Logan's eyes shot open, and he looked around with a smile on his face.

This place was just perfect. He would begin now.

It turned out the solution he had found just now was a cultivation technique called Heaven and Earth Devouring Scripture.

It allowed the user to absorb any kind of energy and then convert it into pure Qi for their own use.

The villa and the items all had a huge density of evil energy and curses around.

All he needed to do was abandon the previous technique he was using and start using this one.

This one was even way stronger than the one he had chosen. According to his memories, it was the top one and a forbidden technique.

Because of its nature, even if trash like him got their hands on it, they would become an immortal in no time.

Now, what if a genius with a perfect physique got their hands on it?

Another bizarre thing was that it worked well with any kind of physique, regardless.

According to what he remembered, it was created by a genius who was annoyed by the speed of his cultivation and also the fact that the Qi had begun to thin at that time.

Back then, many powerful clans and sects had joined hands after finding out about the technique and tried to force him to hand it over.

They had claimed it was an abomination. But the genius refused to give it up.

Eventually, he was besieged and killed, and the technique got lost with him.

As for how and why it had appeared alongside what he inherited from his ancestors, Logan could care less about that.

Pushing all of these to the back of his mind, Logan grinned and began to cultivate.

Even if his talent was trash, with the amount of evil energy here, he would be able to step into the first realm of cultivation.

Soon enough, a suction force began to draw the evil energy around.

Since the energy was scattered, it was a bit impossible to see what it looked like.

But with Logan actively sucking it towards himself, the evil energy soon became more like a dark cloud of mist.

Black mist also rose from the antiques and figurines on the floor, entering into Logan's body.

The same with the evil energy in the surroundings.

Back in the room, Bruce, who was comforting his daughter, suddenly felt as if he had been doused in a bucket of hot water.

At the same time, it was as though a huge rock had been lifted off his shoulders.

He felt even better than when Logan had drawn him a talisman.

"Dad..." Scarlett, who was also lying on the bed, felt the same and called, looking at her father.

"Don't worry, someone is already helping us," Bruce smiled gently and looked at his grandson by the side who was sleeping.

He didn't know how to thank Logan. Though he didn't know what the latter had done, he knew he had lifted whatever was happening.

After a while, Bruce stood up.

"I need to go with the young man; I have a feeling he'll be waiting for me," Bruce said, walking towards the door.

"You stay guard and look after them," Bruce instructed, looking at the two guards.

"Yes, sir." The guards nodded and didn't say anything.

Getting back downstairs, Bruce saw Logan walking around the sitting room, drawing something in the air.

"Old man, you're here," Logan's low chuckle came as he continued with what he was doing without turning around.

At the moment, Logan was feeling elated. He hadn't expected it, but the evil energy had actually propelled him right to the peak of the Qi Foundation Realm.

Now, all that was left to do was to draw protection in the villa and then channel any source of evil energy towards himself.

This way, even if the other party comes over, he or she wouldn't discover anything.

And if they were to try to plant more items with evil energy or curses within the house, it would automatically transfer to him.

And for him?

It would serve as cultivation.

This was a win-win for all parties. Well, this was as long as they were in the house.

After a while, Logan was done. Turning to Bruce, he stretched his hands and placed them on the old man's forehead.

Instantly, his cultivation technique activated, drawing every bit of energy within Bruce.

At the same time, Bruce finally felt okay. Though he had felt better before.

Because he had worn the bracelet for a long time, the evil energy in his body was far deeper than anything.

"Alright, I'm done here," Logan stretched, turning around to leave.

He had gained quite a lot tonight.

If he could get a curse-filled place like this for about ten to twenty families, wouldn't he quickly become an immortal?

"Remember to return everything I took from the sitting room," Logan stopped in his tracks as he instructed.

"Also, not a word of what happened tonight should leave this place," Logan added, his voice dropping low at this moment.

He couldn't allow Bruce just to be saying it around. The other party might figure it out, and that way, they would try to use another means and it meant he wouldn't be able to get a continuous supply of evil energy.

"Understood," Bruce hurriedly nodded; though he didn't know why Logan would say such, he was happy to comply.

"I'll have the guards take you back," Bruce suggested, running after Logan.

"There's no need for that, I'll take a cab," Logan waved his hands. But the moment he said that, he froze, remembering the money he had with him would only make half of the journey.

Though with his new status of cultivation, he could walk all the way and not get tired, he didn't want to do that.

"Old man, do you perhaps have a few dollars to spare, maybe about a hundred?" Logan smiled bitterly, turning back to Bruce.

Hearing that, Bruce smiled widely and quickly took out a card.

"Here," he said, forcing the card into Logan's hands and also refusing to mention the amount in it.

"I..."

"You don't have to worry, there's not much in it," Bruce quickly interrupted, fearing Logan would reject the card.

After all, the lad had flatly rejected over fifteen million that afternoon.

"Alright, then I'll take my leave," Logan sighed, knowing well he couldn't reject this one.

Without another word, he turned around and left, while Bruce breathed in a sigh of relief.
