Chapter 29: The Descent to Floor 7

The passage dropping out from Floor 6 was not a shaft, a staircase, or a fissure. It was a tear in the fabric of the Abyssal space itself—a ragged, dripping wound where the laws of physical mass gave way to raw, unadulterated void gravity.

Leo dropped into the rift without a second’s hesitation, his heavy boots cutting through the darkness like a pair of iron anchors.

Behind him, Bram and Chen plummeted through the tear, their bodies surrounded by the desperate, bright flare of their remaining defensive wards. Bram’s blue runes were dimming, turning a pale, cracked ice-blue under the relentless environmental strain, while Chen’s grey linen wrappings were ragged and scorched from the upper floors.

BOOM!

Leo landed with a catastrophic thud that shattered the surrounding stone platform into a crater of dark quartz and smoking soot.

ZZZZZZT-CRACK!

The moment his feet locked onto the stone floor, the 25x gravity slammed into his shoulders like a collapsing mountain. The air was so dense it felt like breathing liquid mercury, and the ambient void oxidation instantly ignited thin, violet concept flames across his bare arms and neck.

Leo slowly straightened his back inside the roaring sea of pressure and violet fire. His 375 Endurance absorbed the environmental assault, turning the suffocating atmosphere into a steady, rhythmic pulse of energy that hummed through his veins.

"The air..." Bram choked out as he crashed to his knees twenty paces behind Leo, his massive frame trembling violently under the 25x gravity. "It's... it's crushing my internal organs... I can barely hold my core together..."

Chen dropped into a low crouch beside Bram, her needles trembling in her bloodstained fingers. "This is the start of the Deep Abyss," she rasped, her dark eyes wide as she stared across the vast, pitch-black chamber. "No Pioneer team in the history of the Sky Citadel has ever stepped onto Floor 7 without an S-Rank vanguard team leading the vanguard."

A deep, reverberating pulse echoed through the floor—a sound like a massive iron heart beating deep beneath the earth.

THUMP. THUMP. THUMP.

From the far end of the cavernous vault, four towering pillars of dark obsidian began to glow with a sickly, crimson light. Suspended between the pillars by massive, humming chains of black void-metal was a creature that looked less like a monster and more like a sealed ancient god.

It stood twenty feet tall, clad in jagged armor forged from black star-metal. Its face was a smooth, featureless mask of dark crystal, and in its four massive hands, it held two giant executioner swords and two heavy war hammers that crackled with crimson void lightning.

[Target Identified: Warden of the Sunless Vault — Golgoth (Floor 7 Boss)]

[Threat Level: Mid S-Rank Conceptual Entity]

[Attribute: Absolute Physical Suppression / Void Thunder]

"Insolent mortals..." a hollow, multi-ton voice echoed from the crystal mask, shaking the very bedrock of the floor. "You enter the domain of the sealed..."

BOOOOOOM!

The four void-metal chains holding Golgoth snapped simultaneously under a sudden, blinding surge of crimson power.

Golgoth didn't glide or float—it leaped forward with the explosive speed of a fallen meteor, crossing two hundred yards of 25x gravity in a fraction of a second. It brought down both massive war hammers and both executioner swords at once, locking all four weapons into a single, terrifying executioner strike aimed directly at Leo’s head.

The combined force of the strike carried enough physical momentum and void lightning to level a mountain range.

"Leo, move!" Bram roared, trying to push himself off the floor. "You can't take four S-Rank weapons at once!"

Leo didn't move an inch.

He didn't draw his arms up to block. He planted his steel-toed boots into the dark quartz floor, looked up at the four descending mountains of crimson lightning and dark star-metal, and let out a cold, sharp laugh.

"Show me what an S-Rank hit feels like," Leo whispered.

EXPLOSION!

The impact was beyond catastrophic.

A hundred-foot pillar of blinding crimson lightning and black shockwaves erupted from the center of the vault, shattering the stone floor for hundreds of yards in every direction. The atmospheric pressure blew Chen and Bram backward across the cavern, smashing them against the far wall of the vault as the entire underground structure groaned under the threat of total collapse.

When the dust and roaring lightning finally cleared, Golgoth stood at the center of a massive, thirty-foot deep crater. Its four weapons were locked together at the point of impact.

And beneath them, standing chest-deep in the shattered quartz floor, was Leo.

His dark tactical coat had been completely blown away by the shockwave, leaving his bare, silver-sheened torso exposed. Blood trickled from his nose and the corners of his mouth—his internal organs had taken a direct, brutal shockwave—but his crimson eyes were burning with an unholy, blinding rage.

