Eleven years ago, all Thomas Brown wanted was a simple life with the person he loved. But Eleven years later, reality hit hard, life didn’t turned out the way he hoped. He had tried to make it on his own, but things didn’t work out. So he decided it was time to turn his father for help.
It was late at night, and most people had gone home. But the tallest building in Lake City the Velox Group Head quarter was still fully lit. At exactly 9PM Thomas Brown walked into the building. Just a few steps in, a disdainful voice rang out from behind him, "Hey! Who do you think you are coming in here? If you're looking for handouts, go outside! You'll ruin our carpet, and we couldn't afford to pay for it even if we sell you!" The woman, Emily Flores, was well-dressed and clearly annoyed. She had been forced to stay late at work, missing a movie date with her boyfriend, and Thomas showing up gave her someone to take her anger out on. "What are you staring at, you filthy beggar? Keep looking, and I'll poke your eyes out!" Thomas frowned slightly. She was attractive and had a curvy figure, but her nasty attitude ruined it. Fortunately, after eleven years of enduring hardships, Thomas had developed an incredibly resilient temperament. He took a deep breath and said, "I'm not a beggar; I'm here to see David Torres." Emily completely ignored what he said. "Do you even know where you are? This is Velox Group the second biggest company in the world! Look at yourself! You’re not even fit to talk to the cleaners!” "Get lost, and stop being an eyesore!" Now Thomas was furious. "I'll say it again, I need to see David Torres!" Just then, Allen Young, the company’s head of security, walked over and put his arm around Emily. As soon as Emily saw who it was, her expression changed instantly. She sweetly leaned in, "Allen, look at this filthy beggar trying to get into our company. He's scaring me!" Then, with a look of disgust, he waved dismissively at Thomas. "Get out of here. You are not welcome.” Thomas coldly glanced at the name tag on Allen’s chest. This was the security manager of Velox? If he didn't know better, he'd think he was looking at a gangster! Over the years, what has David been up to that even his subordinates can't handle things anymore?! "What the hell are you still doing here? Do you want me to throw you out myself?!" "I'm going to say this one more time!" "I'm not here begging for scraps, I'm here to meet someone. You tell David Torres that Thomas Brown is looking for him!" "Who are you looking for?" Allen’s eyes widened in disbelief, then he burst out laughing, "You're looking for our Mr. Torres? The CEO? Thomas was surprised, "David is the CEO now?" He couldn't help but wonder to himself, wow, this old guy made it big. Just Eleven years apart, and his father has handed over all the power to him? "Allen laughed, “You? See Mr. Torres? You don’t even know he’s the CEO. What a joke!” Allen mocked him again and started walking off with Emily. “Let’s go see the goldfish I just bought,” he told her, completely ignoring Thomas. Thomas pulled out his phone and called David. “Old man, it’s not that I don’t want to come back. Your staff won’t even let me in! If you’re not down here in a minute, I’m leaving.” His voice echoed loudly through the lobby. Allen snapped. “You’ve done it now! You’re gonna get me fired!” He grabbed Thomas by the collar. “You want me to throw you out?” Thomas stayed calm. “In less than a minute, you’ll be the one apologizing.” "Apologize to you? I will show you why the sky looks so blue!" With that, he raised his fist and swung it toward Thomas's head! "Stop!" Just as the punch was about to land, an angry voice rang out from behind. Allen turned around and immediately released Thomas, bowing his head respectfully. "Chairman, this man snuck into the company while I wasn't paying attention and disturbed your rest. I'll throw him out right away!" Seeing David Torres appear, Emily Flores quickly changed her demeanor, stepping forward with a flattering smile. "Chairman, it was I who risked my safety to keep him here. Just look at him, he's acting all sneaky, he's clearly up to no good!" As she spoke, she gave Thomas a shove right in front of David. "Why aren't you leaving yet?! If you don't get out, I'll have security take you to the police station!" Thomas didn’t react. He just smirked. David walked up and… bowed to Thomas. “Young Master, you’ve been through so much.” The room went silent. Emily’s jaw dropped. “Y-young master?! Chairman… are you okay?!” David shouted, "Emily Flores!" Emily froze in fear. “I… I didn’t mean it… I didn’t know…” David glared at her. “Don’t apologize to me. Apologize to him.” Allen immediately dropped to his knees. “Young Master, I’m sorry! I had no idea. Please forgive me!” Emily’s legs were shaking. She was terrified. Thomas waved them off. “People like this give the company a bad name.” David understood. He turned to his P.A. “Fire both of them. Get them out of here now!” Later in the office, Thomas took a sip of the coffee that David had personally poured for him and sighed with satisfaction. "I haven't had coffee this good in forever,” Thomas said relaxing. Seeing Thomas's condition, David looked worried. "Young Master, what happened to you? I will get a doctor here quickly!" "It's just a minor injury, no need!" Thomas waved his hand and stated directly, "I'm here to ask for money!" David quickly handed him a contract. “Sign this, and everything in Velox Group is yours.” Thomas looked it over, signed, and handed it back. David’s hands were shaking with excitement. He had waited eleven years for this moment. Thomas raised an eyebrow. “Where’s the money?” David’s eyes widened. He didn't have time to wait for his excitement, he needed that cash to survive! "Alright! Alright! I'll transfer it to you right away!" David quickly transferred it, A hundred and fifty million showed up in Thomas’s account. “Still as generous as ever,” Thomas said with a smirk. He stood up. “Thanks. I’ll do what I promised. But don’t bother me after this.” David nodded. “Of course. Take your time.” As Thomas walked out, David opened his laptop and started a video call. An elderly man appeared on the screen. “Sir!” David said excitedly. “The young master signed the contract!”Latest Chapter
CHAPTER 191
The two of them had been running aroundto several locations for hours, and it was almost evening. Robison was furious but feltpowerless. He had been following Zach around in circles, and he still had no idea how to explain this situation. If he told anyone, they probably wouldn't believe him. But Robison's focus was clearly elsewhere."Can you keep up? We've only covered half the places we need to go today! Stop acting like you're dead weight over there!" Robison was blunt; the urgency of the situation was palpable. This guy was always dragging his feet. If only there were someone a bit more capable to help out, everything would be so much easier. Zach jogged over, feeling like he was definitely getting blisters on his feet. Running like this was really uncomfortable. He had never walked such a long distancebefore; he usually took a car. Shopping trips didn't require this much walking, especially since he didn't have a girlfriend to drag along with him. Today was definitely a worko
CHAPTER 190
He received a response to his email, which indicated that the other party was taking this matter very seriously. Although they hadn't agreed on a specific location yet, he had clearly stated that he wanted to choose the place himself. Surprisingly, the other side was quite accommodating, suggesting they were genuinely anxious about the situation. Zach watched the email exchanges closely, and it dawned on him that they were indeed dealing with kidnappers. Fear began to creep in even more. Looking at Robison's expression, Zach could tell that he was determined to catch whoever was behind this. Zach felt a knot in his stomach; he couldn't bring himself to say anything. He could only blame himself for getting involved in that gambling mess in the first place.Getting mixed up in that had led to a huge financial loss, and on top of that, other issues had arisen. Unfortunately, all of these problems had come to light in front of their father, and Zach had even taken something from him. The

