slowly trickled down his cheek and dropped on the surface of the circle and at that point the circle slowly began to glow, but Hiro was too lost in his mind to notice.

"Stupid parents.... Couldn't you've at least gotten me even a level-one ability? " Hero screamed admits sobbing as droplets of tears streamed down his cheeks falling unto the circle.

As soon as more tears touched the circle a blinding flash of light enveloped the room and Hiro could feel the power radiating off of it and used his hands to shield his eyes to avoid damage from the light.

The light gradually reduced till the room was back to it's normal lighting, Hiro removed his hands from his eyes and looked around trying to find the circle but all to no avail it had disintegrated into dust particles.

Hiro breathed the and dust in, he immediately felt a sharp pain lurking around his back, like something alive was trying to force its way into his spine, He hit the same shelf, causing lot's of books to fall to the ground, Hiro picked up one of them only to see it had a number on it, he tried to open it, but the pain had gotten too much to bear, he dropped the book, falling to the ground.

[Congratulations you have been granted The Angel System.]

These were the last words Hiro saw before he passed out cleanly on the floor as all his senses were overwhelmed with great pain.
