“What?”
Maya gasped in shock, almost losing her balance on the floor. Her eyes widened after her face became so ashen. She was trying hard not to believe what she just heard. Not just her but Aria too. Both of them looked back at the bed and without going to confirm, they were sure the man was dead. Even the doctors who stood by the side had gloomy faces as they weren't able to save him. Damien who just walked in, noticed all this, the tension in the air; however, he was perplexed as to how it was affiliated with Maya. “You aren't saying anything yet? Have you not made your decision already?” The man, Moses continued. His eyes were piercing daggers at her as he emitted killing intent. If he could swap Maya's life to bring his son back, he would have done it a long time ago. Both Maya and Aria trembled upon hearing his words again. Maya inhaled deeply, deciding to be calm about it. “I can't choose!” She said. “Hahahaha, what a nice joke.” Moses burst out chuckling. “I knew you were going to say this,” he continued with a smile. A vicious look appeared in his eyes as he spoke again. “Don't think because you know how to fight, I don't know how to end you. I hope you haven't forgotten who I am.” He pointed it out as a reminder in case she was forgetting that fact. Maya gritted her teeth tightly. She inhaled deeply before looking at him, intending to say something when Damien raced her to it. He stepped forward too. “What's the need for violence?” He asked curiously as he had yet to grasp what was going on. Maya frowned and pulled him back quickly. “Damien, you shouldn't say such things, especially to someone like him.” Damien smiled. “I know what I am doing.” He assured her before turning to face Moses. “Why are you blaming Maya?” He asked abruptly. Moses laughed evilly after sizing Damien up, seeing him as nothing but a fool. “You don't know?” He asked in a mocking tone. “No I don't,” Damien replied genuinely. Moses studied him for a short while before going ahead to explain to him. After all, he didn't mind, as no one could stop him from dealing with Maya here today. “My son Owen has been terribly sick, and her company released a new drug which they claim to be effective!” He pointed at Maya with so much anger and disgust in his eyes as he spoke. “But, it turns out to be all lies!” He gritted his teeth tightly and couldn't help but blame himself for foolishly falling for their words. Now it felt like his son's life was nothing but a test subject to them. “I bought the costly drug and administered it to my son but eventually his condition didn't improve but worsened instead and now he is dead. Just look at my son, he is lying motionless on the bed.” Moses continued with red eyes. Behind his tough and furious expression was a father who wanted his son to be back to normal. He kept wishing and praying yet nothing had happened. He even thought this was a false reality or a dream he would wake up from but it wasn't. How could he bear to watch his son die like that? His wife who was seated by the bedside hadn't said a word since. She had been crying for a long time and hadn't moved from where she was seated. It felt like she was on the verge of losing herself if she hadn't already. When he took a glance at both of them, he gritted his teeth even tighter. Damien was stunned. He had just gotten out of prison and didn't know much about Maya or her company so there was no way he could have guessed it. Now it all made sense. He turned to Maya. “Is it true?” He asked to confirm while she nodded. “Yes, it is.” Maya wouldn't deny it else she wouldn't have come all the way to this place. It was still a dream to her too that the drug failed when she knew how authentic it was. The drug had gone through several trials before it was let out to the public. She had been one hundred percent sure and could have sworn that nothing could go wrong but now, it felt like she had lost her tongue. She no longer knew what to say, how to say it, or what to do. It wasn't like she could miraculously bring a dead man back to life. Damien studied her expression and realized how difficult it must have been for her. It wasn't easy to run a company, especially one in such a field. “Now that you know what she did, do you dare to ask me if there's a need for violence anymore?” Moses harrumphed coldly as he looked at Damien this time. The look in his eyes stated that if Damien were to side with Maya again after what he heard, he would fold his sleeve up and fight both of them to the death here and now. The least he could do was send them to the afterlife and then pray they got tortured in hell. He waited patiently when Damien turned to him and smiled. “I mean what I said. There's no need for violence!” Moses instantly felt like hurling a fist right in the middle of his nose to break it. However, Damien continued. “After all, your son isn't dead yet.”Latest Chapter
But, it doesn't matter
Smack!Damien then proceeded to drop a contract document on the table. No one on the other party except Joseph saw this coming. So that was the plan Damien had all along? To use the betting contract to force them into collaborating with Vantage Materials? “What's the meaning of this?” Donald's brow arched. “Are you pulling a stunt to save yourself or what?” He growled.“Why don't you ask your son? I'm sure he knows what I am talking about!” Damien shifted his gaze to Joseph. The latter shivered as soon as he became the subject of attention.“Dad…he….” Joseph had been thinking of lies to tell his father since yesterday. He didn't sleep, and dark circles formed around his eyes because of the pressure. He never expected Damien to come at them so soon. As he stood there, he began racking his head up; after a while, he thought of something and immediately spoke up.“Last night… I was drunk. He forced me to sign it.” He pointed at Damien as he lamented.“Force you? Did I force you to lose