Thomas glanced at Ava, who was sound asleep on the bed. She had really taken enough time off; if this continued, she'd end up lounging around just like him, wasting time.He checked the clock and decided to headdownstairs to grab some breakfast. As he stepped out, he suddenly spotted a familiar car. The memory of last night was still fresh in his mind. A few people had just finished theirbusiness and were dropping someone off when Robison's car zoomed past him, speeding like a racecar. That vehicle stood out on the road, especially under the streetlights. Seeing it again today confirmed it was indeed a familiar sight. However, it was not the car he recognized first; it was Zach. His car waswaiting at a red light, and the window was rolled down, revealing half of his face in the bright light.Thomas found it odd to keep running into these brothers' cars. He wondered whatthey were all busy with. Logically speaking, his place was quite far from theirs, so what were they doing here? A

The fact that they were able to send this message proved that they also took thismatter seriously and were afraid something might go wrong. The two sides were set to meet. In the past, Robison would have absolutely refused to agree to this, but things were different now. They needed to meet touncover the truth. With that thought in mind, there was no reason to hesitate any longer.Someone had been impersonating him, and he certainly wasn't happy about it. To make matters worse, it was a familiar face involved in the kidnapping."Robison, do you know him? I heard that guy has already sent a deposit, and it's a substantial amount of money." The person beside him glanced at his expression, clearly recognizing the name. If he didn't know him, he would have shown more urgency. He did know him, but that didn't mean his confusion was resolved. After all, Gavin had recently gotten himself into some trouble, and there were plenty of people looking to take revenge on him."That's Gavin, the h

Ava sat in the car, her expression thoughtful. Thomas glanced at her, as if he had been observing her for a while, but his gaze drifted to Solara in the backseat. He felt too lazy to speak up. "Ava you said your grandpa has some issues, but waking up was both good and bad. I just feel like he seems really alert today," Solara said, her words striking a chord with Rachel, even though the way Solara expressed it was a bit odd. "I feel the same. It seems like Grandpa is focused on just two things today: the inheritance distribution and going home. Normally, he would be asking a million questions," Ava replied, trying to make sense of the situation. She found it strangethat the old man, recovering from a serious illness, would want to avoid conversation when everyone was gathered around his bedside. It was as if he just wanted to rush home and get the inheritance sorted out."But that's not necessarily a bad thing. Your grandpa will definitely notice how much effort you put in while he w
CHAPTER 186
They arrived on the fourth floor and found a crowd gathered outside the hospital room, all familiar faces. Standing next to the doctor and the lawyer was a large family, with Robison and Uriel being the most noticeable. Ava anxiously spoke up, "So, what's going on, doctor? Is my grandfather awake?" The doctor glanced around the room and said, "It looks like all the family members are here. If everyone is present, we can slowly enter the room and make the announcement."He looked at the lawyer beside him, and his tone was surprisingly similar to that of a lawyer. Ava didn't want to ask any more questions, so she kept her mouth shut and stood quietly to the side. Clearly, the others had arrived much earlier. Thinking about this, Mrs. Solara felt a bit annoyed. She had been urging Thomas to drive faster, but that guy was so slow that it allowed thesepeople to get ahead. Thomas, for some reason, felt a sense of calm seeing the doctor like this. He glanced around and noticed thatRobison
