The Consortium Reborn

"You are fired from this job. You are never to be seen again around this premises" Kaidon stared at the letter with a heavy heart. This should have been the moment of change in his life. 

He could not believe that just when things appeared to be turning around for good for him, he will encounter a serious set back.

"Can I please explain my own side of the story?" Kaidon asked staring at Me Felix his middle aged looking boss.

"And you think I am going to take your explanation seriously?" He asked and shook his head in disappointment. "You have only three seconds to get out of this place or I will call the security official on you" He warned.

Alarmed, Kaidon grabbed his bag and the letter and walked out of the room. 

Kaidon walked by several of the staffs with a heavy heart. He had sacrificed a lot to be here at the office today.

Even ditching his school in the process.

Kaidon thought about returning back to school and hopefully resume classes. He knew the teachers are not going to be friendly to him for coming late to class, but Kaidon did not care.

As he slowly approached the gates of the school, Kaidon begins to panic. This would be the first time he is ever going late to school.

He was already a public ridicule of some of the students and knew they are going to mock him.

When he walked into the school premises, Kaidon learnt that the students were on recess and he take a deep breath, happy that he was not going to face the teacher's scrutiny.

"Kai!" 

He turned around and Elvis his class mate approached him. Elvis was a nerd who talked to Kaidon on a regular basis, but Kaidon never considered their relationship as friends.

"Where have you been?" Elvis pulled off his glasses. "Ophelia's birthday is today and I was wondering why you are not by her side.."

Kaidon froze for a moment.

How did he forgot about Ophelia's birthday. They had been together for two years now and he has never missed out on her birthday.

"Wait....did you forget?" Elvis asked.

"Where is she?" Kaidon asked as more students were walking out of the hall.

"Probably the cafeteria...." He said pointing to the direction of the cafeteria.

Kaidon walked away, his mind juggling with several excuse that he hope to convince Ophelia.

By time he arrived at the cafeteria Kaidon stopped in his track, his eyes widening in shock.

Standing before him is Ophelia in the arms of Gideon, one of the richest students in the school.

"Ophelia?" He called, approaching the both of them.

"Yes, who are you?" Ophelia asked with a scowl.

Kaidon is startled by the tone of her voice. "Are you really serious right now?" He asked seeing her snuggle closer to Gideon's chest.

"Listen boy, you are disturbing our moment together" Gideon revealed, staring down at Kaidon with a smirk on his face.

"You are with my girl... Gideon" he replied, trying to maintain his composure

“Your girl?” Gideon asked staring down at Kaidon like he was a moron. “Ophelia belongs to me and one thing I don’t do is share my girl with anyone”

Kaidon turns to Ophelia and the look on her face proved everything that he needs to know; it was over between the both of them.

“But why did you do this to me? Why did you did this to us?” He asked, trying to remain calm even though he was emotional.

“You are never meant for me Kaidon. You are broke, poor and cannot even afford for yourself” Ophelia voice drew the attention of the rest of the student who were now watching the scene unfold before them.

“I will rather be in the hands of a man that loves and cherish me” She said, running her hand over Gideon’s head.

Gideon removed her hand and approached Kaidon, still with the evil smirk on his face. 

“Someone needs to teach you a humbling lesson, don’t you think?” 

Kaidon felt strong arms grabbed him from behind and before he could react, he felt a hot sting to his cheek, causing him to fall to the ground.

He tried covering his face as he begins to receive a proper beat down from Gideon’s friend. 

Everyone keeps cheering on as Kaidon covers his face up away from a blow to his face. In that moment he realized his life could be over.

“That is enough!” 

Gideon ordered and they all paved way for him as he approached Kaidon laying on the ground and groaning in pain.

“The next time I see you close to my girl again, I am going to make sure that you end up in the hospital” 

As he stared down at Kaidon, all he felt was anger. The anger from loosing his job, the anger from Ophelia’s betrayal.

He cleared his throat and spits on Gideon’s face causing an audible gasp from the people around.

Gideon wiped off the stench of his eyes and he chuckled. “Maybe I will consider sending you to that hospital right now” He said and turned his attention to the boys.

Kaidon covers his face as they continue to inflict more pain over his body. His eyes somehow landed on Ophelia staring at him.

He noticed no sign of emotion on her face and again Kaidon felt shattered. The one woman he thought would love him had all being a lie.

“No, Wait!” 

Some one yelled but before Kaidon could get hold of himself, a large wooden object landed on his head, causing him to loose his vision immediately.

The annoying sound of a beep woke Kaidon up and he realized that he was in the hospital. He tried getting up to his feet and struggling with the bed, his head begins to ache and he muttered curses.

Kaidon tried recalling everything that has happened to him, but his brain was blank and it left him absolutely frustrated.

“Where am I?” He asked looking around the room.

“You are in the hospital Kai. You should thank everything that I rescued you” 

Kaidon looked around the room and realized there is no one speaking.

“Don’t worry Kaidon, I am in your consciousness” 

Kaidon froze the moment the voice spoke again.

“Who are you?”
