The Bugatti sped through the dark night like a polished bullet.

As they hit the open highway, the road ahead was black and empty, and the only sound was the low, powerful hum of the engine. It didn't roar, it purred deep and rhythmic like a heartbeat.

Avery stole a glance at Robert.

He looked completely relaxed. His hands gripped the wheel loosely, and his face was calm. It was as if the drama from earlier, the kneeling of powerful men and the chaotic incidents meant absolutely nothing to him, like it was just another Tuesday.

Within minutes, a pair of massive gates came into view from the darkness.

Behind them sat a giant estate that glowed under golden spotlights. This was the Grandeur Reserve. It didn't look like a restaurant; it looked like a palace for kings. Huge stone pillars stood like guards at the entrance, and the name was carved deep into white marble. Right beneath it was the golden logo of the Bullion Corporation, shining so brightly it practically screamed wealth and power.

The Bugatti slowed down.

The security cameras on the wall turned towards them. A guard in a grey uniform stepped forward and held up a hand, keeping the heavy steel barrier down. He walked to the driver’s side and tapped lightly on the dark tinted glass.

Robert pressed a button, and the window slid down without a sound.

The guard leaned in, ready to be firm, but then he saw Avery. His face softened instantly into a polite smile.

"Miss Avery," he said, bowing his head slightly. "Good evening."

"Good evening," she replied with a small, tired smile.

The guard stepped back and waved his hand. The heavy barrier was lifted. "Welcome back, Miss."

Robert rolled the window up, and the Bugatti rolled forward, entering the heart of the estate.

Inside, the view was breathtaking. The curved driveway was packed with millions of dollars worth of metal. Rolls Royces, Ferraris, and Bentleys were lined up like toys under the soft garden lights. But when the Bugatti La Voiture Noire drove past them, people actually stopped walking to stare. It wasn't loud or flashy; it was just dominant.

Robert parked smoothly right at the front. A valet rushed over but slowed down when he saw Robert stepping out to open Avery’s door himself.

She stepped out gracefully, her dress shimmering under the lights. The air out here smelled like expensive perfume and fresh flowers.

Robert handed the key to the valet. As they walked towards the entrance, the massive glass doors slid open automatically.

Inside, it was the peak of elegance. Huge crystal chandeliers hung from the high ceilings, and the floors were so polished they looked like mirrors. To their right, a long, beautiful pool shimmered under dim blue lights, with small candles floating on the water's surface.

It was quiet, private, and perfectly romantic.

A host hurried toward them. "Good evening."

Avery gave her name, and the host bowed deeply. "Your usual table is ready, Miss Avery."

Robert caught that. Your usual table. He tucked that bit of information away with a curious smirk.

They were led to the quietest corner of the restaurant, right by the water. The sound of a soft piano blended with the gentle splashing of the pool. They sat across from each other, and for a moment, the world outside simply disappeared.

A waiter arrived, and they ordered without even looking at the menu. Premium wine, fresh seafood, steak, and dessert.

Once the waiter vanished, Avery leaned back and looked at Robert.

"You look very comfortable here," Robert noted, watching her.

She smiled faintly, swirling her water. "I grew up in places like this. They all start to feel the same after a while."

The wine was poured, and their glasses clinked with a soft ping. They began to eat, letting the tension of the night finally fade away. They laughed and talked, and for a while, it was strange, just an hour ago, they were standing on a social battlefield. Now, they were sitting under warm lights, acting like the rest of the world didn't exist.

Avery shook her head, looking at him with wonder. "You’re doing the impossible, you know." she said.

Robert raised an eyebrow. "Is that a compliment?"

"Kind of," she admitted, leaning forward. "First, you get two of the biggest names in the city on your side. Then you show up in a helicopter. Now, you're driving a car that costs more than some countries' budgets."

She stared at him, her eyes searching his. "How do you keep doing this?"

Robert took a slow sip of his wine. "Doing what?"

"Surprising me. Every time I think I've figured you out, you do something bigger."

He smiled, a real, genuine smile. "Give it time."

"That’s what you always say!"

"Because time explains everything, Avery."

She narrowed her eyes playfully. "Or maybe you just like keeping me on edge."

"Maybe a little," he confessed.

They both laughed, the sound was comforting against the soft piano music. For a few minutes, it felt like nothing could touch them. Avery wiped her lips with a silk napkin and smiled at him, her eyes glowing.

But then... her smile disappeared slowly.

Robert noticed the change instantly. The air around them suddenly felt heavy. "What is it?" he asked quietly.

She didn't answer at first. Her eyes were locked on something behind him, and her fingers tightened around her wine glass.

"My ex is here," she whispered under her breath.

Robert didn't act surprised. "Where?"

"Behind you. Near the bar."

Robert slowly turned his head to look.

And then he saw him.

The man was tall with broad, powerful shoulders. He sat with a perfect posture, dressed in a custom dark suit that probably cost a fortune. Even just sitting there, he had the aura of a king.

Tristan Damon.

The world famous boxer. A man who had fought his way to the top and was now worth over ten billion dollars. His face was smooth and handsome, but his eyes... his eyes were like that of a predator.

And they were locked directly on Robert’s table.

Tristan didn't smile. He just watched them, measuring Robert up like an opponent in a ring.

Robert turned back around slowly. "You didn't mention him," he said casually.

Avery swallowed hard. "We broke up two years ago."

"Was it a clean separation?"

She hesitated, and her voice dropped lower. "Not exactly."