Soon the three of them walked back into the company. Leo and Kai had just stepped out of the elevator, intending to head to a few departments to assign new tasks to the workers, when they saw the man they thought they had chased, walking back in.Kai frowned and wanted to curse when Leo stopped him. His face paled as he looked past Aiden to the young man walking behind him. Undoubtedly, that was the same person who had beaten Lily and Joseph in front of the company the other day, which had caused a huge stir on the internet and made their stock plummet. If the man was here, didn't that mean he had something planned? Also, he was with Aiden? What the heck was going on?“Why are you stopping me from cursing that bastard to death?” Kai complained in displeasure.“Look,” Leo leaned closer to him. “You see that man behind him,” he added, not daring to point at Damien, but at least he expected Kai to know who he was referring to.“You mean that kid?” Kai sized Damien up as he spoke when Le

Bang!Bang!Bang! In less than thirty seconds, twenty-five people were sprawled all around in the room, unconscious. Some had broken legs, some broken hands. In summary, they were all in overwhelming pain and as a result, they all passed out. The others, upon seeing this, didn't dare test the waters anymore. Their numbers didn't matter; Damien was a monster who couldn't be stopped. It didn't matter if they rushed at him like a tide; none of them were able to touch his clothes.Even a few men in suits Joseph had come with, thinking they could make a difference, could do nothing.Joseph had sunk back to his chair with crushing defeat in his chest. He couldn't speak a word to motivate the others to attack. They had all lost hope, and all he could see in their eyes was fear. He wasn't any different.Smiling, Damien walked back to where he was and picked up the contract document.“I guess we are done here.” He then looked toward the dealer. Without saying a word, the man knew what was nee

Bang!“Damn it! You cheated! I can swear it. Four games, and you won all. No one can be that lucky.” Joseph stood up and slapped the dice off the table in a fit of rage. His face had become uglier than before, just as Damien had anticipated. “Why did you cheat? That wasn’t the deal!” He pointed at Damien and sneered. Though he could cheat in roulette; all he had to do was ask the dealer to spin the wheel, but in chess, if it were someone else, he would have used his hand to flip the dice to his choice of numbers. But with Damien, he couldn’t dare to do such a thing.“I won. The contract has been signed too. Now I can leave. I do not want to keep playing anymore.” Damien nodded and stood up. He looked at the dealer before continuing.“Convert the cash to chips and send the money to me.” He instructed.“No!” Joseph suddenly bellowed. Damein looked at him only to see his face had contorted with both pain and despair. “We should keep playing!” He continued through gritted teeth. His h
A straight win!
“What are your terms? You go first.” Joseph said, intertwining his fingers as he leaned forward, staring at Damien intently.“It’s simple. If I win, you’ll have to do whatever I want.” Damien said nonchalantly.Besides, he knew Joseph wanted him to go first so he could gauge his terms, and if they were unfavorable to him and his family, he would easily call it off.On the other hand, Joseph expected something worse, but hearing what Damien said, it didn’t seem much of a big deal to him. Besides, there was no way Damien was going to win this time. He might have a chance with the roulette games, but when it came to rolling dice, Joseph had already begun to imagine himself winning the jackpot.“My terms are, you’ll give me double the winnings. I don’t mind if you don’t have money; you can call Maya to send some. She’s your accomplice, isn’t she?”He raised a brow at him as he spat.Damein remained calm. The brat wanted the jackpot of four hundred million dollars and another, totaling ei

“You…you are cheating, aren’t you?” Joseph roared out furiously with beet-red eyes. He never thought or expected the feeling of losing would be so hurtful. Even if he lost, he should have been able to control the situation, but with Damien, he felt like he was trapped in a box.“Cheating? Coming from someone like you?”Damien raised a brow at him. “Or are you so distressed about the money you just lost that you want to falsely accuse me instead? Come on, I thought the Beckham family had a lot of money? Don’t tell me you guys have gone broke after losing just this little to me.”His eyes narrowed intently even though he was deliberately trying to provoke the other party.Joseph was so close to losing himself. The makeup he put on to cover up his bruises was slowly falling off. If people saw the printed finger marks on his cheek and knowing Damien’s character, he would definitely use it to taunt him.He decided to calm himself down instead. Subsequently, he tried his best to put on a s
