The echoes of Hector slamming into the base of the magistrate’s box lingered over the Central Plaza like a physical weight. Dust settled over the shattered splinters of the crystalline halberd, leaving a long, scarred trail carved straight through the pristine white marble.

No one moved. The prospective academy candidates—heirs who had spent their entire lives surrounded by guards, wealth, and soft praise—backed away toward the gilded pillars, their faces pale as death.

High above the arena, Duke Valerius stepped to the edge of his balcony. His face was no longer just stern; it was twisted into a dark, murderous sneer. The blue silk of his magistrate robes fluttered violently as a dense, icy mana pressure erupted from his body, rolling down the terraced seating like a avalanche of frost.

"Insolent commoner," Duke Valerius spoke, his voice amplified by wind mana to roar through the entire amphitheater like thunder. "You dare shed noble blood on the sacred grounds of the Sky Citadel? You dare strike an heir of House Caelus in full view of the Council?"

Leo didn't flinch. The icy A-Rank pressure washed over his shoulders, but his 260 Endurance absorbed the atmospheric weight without his posture shifting a single millimeter. He casually turned his head toward the balcony, his eyes burning crimson beneath the shadow of his hood.

"He drew a weapon," Leo said, his tone flat and unbothered. "I broke it. If you want to complain about the quality of his steel, talk to his blacksmith."

"Silence!" the Duke roared, slamming his jeweled cane onto the balcony railing.

CRACK.

The stone beneath his cane fractured into a web of spider-webbing lines. "You entered these grounds under false pretenses. An F-Rank carrier with no mana engine cannot achieve forty-two minutes in the Iron Threshold, nor can he shatter A-Rank enchanted armor with physical force alone. You are an unregistered dark entity—a spy sent by the lower Abyss to infiltrate the Spire!"

He raised his right hand, pointing a gloved finger straight at Leo's chest.

"Enforcers of the Council! Seize him!" Duke Valerius commanded. "Execute him on the spot under Code 9 of the Citadel Charter!"

From the four high balconies surrounding the plaza, eight shadows blurred downward.

They landed on the marble floor with heavy, synchronized thuds, forming a tight ring around Leo. These were no pampered academy candidates or mid-tier guild guards; these were the High Council Enforcers—seasoned, peak B-Rank and lower A-Rank veterans clad in jet-black tactical armor, their faces obscured by blank silver masks. Each carried a curved, anti-mana executioner blade designed to sever mana circuits and drain physical strength instantly.

"Stand down, squatter," the lead Enforcer barked, his voice coming through a distortion filter. "Drop to your knees and interlock your fingers behind your head, or we will dissect you where you stand."

Leo slowly pulled his hands out of his coat pockets. The black Void Armor along his forearms reacted to his intent, extending sleek plates that wrapped snugly down to his wrists, the razor-sharp talons on his knuckles crackling with dark, void-infused electricity.

"Eight of you?" Leo muttered, his eyes scanning their positions in a fraction of a second. "That's convenient. I was worried I wouldn't get a proper warm-up before the academy opening."

"Leo, wait!" Victoria Vance’s voice cut through the air as she stepped out onto the marble floor from the western entrance. Her pale blue eyes locked onto Duke Valerius. "Magistrate Valerius, you are abusing your authority! The Iron Threshold results were verified by the gate's core array. He passed the trial legally under my sponsorship!"

"Your sponsorship is under review, Director Vance!" Valerius countered coldly, not even looking at her. "Enforcers, strike!"

The eight Enforcers moved simultaneously.

SWOOSH!

They vanished into high-speed blurs, approaching Leo from eight different vectors at once. Two swept low with heavy anti-mana blades aimed at his tendons, four targeted his vital organs from the flanks, and two dropped from above with overhead executioner strikes. The coordinated attack left zero blind spots, locked in a flawless killing web that had executed dozens of rogue hunters in the lower districts.

Leo didn't try to dodge. He didn't build a barrier.

He simply planted his boots into the marble, spread his arms wide, and allowed all eight curved anti-mana blades to strike his flesh at the exact same moment.

CLANG-CLANG-CLANG-CLANG!

A blinding shower of sparks erupted from his body. The high-tier executioner blades—weapons forged to cut through dragon hide and A-Rank Vanguard shields—struck Leo’s chest, arms, back, and neck, only to bring up a sickening, metallic screech. The silver-sheened dermal armor beneath his skin absorbed the full momentum of the strikes, flattening the edge of every single blade upon impact.

[CRITICAL DAMAGE SUSTAINED: Coordinated Multi-Point Penetrating Trauma.]

[Pain Converted!]

[Endurance +10]

[Kinetic Charge: 35%]

The six Enforcers on the ground felt the feedback shockwave vibrate violently up their forearms, numbing their wrists and nearly dislodging their swords from their grips. The blank silver masks turned toward each other in sheer, unadulterated shock.

"His physical density..." the lead Enforcer stammered, stepping back. "Our blades can't penetrate his top layer of dermal armor!"

