13: Into The Forest Heart (IV)

Barry's heart was pounding wildly in his chest, nearly drowning him with the deafening sound.

His body seemed to freeze, a mixture of fear and uncertainty gripped him, preventing him from moving. Every muscle seemed to stubbornly refuse any command his brain sent it. The feeling of cowardice that enveloped him was overwhelming, an inner voice told him that it was better to run away, escape from that situation that seemed impossible to win.

His heart, uncontrolled, hammered in his chest, as if he wanted to escape the approaching danger. Barry felt his mouth go dry and his stomach churn.

An internal struggle raged inside him, a battle between fear and the will to make a difference. He was afraid to return to combat, wanting to remove his allies from the battlefield. But his body refused to move.
