CHAPTER FIVE

Ophelia walked around Gideon’s room panicking after receiving the news about her father going bankrupt.

“You need to relax babe. Everything will be fine.” Gideon assured her and walked over to her side, placing his hand on her shoulder.

“Everything cannot be alright. My father going bankrupt means that we are going to live in the slums” 

“No,” He said, holding her shoulder and staring deep into her eyes. “You are not going to be living in the slum.” He paused for a moment as an idea came to his mind.

“Tell you what, I think we could find an investor to finance your father’s company and get it back to the way it used to be” He suggested.

“But how are we going to make that possible?” Ophelia asked.

“Well, my father is out of the country at the moment. I will tell his personal assistant to find an investor” He assured.

Ophelia embraced him in a warm hug and they remained in that position for a long period of time. They broke away from the hug as Ophelia’s phone vibrated in her pocket.

“Ophelia!” Her father called excitedly. “We found an investor. He is willing to buy off all the stocks in the company” 

Ophelia’s eyes sparked up with hope. She turned to Gideon, who had also heard what her father said.

“He is proposing a fifty fifty share for the company for a period of five years and promise to leave once the company can boldly stand to its feet.”

“Then get him to sign the contract father!” Ophelia suggested.

“That is why I am calling you….” Her father revealed. “As my heir to the company, I need you to be present when these documents are being signed.” He said.

“What time are we going to the company and signing these documents?” Ophelia asked.

“It is not a company actually. The investor has suggested we come to the Mr. Annon’s birthday party this evening” His father explained.

“That is going to be great. I cannot wait” Ophelia revealed excitedly.

When her father cut the call, she turned her attention to Gideon who is going through his diary..

“You are coming for Mr. Annon’s birthday right?” She asked.

“That is why I am skimming through this diary. I have to cancel a lot of date for the event.” He said and after a brief pause, he closed the book and threw it to the bed.

“Very well then, it is settled. We are going for the birthday” He announced with a smile hung up on his face.

Kaidon took his time to observe the building as he arrived at the event hall. He arrived by a limousine and even though a lot of people did not know him, there was still a whole lot of camera flash on his face.

“Welcome sir” A young woman greeted politely as he arrived at the entrance. “Can we please see your ticket?” She asked.

“I don’t have a ticket. I just came for the party and no one informed me of any ticket” Kaidon revealed.

“Well, I am sorry sir we cannot allow walk inside. You can join the rest of the crowd at the down floor” She said.

“Can I get the ticket?” He asked.

“I am sorry sir, we don’t sell tickets at the entrance of a hall” She replied once again.

Kaidon stepped back to re evaluate his plans. He had thought it will be quite easy getting a ticket but it appeared not.

His attention latched onto a man that got a ticket secretly and walked inside. That action gave Kaidon a bright idea and he approached the young lady again.

“How much is the ticket?” He asked 

“Three million dollars sir” She replied.

Kaidon looked around and realized the cameras were on someone else. He moved close to the young lady.

“I will pay you double the price and you can use it for a tip…” He whispered, pulling out his credit card.

He noticed a fickle doubt from the woman’s eye at the mention of the money. She tilted her head to the side and made the same movement to the other side before turning her attention back to Kaidon again.

“Credit card please” She whispered and Kaidon secretly handed over the card to her. 

She swiped the card from the machine and handed it over to Kaidon with a ticket in his hand.

“Have a great day sir” She said, returning back to her professional voice.

When Kaidon stepped into the hall, he is blown away by the number of infamous persons that had arrived at the party, many of them hanging out with each other.

Kaidon made a turn around and stumbles into someone, causing them to spill their drink on their cloth.

“What the hell?”

“Wait, Kaidon?”

Kaidon is surprised seeing Ophelia and Gideon together. 

He had spilled the drink on Gideon and he looked back up at him really pissed. “You have ruined my shirt you idiot”

“I will advise you to mind your tongue” Kaidon warned and they all looked up at him surprised.

“I am sure you sneaked into this party. I am going to call the security for you” Ophelia says and grabbed Gideon’s hand before moving away.

Kaidon knew it was not good to cause a scene because he had planned on punching Gideon in the face for all that was done to him.

His phone begins to ring and it turns out to be Mr. Williams.

“We are waiting for you at the Vip seession” Mr. Williams announced.

Kaidon smiled, he could not wait to show surprise Ophelia when he buys the stock of her father’s company.

As he walked towards the VIP room, a group of security men walked over to him and encircled him.

“Can we see your ticket sir?”

He pulled out his ticket and handed it over to the soldiers.

As they examine it, he found Ophelia watching them with a victorious smile on her face and Kai shook his head in disappointment.

If only she knew he was not the same person from the time past.

“All cleared” They announced and returned his card back to him.

As Kaidon walked away, he turned around to see Ophelia arguing with the security and he simply chuckled.

This is just the beginning of what is to come.