Leo slowly lowered his arms, a cold, terrifying smile carving across his face as the System's icy counter-current flooded his core, converting the impact straight into raw, explosive power.

"My turn," Leo whispered.

He raised his right foot and slammed his boot down into the center of the marble floor, activating his new class skill: Pain Domain.

BOOOOOOM!

A thirty-foot ring of pitch-black, suffocating aura erupted from Leo's body. The air within the circle instantly turned frigid and heavy, carrying the invisible weight of forty minutes of 20x gravity and every blow Leo had absorbed since stepping onto the Citadel.

The eight Enforcers inside the domain immediately let out muffled screams of agony through their mask filters.

CRACK-CRACK-CRACK!

Without Leo touching a single one of them, their dark tactical armor began to fracture under the sudden, unseen pressure. The accumulated pain and kinetic charge of Leo's combat state slammed directly into their nervous systems, bypassing their physical armor and anti-mana wards entirely. The two Enforcers who had jumped from above crashed hard onto the floor, coughing up pool after pool of dark crimson as their ribs cracked under the invisible weight.

"What... what kind of magic is this?!" the lead Enforcer choked out, dropping to his knees, his hands clawing uselessly at his throat as his body experienced 50% of the raw, brutal trauma Leo had converted during his trials. "He isn't casting mana... It's... it's pure pressure!"

Leo stepped forward calmly through the dark aura, stopping in front of the kneeling lead Enforcer.

"It's not magic," Leo said, raising his C-Rank Void-Forged Gauntlet. The obsidian talons vibrated with a high-pitched, deafening whine. "It's interest on a debt."

He drove a single, straight punch into the lead Enforcer's chest plate.

[Release Void Burst!]

EXPLOSION!

The stored kinetic energy detonated full-force. A forty-foot shockwave of pitch-black void energy tore through the ring of Enforcers, blasting all eight veterans backward across the amphitheater. They smashed through the gilded marble pillars flanking the plaza, sending tons of masonry crashing down over their unconscious, broken forms.

The dark aura collapsed back into Leo's skin, leaving the Central Plaza in absolute, dead silence once more.

Dozens of candidates stood frozen in fear, staring at the single, dark-cloaked figure standing amidst the ruined pillars and shattered marble.

Leo slowly raised his head, looking straight up at Duke Valerius on the high balcony. He raised his right hand, pointing his black-armored gauntlet directly at the Magistrate's face.

"If the Council wants me executed," Leo said, his deep voice ringing out over the quiet plaza, "stop sending your servants. Come down here and do it yourself."

The silence hanging over the Grand Assembly Plaza was absolute, heavy enough to drown out the distant, frantic sirens wailing across the lower districts. The air smelled of burnt ozone, pulverized white marble, and the metallic tang of crushed void-crystals. High above, the shattered dome of the central terrace frame groaned under the structural displacement caused by Leo’s single step, sending small showers of white dust fluttering down like ash.Duke Valerius clung to the carved stone balustrade, his breath coming in ragged, shallow hitches. His grey eyes, usually calculating and cold, darted wildly across the courtyard. He looked at the paladins of the High Vanguard—men he had spent millions of gold coins arming with the finest dwarven steel and enchanted barrier shields. They stood frozen, their shields locked in a defensive tortoise wall, but their knees were visibly trembling beneath their heavy plate armor. They were not looking at Valerius for orders. The trembling of the Grand Assembly Plaza did not stop. It settled into a low, terrifying harmonic frequency that hummed through the soles of every noble, paladin, and magistrate present.Duke Valerius gripped the balcony railing, his knuckles turning chalk-white. "Insolence!" he barked, his voice straining to cover the pitch of panic rising in his chest. "You survive a suicide breach through pure, unvetted dark anomaly, and you return to threaten the High Council? Guards! Detain Class Zero immediately under the Citadel Sedition Act!"Not a single paladin moved. The heavy-armored vanguard line stood frozen, their shields locked, their eyes darting nervously between their captain and the bare-chested figure in the crater. They were veterans of the Upper Breaches, but the instinct ingrained deep in their bones shouted a single, universal warning: To step toward that man is to step into a grinding wheel."Sedition?" Leo muttered, taking another slow, heavy step forward.BOOM.The

The sky above the Sky Citadel was no longer clear. The colossal pillar of pitch-black void energy that had punched straight up through ten floors of the Abyss had torn a two-hundred-foot hole clean through the center of the Grand Assembly Plaza. Sunlight streamed through the smoking shaft, illuminating a swirling cloud of pulverized quartz, calcified dust, and purified mana mist that rained down over the floating island like silver snow.Emergency sirens blared across all four districts.Paladins of the High Vanguard lined the perimeter of the smoking crater, their heavy shields locked, their enchanted spears raised in terrified anticipation. High above on the central terrace, the members of the High Council stood in frantic clusters, their scrying slates flashing red with catastrophic energy readings."The breach core..." a Council Magistrate stammered, his hands shaking as he stared at his slate.
