Chapter 2: Friends from the Past.
Standing before him was a lean woman with average sized assets dressed in a formal P.A. suit with short brunette hair. Her eyes, hidden behind her glasses, glinted with disdain and anger. She was Mira, his ex-fiancée's personal assistant, someone Antonio once dismissed as insignificant. "Well, if it isn’t Mira," Antonio drawled, intertwining his fingers with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. "Come to gloat, have we? Or perhaps you’ve brought me another gift from your traitorous master?" Mira’s irritation was evident as she squared her shoulders. "Do you really have no shame, Antonio?. You've fallen so far, so fast yet—" "Save it, Mira," Antonio interrupted, his tone turning cold as ice. "Spare me the lecture. We both know you didn’t crawl out of whatever hole you’ve been hiding in just to deliver an insult. So, what’s the real reason you’re here?" The playfulness in his voice vanished, replaced by a chilling calmness. His once warm sapphire eyes were now hard and unyielding as he stared down the woman before him. Mira clicked her tongue in annoyance. "Still as insufferable as ever, I see. I can't believe the young miss still hasn't forgotten you. She must be blind to think you’re worth anything anymore." Antonio's eyes twitched at her words, though his smile remained. "Funny, coming from someone who couldn’t stand in my shadow back then. Now, here you are, desperate to feel superior for once." His eyes narrowed, his smile growing more sinister as he took a step toward her. The air seemed to grow colder with each step he took, the pressure around them intensifying. Mira, who had been prepared to retort, suddenly found herself at a loss for words. Her body began to tremble slightly as the gravity of Antonio’s presence hit her like a wave. As Antonio continued to take step after step towards her, Mira felt as if each step was overlapping with her heartbeat like a death bell signaling her end. His sapphire-blue winter like pupils made her feel as if she was staring into an icy blizzard when she stared into his eyes. Mira wanted nothing more than to tell him to stay away, yet she felt her word's running back into her throat, her body beginning to sweat in the blink of an eye. When he was finally standing before her, her breath came in short, shallow gasps. The color had drained from her face, leaving her pale and shaken. "Remember this, Mira," Antonio inched towards her ear, his hot breath brushing against her earlobe as he whispered, his voice low and dangerous. "An Angel who’s fallen is still more formidable than any man you’ve ever known. I advice you not to make the mistake of thinking otherwise." Mira gulped, her confidence crumbling in the face of the man who, despite his current state, still held an aura of authority and menace that could make even the strongest of wills falter. " Now out with it..., Why are you really here?." Antonio said, his voice sounding more like a command than a question. Unfortunately Mira was simply too shaken to speak. " Sigh....." Antonio let out a sigh, Seeing her pitiful state, he decided to calm down a bit. The moment his aura retracted, Mira who was already struggling, Fell to her knee's with a thud. Looking at her now, her complexion was visibly pale and her breathing still haggard, Her gaze fixated on the ground as if she was too frightened to raise them upwards to meet his once more. Antonio didn't even spare her a glance, instead with a calm countenance, He turned around before walking away from her, heading back towards the dumpster. Mira who was still startled felt her ego shatter when she noticed Antonio who still retained his composure even till now, Her hands clenched into fists while she bit her lower lip with indignation. " WHY!, JUST TELL ME WHY? " She asked with red moistened eyes. Alexander who was in the midst of taking another step paused his foot mid air, His head turning to the side to glance at her, His right brow raised with a questioning look on his face. " Am not a mind reader my dear, I'm afraid your gonna have to be far more specific than that " He smiled without care, Retaining his original signature look. " Don't play coy with me bastard!, Why won't you just accept her help and just start your life anew!. Do you have any idea how much the young miss has been suffering because of you!" Antonio's facial features darkened a bit when he heard this, his smile suddenly looked unnatural. " Even when she knew the family were still keeping an eye on you she didn't hesitate to offer you help!, She endured the family's stigma just so she could offer you a way out!, She keeps going against her own parents words just so she wouldn't feel indebted to you, So tell me, Why won't you just accept it and finally move on with your life!" " What your trying to do is completely hopeless and you know it!, There's no way you can go against the Mendez family, Am sure your already aware of that, So why do you still keep up with this useless charade of yours even till now!" Mira yelled at him, her face was now a mix of sadness and anger. As someone who knew him prior to this, She felt angered when she saw the once great man who she used to look up and revere like an idol, now wallowing in the trash like a mad man who wasn't worth anything. If he had just accepted her miss's help then all of this suffering would've been rectified, so why was he still so persistent. Alexander stood there in silence after Mira had finished voicing all the frustrations in her heart, his eyes were still pinned on her till now but unlike their earlier coldness they were now filled with nothing but solace and desolation. He shook his head after awhile of silence and let out a deep sigh before turning his back to her once more.Latest Chapter

