Tears refused to leave his eyes as he raced in the dark away from the face of danger which haunt him.
Everyone was after him, including those he thought were for him. He had managed to escape from the cops and was running away from thugs sent by Adrian's parents to kill him.
It took a week for the public to realize who the culprit was and all accusing fingers were pointing to Alex! Who would have believed the quiet soul would turn out to be a murder?
The news spread like wildfire and the cops didn't hesitate to come over to his place to get him arrest for those committed crimes.
Unknown witnesses were created to have his image tarnished, these witnesses testified against him that he was a little assassin who assaulted people to get paid at such a young age.
It got him more downcasted, that even Natalie testified against him; her statement was that he tried to rape her before Adrian came over to safe her from his clutches and had no idea of what went wrong as she had to run for her life. Perhaps Eric must have seen him wrestling or killing Adrian and fell into his trap, hence it lead to the two best friends death.
More shocking was the fact that his classmates testified against him that it felt like though the whole world was against him. They complained about his werid behavior as he always wished everyone death.
Jason added more icing to the peak by saying he found death note and different names written in it and the way they should be killed.
Everything seemed lik a dream to his as he wished to wake up but this was reality, how the world hate one person?
"Quiet ones are the demons!" Some commented.
"I never liked him one bit" others added.
"He's a rapist and murder" few spoke.
His life was miserable as the fact that he didn't speak on time worsen the situation but could anyone just listen his own side of his story.
Another perplexing fact was that his mother made a statement to the cops that he often says cruel words like wishing someone to die which got her bothered most times. Was she truly his mother? He never expected that from her, neither Natalie who was the cause of everything that happened. She just wanted to clear her name from the black book and blame it all on the half dead Alex who was struggling to survive the horror that befalled him.
He had no time to explain to his parents who were disappointed and willing to turn him in for the cops! The last words he said to his mother was;
"Do you ever believe me? I hate you!"
The person who helped him escape was valery, his stepsister who believed in him that he could never do such a thing and that all those testifying were just framing him.
Indeed, they were bribed or threatened to testify against him by the victims parents who painted their deceased sons as angels while Alex was the demon who took the bad names which would be quite difficult to erase.
The parents of the deceased would stop at nothing to see Alex murdered in cold blood as they were powerful in the city and seeked vengeance for their children. Mostly the fact that Adrian was his parent's only child while Eric was his parent's only son.
"Stay safe" those were her last words. She knew no matter what he said, those evil parents of the victims would want to have him killed and it was like though they had the laws in her hands.
He never expected this sister of his to assist and it gave him hope to stay alive because someone wished for his wellbeing. This boy had thought she was the most mean in the house but she had a heart of gold for the only person in the world to believe him, she didn't even want to hear his side of story as she tell and testify anywhere of his Innocence.
Valery had taken him to the secret passage outside their house, he had no idea of that as he haven't have time to explore this new home of his. He could see a tunnel and she instructed him to follow it while she tries distracting the cops from finding him.
Alex had no idea of where he was racing to but he knew he needed to stay safe as beckoned by valery. How could he be safe when he was declared wanted by all. The tunnel was more like another journey to see the end and surprisingly, it led him to the outskirt of town.
Who would have built just a secret path in this modern age that would lead this far away, that was question to be answered another day if he ever returns.
He had raced for hours and was really exhausted, he decided to take a rest when the sound of gunshot made him quack as his weary legs pulled his body hastily in the dark avoiding being shot. He pondered on how he was located by goons because he could clearly tell they weren't the cops! Unfortunately, he there was no other route except the sea neither could he turned back because he would be dead. He sinked his breathe and dived into the ocean without giving a second thought of the danger he was running into. The terror of being caught and shoot made him panick that drowning was the best option that crosses his mind.
Questions unanswered begged to be answered as everyone has to be left wondering what truly happen that night and why did everyone including his family turn again him without considerations?
The men who chased after him gave up trying as they could tell that the latter was dead probably. Their leader had to call who hire them that he was dead. They returned back with proud looks that their mission over here had been fulfilled.
