12: Into The Forest Heart (III)

Although a silence had settled in the clearing, tension still hung in the air.

Leonard watched the fallen creature with a serious expression, his eyes fixed on the crystals that still emanated a faint light of energy. He could feel the confusion and worry building in her eyes as the creature's nature defied his understanding.

Beside him, Alice was deep in thought, her eyes watching the creature's slow regeneration. She knew something unusual was going on here, something they couldn't ignore.

Barry, on the other hand, was getting and coming in the encounter of the other two, with a tired and frustrated expression on his face. He had broken out of the creature's prison, as his strength had stopped for a while. Things hadn't gone as expected, and for that reason, he wanted to use that moment to gather as much information as possible.

Leonard finally broke the silence, his words charged with confusion. "What the hell is this thing? I've never faced anything like this before."