Leo slowly raised his head, staring straight up into the smooth crystal mask of the Mid S-Rank boss.

"That..." Leo rasped, wiping the blood from his chin with the back of his gauntleted hand, "...was almost enough to make me step back."

The icy, glacial counter-current within his core exploded. The 5,800 impact force was converted in an instant, flooding his bone density, muscle fibers, and skin with an unbelievable surge of raw, physical mass.

Leo raised both hands, grabbing the edges of Golgoth’s two massive war hammers with his bare, void-armored fingers.

CRACK-SHATTER!

His grip tightened, and the star-metal heads of the S-Rank war hammers crushed like dry clay in his palm.

Golgoth let out a mechanical, distorted screech of error as its internal mana flow stalled under the sheer, impossible force of Leo’s physical grip.

"My turn," Leo said.

He pulled his right fist back, loading it with 100% overloaded kinetic charge, combined with his newly upgraded 310 Strength.

[Class Skill Triggered: Void Burst + Impact Resonance + Pain Domain!]

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

Leo driven his fist straight through the center of Golgoth’s black star-metal chest plate.

The punch didn't just pierce the boss—it detonated with the force of a localized nuclear warhead. A three-hundred-foot shockwave of pure, pitch-black void energy erupted from his knuckles, tearing straight through Golgoth’s twenty-foot frame, obliterating its internal core, and blowing its massive upper torso into millions of microscopic metal shards that rained down over the entire crater.

The shockwave blasted through the back wall of the vault, carving a massive, cavernous tunnel clean through the mountain behind them.

Silence descended over the shattered vault.

Leo stood alone in the center of the smoking crater, his bare chest glistening with silver light as the black Void Armor retracted smoothly into his forearms. He reached down into the smoking remains of the boss's chest, pulled out a glowing, crimson S-Rank Core the size of a dragon's heart, and crushed it instantly in his hand, absorbing its power into his core.

He turned around, looking back at Chen and Bram, who were leaning weakly against the ruined wall of the cavern, staring at him in utter, terrified awe.

"Floor 7 cleared," Leo said, his voice echoing through the quiet vault like a tolling bell. "Take five minutes. We're clearing Floor 8 before lunch."

The silence hanging over the Grand Assembly Plaza was absolute, heavy enough to drown out the distant, frantic sirens wailing across the lower districts. The air smelled of burnt ozone, pulverized white marble, and the metallic tang of crushed void-crystals. High above, the shattered dome of the central terrace frame groaned under the structural displacement caused by Leo’s single step, sending small showers of white dust fluttering down like ash.Duke Valerius clung to the carved stone balustrade, his breath coming in ragged, shallow hitches. His grey eyes, usually calculating and cold, darted wildly across the courtyard. He looked at the paladins of the High Vanguard—men he had spent millions of gold coins arming with the finest dwarven steel and enchanted barrier shields. They stood frozen, their shields locked in a defensive tortoise wall, but their knees were visibly trembling beneath their heavy plate armor. They were not looking at Valerius for orders. It settled into a low, terrifying harmonic frequency that hummed through the soles of every noble, paladin, and magistrate present.Duke Valerius gripped the balcony railing, his knuckles turning chalk-white. "Insolence!" he barked, his voice straining to cover the pitch of panic rising in his chest. "You survive a suicide breach through pure, unvetted dark anomaly, and you return to threaten the High Council? Guards! Detain Class Zero immediately under the Citadel Sedition Act!"Not a single paladin moved. The heavy-armored vanguard line stood frozen, their shields locked, their eyes darting nervously between their captain and the bare-chested figure in the crater. They were veterans of the Upper Breaches, but the instinct ingrained deep in their bones shouted a single, universal warning: To step toward that man is to step into a grinding wheel."Sedition?" Leo muttered, taking another slow, heavy step forward.BOOM.The

Sunlight streamed through the smoking shaft, illuminating a swirling cloud of pulverized quartz, calcified dust, and purified mana mist that rained down over the floating island like silver snow.Emergency sirens blared across all four districts.Paladins of the High Vanguard lined the perimeter of the smoking crater, their heavy shields locked, their enchanted spears raised in terrified anticipation. High above on the central terrace, the members of the High Council stood in frantic clusters, their scrying slates flashing red with catastrophic energy readings."The breach core..." a Council Magistrate stammered, his hands shaking as he stared at his slate.
