The Consortium Reborn

CHAPTER TWO

“I am Jack your personal assistant” The voice revealed.

“What do you mean by personal assistant?” Kaidon asked in confusion.

“When you passed out, your DNA allows me access into your subconscious mind and seeing that you were not going to make it, I had to bring myself back in to help you” The voice explained.

“I still don’t get everything you are talking about” Kaidon admitted in confusion.

“I am created as a super consortium program for exhibited lessons, but my creator abandoned me and tagged me a failed project. Unknown to him that all that I need was a body to function and that is how I found you” 

Kaidon take his time processing everything he had said.

“So how did I get to this hospital?” Kaidon asked once more.

“I activated the emergency system of a nearby hospital and they answered” The voice replied briefly and there is silence between the both of them.

“I understand that this is really tough to take in, but I want you to know that being your personal assistant, I get to do many things for you” It explained.

“Things like what?” Kaidon asked but in that moment the doctor entered the room.

“Ah…Glad to see you are awake” The middle aged doctor commented, walking over to Kaidon and examining his body for a moment. “How are you feeling now?” He asked with genuine concern on his face.

“I still do not know how I got here in the first place” Kaidon admitted.

“We received a call from your school and brought you here. It seems you were involve in a fight”

In that moment, memories about everything that has happened to begins to flood into Kaidon’s mind.

The fight with Gideon, Ophelia betrayal and how he was removed from his work place.

“Are you alright?” Kaidon is pulled away from his thoughts by the doctor’s question. 

“Yes, I will be fine” Kaidon replied.

“You don’t have to worry about the bills. It has already been settled” 

Kaidon raised his head towards the doctor in shock. “It was settled by who?” He asked.

“We don’t have a clue. However we received payment for your treatment and got a call later to confirm the payment” The doctor explained.

“Who made the call?” Kaidon asked.

“We have no idea sir” The doctor replied.

Kaidon reverts to his thoughts thinking through what the doctor had said.

“Anyways, we will be discharging you in the next couple of hours” The doctor assured before walking away.

“I paid for the transaction and called the hospital” The voice confirmed the moment the door closes.

“Wait..how did you do that?” Kaidon asked, surprised by the revelation.

“I am your system program. I know how to access money whenever I want” The voice replied.

“This seems really strange. I must be hallucinating” Kaidon said.

“No, you are not hallucinating. The super consortium program is real and I am living inside of you” The voice revealed.

“As a matter of fact, I have a task for you” It said, catching Kaidon’s attention.

“What task are you talking about?” 

“There is a man named Smith by the east coast side of the city. He owns a giant conglomerate and will be easy to find. You have to go and meet him, he has a document for you” The voice explained.

“This is some crap” Kaidon dismissed. “How do I visit someone I don’t know? If this is some hallucination then I am going back to sleep” 

Kaidon laid back on the bed and before his eyes would fade away, he thought about the voice again and conclude that he must have taken several concussion to the head.

Later that evening, Kaidon is discharged from the hospital and when he arrived at his small apartment, he finds his bags laid outside the place.

Kaidon rushed inside the house to find the door has been locked. He looked down to see a piece of paper and picked it up.

‘Closed and reserved for use’

The letter wrote and Kaidon realized the homelander group had evacuated him out of his house. He reached out to his phone and called their number.

“Homelander agency, how may we help you?” A feminine voice came through.

“I came back home to find my things outside the house. I need an explanation for that madness” He said and there is a lot of scribbling at the background before the voice will finally reply.

“You must be Kaidon, the young man going to Preston college.” The voice enquired.

“Indeed”

“I am sorry but we are working under the direction of the command of our boss. He has asked that the apartment be closed down and no one allowed access inside anymore.” The feminine voice explained.

“What did I do? Who is your boss?” Kaidon asked. He could not believe what he was hearing from the woman.

“Our boss Mr. Richard owns the conglomerate across the eastern coast of the city. He says that he wants to establish a brand in the west coast and that is why your house is a perfect fit for his brand to flourish.” 

“This is not fair!” Kaidon voiced out but the woman hung up.

He almost smashed his phone to the floor out of frustration. Kaidon could not believe everything going on in his life.

From loosing his job to loosing his girlfriend and also getting beat up by Gideon and now he doesn’t have a place to stay.

“I told you to move over to the east coast and meet with him but you refused” The voice came through .

“Wait a minute….I am not hallucinating, this is real” Kaidon said in disbelief.

“Whenever you fail a task, you get punished for it. You failed to meet with the man and now you lost your house” 

“How do I get my property back?” He asked.

“Then you have to meet up with Richard, he is the only one that can help you right now” The voice replied.

Kaidon looked around the quiet neighborhood. As he begins to walk away, a certain realization struck him and he wondered if this meant that things were about to change for him.
