There Are Other Victims

At work Maria

Azka and Azara meet their superiors directly and try to interrogate Maria's activities before being declared missing.

"I'm Azka, and this is my partner Azara."

Azka introduced herself while showing her ID card.

"Please have a seat," said Fahri, still confused by the arrival of these two policemen to his office.

"Sorry, what do you need?"  he asked again.

"I want to know about Maria. She's your employee, isn't she?"  said Azka.

Azara was ready with her book and writing utensil to record all the information he was about to hear from the middle-aged man.

"That Maria who went missing a few months ago?"  Fahri asked frowning to try to convince again.

"Yes, sir," said Azka very confidently.

Fahri rolled his eyes up.  He tried to remember about Maria's figure.

"Maria, she is a strange employee in my opinion. She is very quiet and rarely communicates with other employees. I think that's all I know about her."

"Does Maria have any enemies at work?"

"I don't think so. She is a very friendly person with everyone. She's also nice, but yeah... She's very secretive about her personal life."

"Okay then sir. I'm sorry, and thank you for your cooperation today," said Azka, immediately getting up from his seat and shaking hands with Fahri before leaving the room.

'You are a troublesome employee,' Fahri muttered in his heart.

Azara, who has the ability to hear the voices of other people's hearts, knows what Fahri just said.

"Excuse me sir," said Azara following Azka's steps out of the room.

In the car Azka looked confused as she reread the notes that had been written by Azara.

Azka massaged his forehead, 'What else can I do to find a bright spot in this case.'

Azara glanced at Azka, she could tell what Azka was currently thinking.

"How about we go to Maria's house?"

 "Why did we come there?"

"I'm sure we can find something there. We can check into his room."

"Okay I agree," said Azka agreeing to Azara's suggestion.

Azka started his car and immediately drove his car to Maria's house.

Arriving at Maria's house, Azka and Azara asked Maria's parents for permission to enter Maria's room.

"We from the detective team want to help mother to find Maria's whereabouts at this time. But we need to find something that can help our search. Can we go into Maria's room?"

"Please, we haven't been in that room since Maria disappeared," said Mr. Maria in a voice that wasn't clear because he was old.

Maria's parents escorted Azka and Azara to Maria's room and then left them to check all Maria's belongings in the room.

They started looking through all of Maria's belongings.  Azka checked into the wardrobe while Azara focused on Maria's desk where there was a diary written by Maria every day.

Azara opened the book and read every stanza Maria wrote in the diary.

In one of his writings there is something that makes Azara feel concerned about Maria's figure.

'God... I'm tired of living my life as a lowly subordinate.  Can I be rich?  Every day all I do is work and work to support my parents and pay for their treatment.  But why is everyone insulting me?  Thinking of me as a spinster because I still couldn't find a partner until I was almost 35 years old.  Is there still a man who wants to marry this ugly and disheveled me?'

Azara had tears in her eyes when she read the writing.  She was saddened to know that Maria's life was full of insults and insults.  Azara couldn't wait to find Maria's whereabouts.

In a very closed restaurant,

Hartawan held a meeting with Handoko and Prosecutor Ilham.

"How are you guys?"  asked Hartawan with a faint smile that carved his thick lips.

"Very good, sir," said Handoko as he poured the drink into his glass.

"I'm fine too, sir. What did you call us here for?"  asked Prosecutor Ilham in such a polite voice.

"Drink first," Hartawan said, offering them a toast.

They started having a very serious conversation.

"Has there been any progress on this case?"  asked Hartawan in a very cold tone of voice

"It seems they will not give up before the culprit is caught," said Handoko, looking down in fear.

"So what should the two of us do now Master?"  asked the Prosecutor Ilham was also afraid to look Hartawan's eyes wide.

"Hehe, why are you asking me?"  Hartawan's laughter made the two men lower their heads in fear.

Then they try to get up the courage to express their opinion.

"How about we just come up with the culprits to trick them, Sir?" said Handoko giving advice.

Hartawan immediately pounded his desk with his eyes wide open.

 'Braakk'

"You idiot! It's useless to give you the most perfect position right now, if that's all you have in mind."

The two men could only look down at Hartawan's shouts.

The treasurers are the people behind the positions they are currently holding.

Like it or not, Prosecutors Ilham and Handoko must obey all orders from Hartawan.

"Your job is to monitor, report and follow what I ordered," continued Hartawan as he got up from his seat and immediately left them.

"If you can't think straight, you better shut up! You trash brain!"  said Prosecutor Ilham glaring at Handoko after Hartawan left in front of them.

"You better shut up. Don't get involved in my troubles. You fake prosecutor!"  Handoko said to Prosecutor Ilham.

Suddenly there was a man who screamed for help when he saw the figure of a corpse already floating in the river.

Several residents immediately came to check the corpse.  They also immediately contacted the police to come to the place.

The detective team immediately came to the crime scene after hearing this news.  However, the body has been wrapped and will be taken by forensics.

"May I take a look at it for a moment? I just want to make sure this body has nothing to do with the case my team is currently investigating," Ali told the forensic team.

"All right, please. But not for long!"

Ali opened the wrapper of the corpse and he was very surprised when he saw the toes of the corpse had disappeared.  Ali quickly re-wrapped the corpse.

"Thank you, you can take it."

What happened to the corpse was exactly the same as what happened to Candra, Azara's father.

Candra was killed with several stabs to the stomach, as well as a missing toe.
