In the ruins of what had once been a beautiful structure, burnt to the ground. The breeze carried the memories of what once stood there, a time forcefully taken from people. In those ruins stood a figure, 6'2 "tall.
The calm wind blew across his coat; his stature mirrored the gods in men's many stories. His hazel-green eyes, almost hidden by his long silver hair, stared blankly at the ruins, his mind calm and collected as the wind swayed his coat side to side. He held a bouquet of flowers. "Father, Mother...your son has come home." He whispered slowly, setting the bouquet on the floor. Memories flooded his mind: the nightmares he couldn't run from and the memories of the worst day of his entire life. October 31, 2014.... The Black family was celebrating their youngest daughter's birthday; Ayra had finally turned eleven, and the house was filled with joy. The twins, Kane and Jaden, watched their sister dance with absolute joy. The entire family was happy, then it happened... Fire arrows came through the windows, disrupting the party. Almost immediately, Kane saw his father and uncles pull swords from the wall, ready for the fight. "Sasha, take the cubs and get out of here!" Edgar Black roared, holding his blade up; his brothers did the same beside him. Kane watched as his mother grabbed Ayra and Jaden, ready to run away. Then another wave of arrows came in, taking down one of his uncles. But the man stood there, cutting down the ones that kept pouring in. They couldn't get all the arrows; most of them met their bodies, but that didn't stop the men... They let out a battle cry as he swung down the arrows with such ferocity that it was hard to watch. Edgar aided his brother; both fought like beasts to keep the arrows from coming in. Kane then remembered seeing four men leaping high into the room from the windows, spears in hand; they stabbed his uncles in the heart with the spears. His father fought them back, but he was impaled, and his body was lifted into the air like he was some kind of game. "Father!!" Kane muffled a scream, seeing his father and uncles being taken down. Sasha didn't wait a second, holding her children.... She pulled them away from the room and ran to the back door, leading them far away. Before she left, she gave Kane a necklace, Jaden an amulet and a ring, and Ayra a bracelet. "Kane, take care of your siblings and make sure that-" Her words were cut short when a spear came through her back, coming out the front, giving Kane a cut on his face. The boy was too horrified to scream; Jaden covered Ayra's eyes, trying to keep her from seeing anything like that. Sasha, smiling while controlling her breath, placed her hand on Kane's cheek. "Protect them, my little Dragon..." Mustering her last strength, she pushed Kane back, then shut the door. Activating a lock that couldn't be opened until the very next day. Kane stood there for a second, then he turned, taking Ayra from Jaden as they bolted out of the mansion. "DONT LOOK BACK!" He yelled at his siblings, knowing that the moment they did. they would be swallowed by despair... The Black Family Mansion was burning... Kane carried Ayra as they kept running into the far alleys of Karndor, trying to survive. They finally stopped at an abandoned house; Kane and his siblings entered and took shelter. Ayra tugged on his shirt; he looked down at her eyes, laced with worry. "Brother, are Mom and Dad okay?" She asked; her brain seemed to be hiding the trauma. Kane understood and held her even closer. "Dont worry, they will be fine... they will be with us soon!" His throat hurt as he lied through his teeth, trying to make sure that his sister would be happy. They hid there for about three weeks or more. Kane and Jaden took turns going out to steal food from restaurants and shops so they could eat. One day, Kane returned to the hideout and found Ayra crying alone. "Ayra, where is Jaden?" he asked, looking around... "He said mommy and daddy are dead and that they aren't coming back. I called him a liar, then he ran off crying." Ayra cried, her lips quivering as she looked at Kane. "I am sorry for hurting Jaden; he was crying when he left. I know I am not..." Kane didn't let her finish talking; he hugged his sister. "Shhh, you don't need to apologize to me..." Kane held her, then turned to see it was getting late. So he carried Ayra out to look for Jaden. They walked down a path that led to their mansion. He dropped Ayra in a hidden spot and walked further to see if he could find his brother. "Jaden, Jad-" Kane stopped calling out for him when he saw the ring his mother had given Jaden on the floor, with blood all around it. He froze, realizing that the worst might have happened. He heard a shriek from Ayra. He turned and ran toward where he hid his sister, only to see two huge men standing there, spears in hand. "He must be the one." One of the men spoke, smiling as he looked at him. "Yes, he fits the description. Silver-white hair," the other spoke as he stared at the boy, taking a step forward. "Let's get rid of this piece of shit!" Hearing this, Kane believed that the worst had happened to his sister. "YOU BASTARDS!" He roared, dashing for the men with pure rage. But as he got closer to the men, one of them smiled and kicked him clear across the face, sending the boy flying back. "What was he planning to do? Be some kind of tragic hero?!" the man mocked as he stood over Kane, looking the boy in the eye. "He must think this is some kind of anime or movie; well, let's put this young hero out of his misery!" The man spoke as he raised his spear. Kane saw the spear, and he could do nothing. 'I'm sorry, Mom, I'm sorry, Dad...' Kane closed his eyes, accepting his fate. But then a powerful gust of wind blew across the field. In the blink of an eye, the men's heads exploded like water balloons. Kane stayed on the floor, looking around; all he could think about was what had saved him from those men. When he stood up, three men stood in front of him, each holding a blade, all dressed in Black and Emerald robes... One of them walked up to Kane and knelt before him. He stretched out his hand and spoke calmly. "I am sorry it took so long to find you, but if you wish to take back all that you have lost. It would be best for you to follow us." Kane stared at the man, and for some reason. It reminded him of his father and uncles. He took the man's hand and followed. About twelve years passed... Stories of a nation's sudden rise on the continent of Valoria caught many eyes... The mighty nation of Ashenford was small, known for harboring some of the strongest warriors who had broken limits through cultivation. But at the peak of the Great War, Ashenford was on the brink of collapse; they were cornered. A thousand enemy soldiers versus their measly numbers, they were about to be erased from the face of the earth. Until one single warrior appeared... One they had given the highest title amongst warriors in Ashenford and Valoria as a whole... The Dragon King... Kane Black. Single-handedly, he fought an army of thousands; he devoured them like a wildfire. The mention of the Dragon King made the mightiest warrior tremble; it made monarchs sit up and take notice. They called him a monster; some called him a god, while others called him the shadow of justice. Then one day, suddenly, he vanished from the eyes of men... But now he returns, standing right in front of that monster's birthplace, the birthplace of that being. And he wasn't just here to mourn.Latest Chapter
Chapter 8
~Devaran Springs Resort~ Four people were seen by the resort pool, enjoying themselves. Bradson Vincent, Phoebe Vincent, Timothy Vincent, and Elder Lucas were seen sitting there, celebrating with so much joy in their hearts. “I can't believe it's been twelve years already; I can still remember it like it was yesterday when it was announced that assassins killed them off.” Bradson laughed; he couldn't control himself as he fell to the floor, trying to get his head around it all. “Yeah, and the call came that something bad had happened to Lord Edgar; I was told to rush to his house. They didn't know I was one of the men who drove the blade into his chest.” Timothy laughed; he sounded ecstatic. “The man looked me in the eye; he was so disappointed in both of us. There wasn't a chance he would have believed that there was something that would convince us to change.” Their laughter filled the air. Phoebe sat with her legs crossed, looking down at the pool. “Poor Sasha, I know she

