Berry's Demands

Katrina, who had been squatting facing Axel, suddenly stood up at this remark. "Berry..."

The nurse pushed her wheelchair and approached the two people.

"That's not what he wants. I'm ready to go to jail," Axel replied in the end.

"Good, you finally realized your mistake. But it won't be easy because I'm going to sue you for damages. You'll see!" Berry smiled wryly, her neck now wearing a neck brace due to Axel's actions.

"Ber, why are you so cruel to Axel? Didn't you also hit his face until it was bruised like this" Katrina tried to remind Berry's actions towards Axel?

Katrina knew very well that Axel wouldn't have fought back if Berry hadn't gone too far with him, but considering what the man had said earlier. It didn't demand the possibility that Berry would definitely act considering the severe injuries he had suffered.

"What should we do, Xel? Berry wouldn't be joking with that remark."

Katrina glanced at her coworker, she was starting to get concerned about Axel's condition. It was unfortunate for Axel, but as a woman Katrina couldn't help much.

"I'll try to persuade Berry, you wait here," Katrina offered.

Since Axel's rescue from the incident of two thugs who almost raped her last year, the girl began to consider Axel as her best friend, even though Axel was married, Katrina still maintained a good relationship with the man.

"You don't have to bother helping me, Na. Just let her do what she wants to do?"

"No, Xel. Didn't you just get out of jail and found not guilty? Do you want to be behind bars again?" asked Katrina sternly.

"What can I do, Na? Maybe it's my destiny to be behind bars." Axkl took a rough breath, he tried to calm himself down, although his mind was so frantic.

"No, I can't allow that! Maybe by persuading Berry, I can repay you for your service last year." Katrina stepped away to enter the room where Berry was being treated, even though Axel kept calling her the girl didn't care.

Katrina stopped her steps when she heard Berry's conversation over the phone, "You have to sue that damn man! I can't accept him making me this battered."

"You can't! You're at fault here too, you beat Axel first and I can be a witness," Katrina continued, unable to hold back her emotions at Berry's words.

Immediately, the handsome man turned to the source of the sound, and to his surprise Berry found Katrina walking into his room.

"Katrina," he called softly and quickly switched off the phone.

"Yes, I'd like to also be a key witness that you started the fight with Axel first."

Berry smiled wryly, "Do you have proof that I attacked Axel first?" he asked as he moved his wheelchair closer to Katrina.

The girl was silent for a moment, she didn't see the beginning of the two men's quarrel but the bruises on Axel's handsome face could prove that the first attacker was Berry.

"I can't be a witness." Katrina was firm with her words.

"Katrina, why do you care so much about that hobo that his wife sued? He's just a poor, useless man and don't tell me you like that poor man?"

Berry circled Katrina's body using his wheelchair, he was so annoyed that the beautiful girl he admired so much was defending another man.

"Just so you know witnesses without evidence don't mean anything. Besides, you arrived at the alley when our fight was about to end."

"You're wrong, I was already there before that."

"No need to be evasive, Katrina. I have video footage of the fight and with that evidence, Axel will be severely punished. Not to mention the evidence from the examination states that I was badly injured by his actions."

Katrina rounded her pair of black bead balls, and hearing the sentence Berry threw out made the girl draw a conclusion

"Don't tell me you planned this first?"

Berry smiled with satisfaction, "If you want to persuade me to reduce your best friend's punishment then serve me tonight," said Berry glancing at the girl of his dreams.

"How dare you!" interrupted Katrina in annoyance.

"You won't be able to do anything to help Axel because I already have plenty of evidence to prosecute and put him in jail."

"I can help Axel. I'm sure as hell, he won't stay silent."

Katrina was about to turn her body to leave Berry's room but the handsome man's hand grabbed her, "Don't be angry, dear! I'll be looking forward to your dear friend's destruction."

"We'll see about that! I'm sure the truth will prevail."

Katrina threw Berry's hand away violently, she didn't want to be held by a bad man like Berry.

Seeing the heroine's cowardice, Berry smiled triumphantly. "I'm sure you'll kneel at my feet so I can ease Axel's sentence later."

Axel, who had been standing at the door of Berry's room, swallowed his saliva when he saw Katrina in front of him.

"What is your habit of eavesdropping on other people's conversations?" snapped Katrina irritably.

"Don't lower your self-esteem to help me, Na. I'm ready to go to jail."

Axel reminded his best friend not to do anything strange so that her sentence could be commuted.

"I don't know how else I can help you, Xel."

"Don't make my help back then as your repayment now, Na. I sincerely helped you and I'm not asking for anything in return. You'd better go home and I'll drop you off."

Axel looked at his cheap watch and it was already ten o'clock at night and it wasn't good for a pretty girl like Katrina to go home alone. It didn't feel like they had been at the hospital for so long just to wait for Berry to wake up.

During the ride home and waiting for the bus, Katrina repeatedly glanced at Axel. I don't know why the handsome man was so calm about his problems when he was about to be imprisoned by Berry.

"How can you be so calm, Xel?" asked Katrina in surprise.

"Should I cry and beg Berry for mercy to avoid being punished?"

"All he has to do is insult me later. I can't help it, insults, bullying, being made a scapegoat has become my daily bread, Na."

Axel took a breath, making room in his chest cavity. His life had been unfortunate since childhood.

"Maybe my destiny is like this, Na. What can I do?"

The relaxed look on Axel's face implied a lot of pent-up sadness and disappointment. Katrina knew that Axel's life problems were coming at him, but she couldn't bear to see her friend.

Suddenly, someone called out to the two as they were about to board the bus.

"Hey, wait!"