Robert nodded once, his expression was unreadable.

Across the room, Tristan stood up.

He adjusted his cuffs with slow, deliberate movements. Then, he began to walk. Every step he took was heavy and purposeful, heading straight for their table.

The quiet table by the pool suddenly became the center of the entire room.

Robert pushed his chair back and stood up. The sound wasn't loud, but in a room that big, it was enough to get everyone’s attention. Almost instinctively, everyone else started standing up too, their chairs sliding across the polished floor one after another.Anna was up first, then Avery. Professor Darby took a second to straighten his jacket, and Rose followed him, still looking around the dining hall like she was afraid it might vanish if she blinked. Then the butler stepped up behind them like a shadow.Robert gave them a small, relaxed smile. “Come on,” he said, and started walking. The Graham Oasis was even more intense at night. The hallways had a soft, golden glow that bounced off the marble floors, making them look like mirrors. Through the massive glass walls, you could see fountains lit up in white light and gardens that looked more like outdoor art galleries.Anna kept turning her head from side to side. “Okay,” she muttered, mostly to herself. “I will definitely get lost

  • CHAPTER 101: Dining with the Graham's

The silverware was clinking, and everyone was talking in that low, happy way you do when the food is so good that it actually calms you down. For a while, nobody said much— they were all just busy experiencing a meal that most people only see in movies.Anna wasn’t the type to sit in silence for long, though. She dropped her fork after a massive bite of steak and just shook her head. "Okay," she said, looking dead serious. "This has to be illegal. Seriously, someone should be in jail for making a steak this good. There should be laws against this."Robert turned to her looking half amused. "Illegal?"Avery chuckled softly beside her.Professor Darby smiled politely while cutting another piece of lamb.Rose ate quietly, still taking everything in— the room, the food, the fact that the boy she had raised was the heir to the most powerful family on earth.Anna took another bite and leaned back again."Yeah," Anna said, pointing her fork at him like she was making a legal argument. "It ju

  • CHAPTER 100: The Table of a Trillionaire

When the doors opened, Anna actually stopped breathing. It wasn't on purpose, she gasped and her lungs just seemed to stall out.“...Oh my God,” she whispered.Avery, Rose, and the Professor were right behind her, and they all had that same reaction of silence. It was that heavy kind of quiet you get when your brain is trying to make sense of something it wasn't built to process. The dining hall was massive— easily the size of a cathedral— with a dome ceiling fifty feet up covered in gold leaf murals, kings and leaders placing down their crowns and bowing before a single throne. Huge diamond chandeliers hung down like frozen waterfalls, and the polished black marble floor was so clean it looked like a mirror. But the real showstopper was the table. It was a single, fifty foot slab of black obsidian with gold designs that stretched almost the whole length of the hall.“That table has to be forty feet long,” Anna muttered.“Fifty,” Professor Darby corrected softly, squinting through hi

The Ocean Gallery started to fade behind them as they followed the butler down yet another long corridor. Anna was still looking over her shoulder every few seconds.“I’m definitely going to be dreaming about that whale shark tonight,” she muttered.Avery laughed. “You’re acting like we just stepped onto another planet.”“It felt like one,” Anna shot back.Professor Darby was still shaking his head as he walked. “In forty years of studying history,” he said quietly, “I never imagined I’d just casually stroll past artifacts that national museums would literally start wars over.”Rose had a faint smile on her face, but the look in her eyes showed she was just as amazed. “This doesn't even feel like a house anymore. It’s more like another world.”The butler slowed down a bit and turned back to face them. “If I may ask... do you all enjoy music?”Anna blinked, caught off guard. “Music?”“Classical, perhaps? Orchestral? The opera?”Avery’s face lit up immediately. “Actually, yeah. I love i

The butler led them down a long hallway lined with polished marble and soft golden lighting. Even the air in this part of the Oasis felt different— cooler, quieter, almost sacred.Anna kept glancing left and right like someone walking through a museum they weren’t supposed to be in.“This place just keeps getting bigger,” she muttered.Avery laughed softly. “You’re acting like a kid in a theme park.”“I feel like one,” Anna said immediately. “I thought the medical wing was impressive, but this… this feels like something out of a movie.”The butler stopped in front of a pair of tall elevator doors made entirely of brushed silver.“If you would all step inside,” he said politely. The doors opened silently. The interior of the elevator was larger than some hotel rooms. Soft lights ran along the walls, and the floor was made of a single piece of polished black stone.Professor Darby stepped inside slowly, adjusting his glasses as he looked around.“This elevator alone probably costs more

  • CHAPTER 97: The Weight of the Throne

The hallway outside the medical wing was quiet, but it didn't feel empty. Guards in dark suits were posted every few yards, blending into the shadows cast by the marble walls. The gold trim along the floor caught the soft overhead light, tracing long, expensive lines down the corridor.Abram led the way with Robert walking right beside him. They didn't say much at first, their footsteps the only sound echoing off the polished stone as they headed for the massive gold railed staircase.“Do you actually trust them?” Abram asked eventually.Robert knew his father wasn't one for small talk, so he didn't have to ask who he was talking about. “Avery? Yeah, I do.”“And her father?”They started up the stairs together.“Avery is a good person,” Robert said, keeping his voice steady.Abram glanced over at him. “Good people can still cause problems, Robert.”“Not her,” Robert said with a half smile. “She’s still figuring out how our world works. Honestly, she doesn't seem to care about the fami