Russo tried to pull his arm from Kane’s grip, but the harder he pulled, the tighter Kane held on. “You said that I was an ant, and crushing me would mean something.” Kane spoke, looking him in the eye and making sure he couldn't get away. Russo stared at him, fear filling his mind with different images as Kane lifted his hand and kept staring. “Now, mighty warrior, let an ant show you that it can sting!” Kane roared and punched Russo in the face, sending the Elder crashing to the floor and leaving a crater. Everyone who had stayed back, believing the Elder and Keith Vincents would be enough to stop this man, was now in shock. Even Elder Russo, a cultivator who had earned praise for reaching a level of power few could attain, was shocked. Keith looked at Kane; his legs shook as he pushed a button. The alert went out to all the guards in the building: they were about to take down a monster, and they needed to avoid mistakes. “Calling for backup? I thought you were fearless?” K

Kane slowly wiped blood off his shoe and looked at Russo and Keith. He hadn't come there to play games with them, and he didn't want to waste his time on anything like that. Everyone at the party had started making their way out of the hall, knowing that it was about to turn into a disaster zone. The guards knew better than to try to intervene; they were normal men, and fighting cultivators would be the end of them. No one who provoked an Elder of the conclave would get away with it. Not everyone left; some stayed back to see what would become of the silver-white-haired man who came to a place like this looking for trouble. “He is dead now. Elder Russo was said to have broken through and hit the Violet Rank; someone like him won't lose to him. I am sure that they aren't going to kill right away.” “Are you kidding? He just killed Daran Becker; they are going to make his life a living hell.” Kane kept his eyes on the men; he knew they were trying to scare him. Russo was the firs

Kane walked into the hall and saw all sorts of people. The wealthy men of Karndor were eager to prove they had something to show for it. His eyes moved around, as if he were looking at the showglass where his family's property was on display, and at how they held it up. It was heart-crushing to see his father's prized polearm, his mother's wyrm tiara, and the one that broke every nerve he had: his brother's bracelet. "Did you hear?" Two women were behind Kane, and their eyes fixed on the showglass. "Keith Vincent said he is going to be selling the polearm to Daran Becker and Hasashi Becker; they are here to take it." "The Beckers? They are pretty powerful, the only two cultivators who went into business." "Eh, I heard that they managed to break through to the Gold rank; that is basically superhuman already, and if they trained a bit harder, they might hit apprentice level. Giving them a good chance even to parry an elder." Kane heard all he needed to; they were planning on sel
Chapter 4
Kane stood over the dead body, looking at it, almost empty and void of any emotion that could get him anything other than the anger he felt within himself. "I see they pissed you off." The man in a white suit spoke up, looking at the piles of dead bodies. Kane stayed silent and turned to the soldiers who had come with him. "Damien, did they..." "They brought them, so you dont need to worry about it." The man in the white suit was Damien Matthews, Kane's second-in-command, or, as people called him, the Right Hand of Destruction. Kane turned to the warriors and bowed his head slightly. Then almost immediately, the warriors signaled the car. Other people brought down tombstones made of gold, decorated with diamonds and other rare stones. There were six; they lined them up behind the cups Kane had set up. The stones bore the names of all Kane's fallen family members. "Damien," Kane muttered, watching the workers set up the tombstones. "Yeah?" "How fast can you get me the loc

Kane stood there, with his hands bloodied as he turned to look at the men who stood right beside Kylian. They had guns in their hands, ready to shoot. "I hope that now you have pulled your weapons out; you know how to use them?" Kane asked, as his eyes met theirs. Kylian shook as his eyes met Kane's, and all he felt was fear. The man standing before him seemed nothing like a normal person. The way he stared at him without showing any fear made it worse. Kane stepped forward, his eyes still on the man. Immediately, he took another step. "You have no idea who you are crossing paths with. Are you trying to hurt me? The Vincents are going to kill you if anything happens to me!!" Kylian yelled, trying to keep Kane from doing anything. "If you even think of hurting me, they will make sure that Elder Russo, the Blazing Meteor of the Conclave, will make sure that you get the most excruciating death. There will be nothing left of you, so I advise that you find another thing to do." K