He hadn’t moved, but he seemed to take up all the space around them, making her feel as if she had nowhere to go.“It’s the least I can do after experiencing such a private concert." Antonio snickered making her blush once more. "Besides, it looks like it might rain.” He glanced up at the grey, clouded sky, though in truth, it didn’t look like rain at all. " I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I allowed a benefactor of mine suffer when I know I could've lent a hand.' This can't be happening...'' Is he really serious?' ' Please just take the hint..' ' If I stay in his company any longer, who knows what might happen.'Misha’s mind raced. Every voice in her head screamed at her to say no, to thank him politely and walk away. But he was so disarmingly charming, and his eyes were so earnest, that the thought of a warm car ride to her destination, versus a cold, cr

Chapter 16: It's ok, I really don't mind. The last, lingering note from Misha’s violin faded into the late afternoon air, swallowed by the distant sounds of the city traffic and a sudden applause from the bystanders who had been listening. " Thank you, Thank you all so much." She thanked each and everyone of them, especially those who felt it in their hearts to reward her wonderful performance with a few generous notes.' Hahaha, please don't be shy.' she smiled at a couple who tipped her with smiles on their faces.' I know you've still got more than enough buddy... Cough up the dough..' Misha secretly stared at a chubby man eating a hotdog while bending down to tip her open case.' Yes yes yes, with this much, I can spurge a bit. Maybe even by one of those jelly donuts on my way back home.' She giggled in her mind.It was to be expected since the performance had managed to cause so many people to stop what they were doing and simply listen to her wonderful symphony. Even Antonio ha

The city's ambient noise of honking cars, distant chatter and the occasional bark of a store owner—served as a perfect cover for his discreet conversation. He spoke into his concealed earpiece, his tone calm without any hint of nervousness."The Target approached StarCorp Real Estate as anticipated," he reported. "Interaction with the receptionist was brief; however, Assistant Director Derek Chase confronted him publicly. Chase ridiculed Mr. Silverstone's past failures, drawing the attention of nearby employees and visitors. Mr Silverstone then responded with measured sarcasm before exiting the premises."A chuckle crackled through the earpiece, followed by the smooth, disdainful voice of Sir Nicholas. "Ah, that Silverstone brat definitely got what he deserved. He dares to boast about winning

Chapter 14: Pride and ProvocationAntonio stepped into the impressive lobby of StarCorp Real Estate, his gaze sweeping over the towering ceilings, glass walls, and slick, modern decor. The air conditioning washed over him, a cool breeze in contrast to the fire simmering within him as he steeled himself for what might await. Despite his polished and professional appearance, he wasn’t the kind of man to expect a warm welcome here, well, not anymore anyways. With a practiced calm, Antonio walked over to the sleek reception desk where a young woman with icy poise sat, typing swiftly on her system, her dark hair pulled into a tight bun. Antonio leaned against the counter with an easy smile, intending to keep things polite. “Good morning. I’m here to see Mr. Reginald Sharpe, The Director of this branch.”The receptionist’s hands froze mid-type. Her gaze remained glued to her screen for a moment before she hesitantly looked up. Her eyes widened in surprise the moment she saw him, especiall

Chapter 13: Shadowed Steps." Finally made it..." Antonio said In a light tone as the car’s sleek engine hummed to a halt in front of a skyscraper wrapped in glass and steel. Antonio’s sharp gaze lifted, taking in the towering grandeur of the brilliant looking building Infront of him.The building was non other than StarCorp Real Estates New York branch. Even at a glance, the building screamed extravagance, it was decorated with new sculptures which lined the entrance, golden accents gleamed against the glass facade, and a sprawling chandelier shone through the lobby’s floor to ceiling windows.Antonio gave a low whistle, muttering under his breath, " I guess things never change..., One way or the other, StarCorp… always finds new ways to flaunt their fortune." He then got out of his car and sighed before he adjusted the collar of his tailored long sleeved plain white shirt, his expression twisting with a mix of melancholy and curiosity as he approached the entrance.---Unbe

Chapter 12: A reasonable explanation. Her eyes were like twin shards of green ice, boring into him with a look that could freeze molten lava. The frosty expression on her face made the air feel thick with tension. And judging by the look in her eyes, Antonio realized with a pang of dread that his posture of leaning casually towards the flustered maid, might have looked a tad…ambiguous."Ahh Morning Natasha, forgive me, but I didn't notice you at all." he greeted smoothly, refusing to let her see any hint of discomfort. Her gaze shifted briefly to the maid, who seemed to be holding her breath. Natasha’s lips thinned into a cold, disapproving line. It was as if she was trying to decide whether to have Antonio skinned alive or simply incinerated on the spot.Antonio cleared his throat, adopting a casual tone. "I was just asking Emily for directions," he explained with a calm look, as if what he had done wasn't wrong whatsoever. He smiled, adding lightly, "I wouldn't want to get lost a
